Podbean Podcast App

I'm enjoying the app, and I believe most of problems I'm having are simply because I'm relatively new to it and have not yet worked out all the functions. These problems are only minor inconveniences - e.g. rather than continuing to the next episode chronologically it selects at random. I might have it on shuffle in the settings or something idk

Overall, I have no complaints about this app. However, there is an annoying, recurring glitch that causes skipping during playback. I just un-/re-installed for the second time; we'll see if that fixed the problem. Stay tuned... [UPDATE: it didn't. The glitch is still there. On top of that, my podcasts aren't updating properly. I still like this app, but the glitches are disappointing.]

The app was one of the best going for a while, but it's recently become glitchy: it no longer auto-deletes played episodes, it forgets where you were in your episode overnight, it occasionally brings episodes you've listened to back into your unplayed list. It missed a few new episodes when they came out. I'm on the brink of hunting for a new platform.

Used to be great. The intelligent speed, volume boost, and up to 3x speed are all fantastic. However recent updates have broken the app. It no longer saves my place in podcasts. I.e. if I leave off on a podcast and come back to it hours later, it starts over. Also the notification bar player locks on. Only way to get rid of it is to restart phone. Frequently it will not start the next episode on the list automatically (I think it's related to high listening speed, but it used to work fine).

Great app for listening to your fav podcasts/news/etc. Update: 4/9/22: not sure if it's the app or the various channels, but some of them get REALLY loud as they go to commercial, sometimes loud through the entire commercial. This still has not been fixed: a lot of the podcasts I have listened to are not marked 'played' so I have to do it myself.

Autoplay is ANNOYING. I'm not talking about automatically playing the next episode, no. I'm saying, any single time the app detects a new Bluetooth connection it will automatically start playing whatever you were listening to. Sometimes I'll be on the phone with a client and my Podcast will start playing abruptly, and they can hear it. Forcing me to hang up on them! About to delete this app and find one that is smarter.

Best podcast client/platform out there!!! What is really excellent is the great search tools both by episodes and by podcast. Offline works great and small footprint update may 2022 : I am SO disappointed, i was a subscriber for more than two years to the paying option to not have ads (display ads) and since a few days ago we have highly aggressive voice ads right in the middle of podcast 😱 and seemingly not option to opt out even for payment. a huge let down!

It's fine but while listening the application will just so working for no reason. It will randomly just so working only starting again when I open it up at which point it'll reset the episode I'm listening to. Seemingly for no reason the app will forget where I've gotten to in every single podcast I'm listening to it's incredibly aggravating. Tech team will hopefully fix it soon!!! YES THANKYOU

I am so frustrated with your app!! I started listening to a show with 4 episodes... I can't get episode 2!!! In some shows the episode will end before it's really over!! Sometimes an episode won't play no matter how many times I click on it! I even have a hard time navigating this app... it's not user-friendly! I need a tutorial!!

App keeps telling me to "Check your internet connection." I wasn't having this issue before. I try it on both cellular data and WiFi, same results. I get this error while listening to Podcasts. I'm able to start listening to Podcasts, however, PodBean gives me this error. I've never had this issue with Twitter Spaces.

Generally works as expected, but 1. when the app moves on to the next podcast, it may not remove the finished one. To stop the app reopening the finished one, I remove these myself. 2. when closing the app in the middle of (anywhere in) the current podcast, assuming removal as I mentioned in "1" above, the next time opening brings me back to the beginning rather than where I left off. Most annoying if I have no idea at which point I had cut it. Please fix.

Works fine I guess, but the interface could be a bit more helpful. If you are looking for new podcasts it starts playing them before you can even read the description, it also seems to randomly play podcasts when I'm not looking, losing my place and starting random episodes.

I love it! Clear and beautiful sound! No low volume like on call in, although when I called in I always turned it up to my highest volume, and all but the beginning prayer, was low. Thank you ALL for helping me be better connected! It's helping me to focus better and be more disciplined and excited to come on by way if the podcast. May Allah continue to bless you all.

Finally giving up with this app. Never once received a verification email. Idiotic response showing that the original review wasn't read and a stock response was sent. Now the app doesn't work anyway as it doesn't remember where you are in a show or a series. I mentioned the problem but it hasn't been fixed.

I unfollow a podcast and it just reappears, repeatedly - this is the main issue I'm having. Also, although I follow several podcasts, it only says I'm following 1 in my profile? Generally, other functions are good and I can usually find any podcast I'm looking for in the search feature, so good selection. Bit worried that other reviews mention that problems are increasing. 🤔

I have used this app for years. Recently I switched to spotify and had nothing but problems. Best part of coming back to Podbean was that I didn't have to add my shows again, they were right there waiting for me. This app just works with my Bluetooth devices and doesn't unnecessarily drain my battery.

The app no longer holds my place in podcasts. Episodes reset as unread and I have no idea where I am anymore. Completely unusable now. Also was always annoyed I couldn't sort by unplayed and could only sort by new. What about podcasts I recently discovered? Those are all new to me but if it has 300 episodes and I've listened to 2000 I have to scroll past 200 episodes to get to the 100 I haven't heard yet. Broken.

I GIVE UP. Not only has this app been erasing my history from several years' use, not marking episodes played, posting old episodes with new ones...Now it started dropping an episode in the middle of play and starts it over ! This has been going on for the past few months and it's steadily getting worse ! We've been told and told it will get fixed, but Im beginning to doubt that....
