If I leave the app open on my phone screen for too long, it'll automatically bring up the app store page for whatever app was in the banner ad, which is annoying and feels sketchy. Started maybe a few weeks ago. EDIT: My biggest issue was sync errors, but after a bit more poking around that's fixed now.
This app is good so far but please minimize the times the premium thing pops up. And also, it would be nice if there was a button in the episodes that took you all the way to the beginning (first episode) if you are new to the series and want to start from the beginning. Or maybe a button where you left off at least. Otherwise, it's a nice app.
Pretty good app, found it handy while in work,all my favourite pods in one place, Update... The latest update of the app has absolutely ruined it, half the screen taken over by prompts to upgrade to payed version, takes forever to load, just everything that made it the best podcast app has been changed, for the worse.
This is an updated review. Have used this app for several years and on four different phones. Tried several podcast apps and keep coming back to this one. Not perfect, but simple to use, easy to navigate and organize.
It used to be a great and complete podcast app but lately it has started deleting my followed podcasts and replaced them with random other podcasts. It has become a mess so I would use another podcast app.
I'm extremely irritated. The app had me log back in today, and when I did, all of my followed podcasts were replaced by random ones I've never listened to. There's zero point in using this app if it's going to force me to download random podcasts I've never followed
The app logged me out and when I logged back in all my subscriptions were gone and noone has responded to my emails asking how to restore them. Without the subscriptions the app is pretty useless, there's no difference between it and Spotify if it doesn't have my years of subscriptions in it.
It advertised a free 7 day trial of premium, but charged me for the year immediately, even though I canceled immediately. Edit: rating increased to 4 stars, reflecting the fact that google's charge didn't go through, as per response below.
Its shocking how such a simple app can run so poorly. It freezes all the time, opens full page ads at random, lags like mad, and sometimes requires several restarts just to start a single podcast.
Love this app. Have been using it for about 2 years now without any issues until just recently. Whenever I'm listening to something all the sudden the google play store opens on it's own without me tapping on anything.
My favourite podcast app. I just wish there was a one off payment option to remove ads only. *Edit, getting constant notifications from new podcasts that I've already dismissed. Had to rollback to old APK. Down rated from 5 stars until fixed
Fantastic. I haven't had any issues i.e. bugs or glitches. Very clean app! I wish all apps ran as well as Player FM. It's the place to be for podcasts.
Really live this app, but it is recently it started using mobile data for downlading episodes although I have explicitly setup auto-download to pause if wireless not available. Also kinda resources intensive lately. Please tune ti up and clear bugs.
App provides access to almost all podcasts and works well. I have had a recent issue where all the podcasts I was subscribed to disappeared - is there any fix for that?
It has all the basics👌+ Complete Sync🔁 + Unique feature for me is the way podcast categories are handled in the ui, with around a 💯 podcasts, , it's been the best experience for actually ORGANIZING my subscriptions.🔥 - I want a "play this next" button and ability to add local folders as a "virtual podcast" (for audiobooks). Otherwise this is absolute gold. Go try podcast republic for its features, pocket casts for sleekness, and come back for all of it in one package♥️👍
It just stopped working with a pixel 4 and Airpods Pro. I just updated the app. Didn't help. Airpods are working fine with Spotify.
Reliable app but I find it a little difficult to get around the interface--still learning but not always obvious where to find things.
An episode couldn't download because of an error receiving or processing data at the HTTP level, this happens way to often and I personally think this app is broken.
It's a pretty decent podcast app, although it's biggest flaw is it's substandard search engine. It takes it from being excellent to pretty decent. Not bad though.
Extortion. The podcast begins to play but gets interrupted by an ad. The podcast does not resume after the ad and when you try to relaunch it you are told that it and all of your other downloads have been corrupted. If player.fm doesn't want you using their program without paying for it there shouldn't be a free version available.
Lean and Mean! Has way more features than I use, all the podcasts I want, and an intuitive interface.
It's a great podcast app, but let down by aggressive ads. When the app is in the foreground, it will not only show ads for shopping apps, but it will literally open the shopping app on its own. I've never seen this kind of ad intrusion before, and I don't like it! Update: Their tech support couldn't help, and I decided it's time to free myself of these ads. I love podcasts, but I'm not going to pay a subscription for a player, so I found a truly free one, AntennaPod. Works great 🤠
