Loved this app for years, but for the past few months it WILL NOT respond to Bluetooth fast forward/rewind controls. Play and pause work fine, but if I can't skip from headphones it's a deal breaker for me. Other than that, the organization and ease of use of this app are great

I've been using this app for years It's really gone downhill lots of bugs lately I have to kill the app for it to stop saying that it's downloading something that it isn't. Also while listening to podcasts the Play store is constantly getting launched to third party bloatware ad style apps. Very uncool. I've recommended this app to dozens of friends now i avoid it. But I keep checking back once in a while to see if it's fixed. Wish you luck but I'll stop checking soon and move on permanently.

I miss the original iteration of podkicker. It provided descriptions of podcasts before you subscribed, and the player responded better to controls on headphones. I understand the need for ads now but they are to close to the player controls so you accidentally hit them when using the app on the phone (intentional?) Not helpful on my 20 mile bike ride to work.

Great app, but has a major problem. If there is no network available, podcasts will not play. I assume this is because ads will not load, but sometimes I don't always have good cell or wifi service. Edit to say, this does occur with downloaded podcasts. As soon as the app regains network it will all of a sudden begin playing audio. I will do some more testing.

Can't fast forward or rewind with Bluetooth devices. Super annoying. Have to switch apps. Please fix ASAP. Update almost 2 months later after I left my review originally. Still can't rewind or fast forward in the car, with headphones, or any Bluetooth device. Completely ridiculous.

Ads. Can't delete more than 2 episodes at one time? 1) I bought the Pro version years ago. NOW I have to put up with ads because of an update? 2) I used to be able to delete several episodes at once. Now it only deletes 2? I know about the auto-delete function when 100% listened,but I don't wish to utilize that. Will plan to edit stars when concerns are addressed.

All versions so far have been pretty solid. Slight bug at the moment selecting and deleting multiple downloads though. Easy to work around deleting one at a time. ---edit--- Got a quick response from the developer letting me know this bug is now fixed. Tested working. Upping review from 4 to 5 stars.

Used this for years and it seems the recent 12jan22 update changed the fwd/rev options via Bluetooth. The settings are for fwdrev not nextprev and the time to skip is 30sec fwd and 15sec back. It works when i open the app and click it directly but the options are grayed out on the lock screen and via Bluetooth it doesnt work. If this was moved behind the paywall then I'll move on.

Newest version (3.3.3) doesn't allow ff/rewind control via Bluetooth devices. In the app, the controls work but I'm unable to do ff/ rewind using any Bluetooth device. Via email, the developer was unable to assist and said to wait for the next update. Where is it?

I've been using Podkicker for years. The most recent update (Jan 19 2022) seems to have disabled the ability to forward or rewind skip via Bluetooth or the lock screen. Is this issue being fixed?

No purchasing options. Only subscription. Software as a service is not a thing, when you don't provide a service! I have purchased podkicker pro and used it for years, but it doesn't work with my new car's android auto. I emailed about this and got no reply.

I am now constantly having to deal with this app opening up the Play store and trying to get me to download other apps it's advertising. This is absolutely unacceptable to me and I will be switching to a new podcast player.

Used to be one of my used apps but the skip forward/back over Bluetooth feature stopped working making it much less usable and annoying to the point I've started testing alternative apps.

When you use the discover / search function to look for new podcasts on a general subject, you just get the podcast title and no further detail. That doesn't help much. From memory the earlier versions of the app offered more. As with many things the latest updates seem aimed at making it look prettier but have made what was a wonderfully practical app that bit less useful.

Every update is worse than the last. This time around, leave the app running and when you look at your screen again or come back to the app you'll be directed to the Play Store to download a random app.

I've used this for a good few years now and while it's still good, it would be great if it worked with Android auto or Waze. However, I've re-reviewed this because, lately, the ads have become intrusive. I'm not averse to adverts, but there have been a few that have audio which play over the podcast, so you get a situation where a podcast plays and the advert plays at the same time - I have to then pause the podcast until the advert stops. And this happens every few minutes...

Same problems as people below. Constantly playing ads over the top of podcasts. Unusable! It is clearly intentional, although they will obviously claim it's not. Ridiculous! Pre-emptive thanks, but no thanks for the offer to send an email regarding the issue you've already had complaints about. As if it's up to us to us to help fix the problems (completely intentional cash grabs) of this now garbage app...

Can't Add Downloads To Playlist Anymore and New Ones Won't Play. I have been a fan of this (Podkicker Pro) Podcast Player for years. But the updates have ruined it and made it useless. Downloads won't play and nothing can be added to the (classic style) playlist. I've cleared the cache, wiped the data and reinstalled it.. but nothing fixes it. So I have uninstalled it.. and sadly moved to another player. Such a shame!

Loved for years, but recently some of my daily podcasts have stopped working (unable to load - service unavailable). They load in others like Google Podcasts. Maybe a future update will resolve...

Developer seems active here so hopefully get a response. Using galaxy s8 and for the past few months none of the controls work on the lock screen.

Used to be a great minimalist podcast app. Now it's constantly jamming extra audio ads into my podcasts. The player controls are too small and bunched together making making scrubbing past ads and interstitials in podcasts a frustrating task. Will be using a different app for podcasts. Just noticed the pro version is $34 lmao. So it's safe to assume all the issues with the free version are deliberate.

September 2021. Wow, audio adverts over the top of my podcasts. Time to find a new player. What a shame. I've been using this for years, love it and have no reason to change. The only thing I'd like is an easy way to change the playback speed, especially in Fullscreen Carmode so I can play casts with lots of music at normal speed - a simple 2 button +/- would be perfect.

Taking a star off from my previous review. The list of episodes has bigger images and text which reduces the amount of shows on screen at a time. Also the play button is a lot smaller than before. Makes it more fiddly to use. Old review: I've used this app daily for years on multiple phones. I've tried others in the interim and always gone back to podkicker. It's perfect in it's functional simplicity. Don't ever change.

I have been a loyal user for many years. However, of late the app is not automatically playing the next podcast on the list consistently. It does work sometimes, however on several occasions it just stops on finishing the current one. This gets extremely annoying when the phone is not within reach when it's playing, which happens all the time.
