Doesn't seem to save where you last left off. You always have to re-select your article and scroll to figure out where you last left off. Unfortunately the magazine subscription is wedded to the app, so can't switch. Not sure at this point if I'd renew my subscription.
Better than the Kindke magazine reading app by a long way. No problems here, easy to use and easy to read. Access to so many magazines is no bad thing either. But is it perfect? Five stars tells you all you need to know.
Freezes after update: Can open app, but not scroll down the library, nor download any title. Un- and reinstalling does not solve the issue. Am not happy, as digital magazines is all I can get from the UK at the moment.
Love the content, hate the app. It's ridiculous that it doesn't remember where I left off in my last session.
Great way to take a magazine with you, open the app , read a magazine , choose from the print or a phone version and you have your favourite magazine in your pocket , I like the free Mags to try as they do allow you to read a magazine you might not of read if you couldn't try them , overall an excellent way to read your favourite magazine
Worked great for me for years, then this week it just WILL NOT OPEN...crashes before it even opens...???!!! I am using an LG H931 android and it doesnt have problems with any other apps...just this one...HELP PLEASE!
Love it! I can read the digital editions of my subscriptions before they arrive! And, I can catch up on previous editions too...
EDIT: Developers responded very fast and have fixed the problem. Thanks for the good work. Now I can read my magazines.
Such a shame, this is a very unfriendly app for navigating and trying to read any documents, scrolling and zooming articles is hopeless. I tried on my laptop instead, however the navigation and zoom is the same so it's not for me. Shame I wanted to read the magazines that had been bought for me
Easy to install and purchase, immediate effect for digital content. App loaded on phone and easy to use. Able to read content on my phone, download from the app and have no problems zooming in to read or view photos and images.
It is excellent. I Miss a good text-to-Speech feature from the app.
I had problems updating the Pocketmags app. It underwent a number of partial updates until the latest. This update finally allowed me to view Cycling Weekly which replaced the now departed Pro Cycling magazine. If you had problems and you can't view or update, contact the developers and they will fix your problem promptly.
Very cheap version of one of the best PC magazines. All information seems to be up to date. Can't wait for the next one to publish
When i see a mag I want to read, I choose it, pay for it, and read it. There are a lot of great mags on this app.
Purchased two seperate 12 month subscriptions only for them both to auto renew & be billed without my permission. Was not made aware of auto renewal feature & was difficult to find info on and turn off to prevent further unwanted renewals.
Love this it allows me to view some magazines I can't get locally without spending a lot of money to ship to me
Great great app for buying and reading magazines! Wish there was a larger selection. I have one problem with the UI. Touching certain parts of the screen brings up a horizontal scroll bar of pages right in the middle of the screen. It happens on a regular basis because apparently I am touching or brushing these certain parts of the screen inadvertently. Very annoying.
Edit: will now open but it's very slow and misbehaves. (Original review:) Unable to use following update. Just won't open, with an error message saying there's a bug. (Samsung S7 tablet)
App rarely works correctly since latest update. App just closes randomly when selecting magazines
Really great selections and an easy way to access all these publications!
It's a great idea, less clutter, easier to read and sometimes cheaper too. The only problem is that whenever I try to buy a new issue of a magazine I either get an error telling me that I already own the issue, rather than letting me checkout or once I've bought the issue it won't appear in my library to download. I've contacted customer services countless times and always just get told to reinstall the app, which doesn't always fix the issue. It's a shame, because I love it when it works
Updated (Feb 2020): TERRIBLE UNUSABLE APP! Used to work perfectly, but now I can't download any of the magazines in my library, including all those in my previous paid subscription. It says "storage full", even though there is plenty of space available on all my devices. Have reinstalled many times but it's the same. I've paid for mags that this app won't let me read. I'd strongly advise people to avoid it. Developers haven't had the courtesy to reply in two years. Extremely unprofessional.
This is a wonderful application for reading magazines in one app. One reason that I really love this app is because you can access all or most of your magazines in one place. You can have seperate subacroptions with your favorite magazines or if you are unsure what you like and or do not want to read the same magazine subscription every month thier is a membership plan so you can access any magazine(s) you would like to read that month. It is very affordable also!
For five years now, this has been a reliable, enjoyable and affordable way of getting magazines I've bought physically for years or even decades. The one nagging doubt is that nothing is permanent in an online world. If it were to fold, I would lose access to hundreds of pounds worth of paid content - not an issue for my physical archive - so being able to make permanent pdf back ups would be a feature I feel is essential.
Love this app. It allows me to read magazines which are just not available anywhere else.
For an electronic library of my favourite motoring magazines it's ideal, helps when on holiday , the magazines are easy to read by zooming in or out accordingly.
Have a large number of magazines, but since reinstalling this app, I can't read them. The downloads are slow, those that do download are unreadable due to the print being out of focus. In some cases the downloaded copy disappears in others although clearly marked as downloaded start to perform yet another slow download. Now I find the app won't even work with my Kindle Fire. Until the update I was very happy with the app now I'm totally disheartened and anoyed at having to look around for another app that's compatible with 7GBP of downloaded magazines.
It's been a thoroughly functional that is easy to navigate and a pleasure to use.
EDIT: Review updated as issue fixed. Thanks very much to devs for listening and acting. The app is fine on a tablet with the print edition, and I would normally give 4-5 stars. However, I was hoping to read the MOBILE VERSION of a magazine OFFLINE on my phone and find that article IMAGES DON'T APPEAR to be available unless I've already opened specific pages while online, in which case they appear offline for just those pages. For the rest, the text is there, but not the images. This is the case even if I've downloaded the print edition. Am I doing something wrong? Your FAQ says the magazines should be available offline. For images for the mobile version, this does not appear to be correct.
