I don't know how many times one developer can make huge, grandiose changes to an app, from top to bottom of the entire interface of the app... And actually make the new app two or three times (very subjective, I know) worse than the previous version of the app. I could be wrong here, but I think that PodcastOne even pulled the old app from the store so that you can't see how bad the previous version was. In addition to a horrible interface, the controls on my Bluetooth headsets don't work with the app... I've tried three different headsets. The app doesn't remember what I've listened to or where I left off... perhaps this might be resolved if I sign in, but like others, my previous account apparently doesn't work with the new app. Please, PodcastOne, for the sake of everyone who likes the shows they can only get on your app, go hire some of the developers of an app that functions properly... Stitcher would be my prime example
Terrible update to an app that used to work perfectly! Very slow response time (takes about 5 seconds to register that you have clicked a link) and once you get to an episode the sound will stop completely and will not let you press play, the only solution is to close and reopen - and then it doesn't remember where you left off! Cannot subscribe to any podcasts so have to search the database every time you want to check for a new episode. Hope this gets sorted soon.
This app is very disappointing. It's very slow, when I click on something it seems to take a long time to respond and it keeps pausing at the worst possible times. I start the podcast and it will be going fine until I get on the motorway doing 100km/h and all of a sudden it pauses for no reason, causing me to have to open my phone and try to get it working again while I'm driving. Very unhappy. I also wish it would play the next podcast automatically.
I didn't think it was possible to make a crappier podcast app, but they managed to do it! I was excited to see they made a new version, hoping they fixed the NUMEROUS problems with the last one. Nope! THUS ONE'S MUCH WORSE!!! The last one at least would resume where you left off, this one does not. So if you have to pause, go to another app, not only will it not take you back to your place within the podcast you were listening to, IT WILL NOT TAKE YOU TO THE ACTUAL SHOW YOU WERE LISTENING TO!!
Terrible idea to just link to the website which doesn't function very well. I can't download podcasts, and it crashes frequently. I think it's great you're developing a new app, but bring back the old, functioning one in the meantime! Please get this fixed quickly; you are the only access i have to a few podcasts that get me through the day!
I am experiencing the same problems as others who have left reviews. The latest version of this app is terrible. It keeps stopping/resetting part-way through podcasts, losing where I am up to. Even worse when it happens when I am driving as I cannot restart or find where I was up to. I am at the stage of downloading podcasts onto my old iPod instead of using this app.
I'm not trying to be a negative Nancy here, but this app barely functions. I'm experiencing random crashed mid podcast. There is no easy way to determine which podcasts I have already listened to. The user interface is impossible to navigate. The dmv is a more organized operation. Update: I tried, but the app would freeze and the podcast would exit whenever my phone display dimmed. I can't keep my finger hovered over the app to keep it from locking just to continue listening. Had to uninstall.
The worst podcast app there is. Very confusing to be brought to a page when you search for a specific podcast, and are essentially given a Google search page with 280,000 results. It also would stop playing in the middle of a podcast, and I would have to close out, re open the app, search for the podcast, find the episode and try to find where I left off. It makes me SO sad that some of my favorite podcasts are part of this app.
I had some downloads, finished them. Now when i open the app it goes to an empty downloads screen with no way to get back. Reinstalled. For such a heavily promoted app, it is very possibly the worst. And seriously.... how is there no search function, it's the first thing i looked for in this unbelievably slow app. There is about 2 or 3 seconds between screens.
can't pause, constantly shuts down and kicks you out AND ALSO loses your place. if you open the app while you are listening to something, it brings you to the home page, you have to drill down into the episode again. even then, you can't bring up what's playing to see where you are. it is presented as a new show that you can only watch from the beginning. very frustrating!
When I had the app originally, it was amazing. Then the appnwent down, I emailed asking what was going on. Was told an update was coming out. The update is aweful. constantly freezes up. Will not resume playback. It just now brought back being able to create playlists. I wish I could go back to the old app
Not sure what phone your writing the app for. It can't be for the S9. It was working, now if I don't finish the Podcast it starts all over from the beginning. I can't fast forward to where I left off. With so many Podcast out there how can not have a great working app. Maybe it's better on a Apple device. For the Android it's not friendly.
It doesn't allow for 30 sec rewind / forward in Bluetooth mode not for it show up as an app on Android auto. All of my other podcast as do. Also, everytime I try to log in I get an error message saying the app is having trouble and to try again later. Not user friendly at all. I expect more from anything associated with AC.
It's a handy app, good content. but if I flip the screen the app goes straight to the home screen and stops playback, then i have to find the podcast was listening to. I also need to guess where I was up to, as the app doesn't remember how much I had played. fix these issues for 5 stars.
Similarly to the las coment, had to Dl this again. This updated app is horrible. Can't subscribe to the podcast feed, downloading podcast doesn't work, app is not optimized at all to use on phones, there is no rewind option(10sec, 30 sec, none), app is very slow, sound stoppes randomly(it's like it stops in order to dl the content from internet), hate it. Don't iupdate from the old one! Get rid of that crappy app. I did. Podbean has all the podcasts that only this one had and it's waaay better app!
This is the worst podcast app I have ever used. Expecially for an app that has podcast in the name! I cannot wait till I am done listing to my current podcast (only available on this app) so I can uninstall it! It is almost worth not listing to this podcast so I don't have to use this atrocious app! Can't reorder to play from the 1st episode, can't even scroll to get to the first episode it loops back to the beginning. Constantly crashes and looses my place when I pause the episodes. Miserable!
This app is practically unusable. The download button does nothing. The audio stops if you open another app and then you lose your spot in the podcast. Also on the android version, you can't subscribe, you can only get email alerts. I don't want more email. I honestly can't imagine how this app could be worse.
app keeps getting worst with each update. Player overlay malfunctioning all the time. No longer able to skip forward or back 30 seconds like before. Stop tweaking whats not broken. I would rather use Real Player 7 over this garbage. Moved onto Castbox. Won't even bother to try this app again. Same podcasts I was using Podcast One for I now have available in Castbox.
What a garbage app. It's practically unusable. This new version takes forever to load the selection screen. Doesn't hold your place if you close the app. Doesn't have audio controls in the drop down android menu. No fast forward skip or rewind. And podcast freeze all the time while playing. I will not be using this anymore
Use Stitcher instead!! Cannot log in. It freezes everytime I click a button. Does not remember where I left off. Glitchy. Not functional or user friendly. I didn't think the functionality could get worst than the original app but PodcastOne has figured it out. I realize this is just a transition phase while they do a major update to the other one but how long does it take to do that?! Also, why do you have to? I don't know of any other company that has done anything like this.
