PocketTube: Youtube Subscription Manager

Great idea for an app! I hate that YouTube doesn't have this natively. A few usability features to improve: -Channel search within add to group only does exact sequential string search instead of searching whole channel names for the search string -Sometimes there is a lag between clicking to add channel to a group, hitting back, and the channel being added. Sometimes it doesnt show when you hit back until it reloads...leading to people thinking add doesn't work I'm sure. Ill update as used

Great app, but recently on my phone its been saying click to load subscriptions, i click It, but then it just says the same thing again, once I clear my data and relink my yt and gdrive it starts working. But then the problem persists after a few hours or maybe a day, I'm not sure if it's because I have it on my phone, laptop, pc and I use it on the university pcs. I also update my yt app, to see if it fixes the problem, but it doesn't.

Love it but.. I connected my YouTube account and I had created some lists on my computer but they're not automatically syncing to the android app. I guess I'll probably use the "Import from extension file" option.

Awesome on Chrome. Would be PERFECT if you could link/sync (multi-device sync) all the pockettube's. I just organized over 200 channels on Chrome and was hoping it would sync when I downloaded the android app since I use both my pc and android frequently to watch YouTube videos. Hope this can be na added feature in the future and it'll be worth 5 stars!!! *****

Hi, thanks for this app! I really would like to see the ability to queue videos to play within the app, as well as reordering items. Also when I view videos in a group, I only see a limited portion of videos.

No categories loading when logged in with YouTube and/or Google drive. Fairphone 4 Android 11. Is there anything more that I can do to debug? When importing from an extension file: "Import failed type 'Null' is not a subtype of type 'String' in type cast" Is there a formatting error I should look for in the imported file?

Update: Within 24 hours of my review the developer published an update which fixed the issue! Amazing, thank you! I only recently discovered this app and really appreciated the ability to organize my subscriptions, but now it has stopped working for some reason. The app opens and I can open up my folders, but then when I click on the channel I want to view, nothing happens! I tried deleting and re-downloading but am still having this problem.

The app itself is great and all but there's 1 thing that is flawed. I am subscribed to 800+ channels and the app doesn't show all of them at once. I have to refresh them alot of times for some of them to finally appears. If you're able to fix so that all channels I'm subscribed to all appear at once without having to refresh over and over again, this would've been great. It's so annoying. Don't get me wrong though, I'm loving the app but please please just fix this one problem. Thank you.

Everything is well put together and very useful.The only downside is that unfortunately the filter is very very slow. If you have a collection where the channels post videos not so frequently, the app takes forever to ghostload the videos from all the other collections. For a productivity app, it's bad to spend much more time waiting for things to load than to scroll. Windows Chrome extension has absolutely no problems, plus some more useful features. I hope the speed of this app can be improved

I had no idea this app exists - saw a pop up on my desktop today and it lead me here. I had my "folders" created on desktop a while back and they synced with no problems. One problem I have: App opens up in full screen and navigation bar disappears on note9. It's annoying and doesn't serve any purpose. Just make it open like any other app with navigation bar staying at the bottom.

Great app with the exact functionality I want. Allows me to organize my subscriptions. Easy, looks fine, functional. As of right now the app is not loading for me. Still giving 5 stars though because I haven't had a single problem leading up and this is the only mobile app that I've found that sorts and shows videos. Will update in a week or so.

The best extention on earth (for YouTube) is complete garbage on mobile. At least let me add any link inside to add it into folders. The whole point of this amazingly beautiful and easy to use extention was that I had 10 subscriptions close to my heart rest were in this extention. What's the point of this app if I Nedd to subscribe to channels in order to add them in folders? It's useless and defeats the purpose of the exact thing it was meant to solve. OVER SUBSCRIPTION!!!

It seems the app no more loading YouTube subscriptions/videos on Galaxy A03s with Andriod 11 while the app successfully linked with Google Drive and also can show the created groups. Please see if this could be fixed.

It's great. I use it for Firefox and it it's perfect to be organized. However with the android app the switches that let me display and hide channel groups are vizualized as exclamation points, which is irritating because the color or shape does not change no matter to what state i switch them. If this was improved, i'd have no further complaints.

Update: I rated this down because I couldn't use it at all due to no brand account support. The developer has notified me that he has provided an update with the feature. That's indeed the case and I can finally use it. I think it's great. Simple but I think the simplicity works well for this purpose. You can create groups but I recommend doing all that on PC unless you've already organised all your subs. (Quicker on PC.) The loading is very fast. Just choose your group's icon and bam. A+

Great app. But cannot give it 5 stars due to the fact that you can only view just 5 videos when you add a channel to a group list. I wanted to be able to access more than just the latest 5 videos when channel(s) I subscribe to are added to a group

***update*** had to uninstall. just doesnt work. :( ***previous*** Thank you thank you thank you! This will be such a great app. Right now it seems like it needs a lot of development. It appears to miss videos that were uploaded on some channels. Also does not have the ability to add channels 2 your collections after you initially create an add channels at the beginning. Brilliant. This makes YouTube into what it should be. I don't know what I'm going to do if you ever stop developing this. I love it. I have 150+ subscriptions and now they're all organized as they should be. Selecting topics and then sending a playlist to YouTube is brilliant along with everything else the extension plus app combo brings. Seriously can't say enough good things about this. Don't stop doing what you do! Did I mention I love it?

It looked like what I wanted but most of my subscriptions are on a secondary YouTube channel associated with my Google account and I can't select it. Also if I add or remove subscriptions through YouTube it doesn't seem to refresh. But other than that it's a good app and I'd use it again if these issues get fixed in the future.

Groups great idea, but sadly I couldn't sync grouping to android app. Set up groups on laptop, 150 subs, then tried to sync both sides to try to sync groups to android app. It did sync the subs but NOT the GROUPS, even though followed instructions, allows & sync Google drive.... There may be: error in instructions, or error in code of Pockettube or YouTube. Whatever it is, I am leaving this note here, mainly to myself, that SADLY I can not spend anymore time on Pockettube.

Update: Fantastic now that the brand account functionality has been added. It syncs with no problems with the Chrome extension. Outdated: Doesn't let you choose which YouTube account to use, which makes this useless for me as it chooses the wrong account. The Chrome addon is great. The app, not so much.

Been wanting something like this for awhile. With 800+ channels I'm subbed to on YouTube it's been difficult to find things I want to watch since my home page recommendations are all over the place. Grouping them like this allows me to watch what I'm in the mood for a lot easier. It misses a star due to groups not syncing automatically for me but I will update once fixed.

Channel search doesn't work, it finds the channel I'm searching for but when I click on it nothing happens.

The app seems very helpful but i cannot sync the videos in my youtube account as shown in google chrome app with what i see on my android phone. In the phone i can only see the folders i have created but no subscriptions or videos under the folder...I already watched the sync video and i tried the json export and import but it does not work. Any solutions?

Followed the instructions in the video and still nothing on the app works.. Help me plz and i shall edit the review.. Edit2: ive tried it all, updated the app and import extension was not successful. One on one help would be appreciated if you could. This app really needs a widget, preferably similar to Android TV (horizontal panels) where channels (or in this case groups) updates sideways when channels upload new videos. It would make this app endlessly more useful and fulfill the goal of being practical, as I assume was the purpose of the app to begin with.

Completely non functional on my Pixel 3a. I've contacted the developer many times to report this issue along with screenshots and videos. I'm sure he's ghosting me now. App is able to pull channel groups but does not pull any channels so essentially nothing is or can be synced. Please fix this. Maybe it's an Android 10 issue.

Stopped working, the app just loads the whole time. I believe there are compatibility issues with youtube. Also, there should be a sync button. Sometimes i make changes on desktop version and does not push through.. Update: 2.0.16: Works now. Thank You!
