I like the idea of 'spinning' up a random selection of poems, but I find it a little frustrating that I can only adjust the size of the font, but not the font itself, which makes reading poems a little harder for me (oddly the Poetry Magazine app uses a much nicer serif face which I find a lot easier to read)
Please update the app. I've enjoyed this very much. It brings light, love, family, darkness, war, loss and loneliness... to my fingertips. It shows the poets their lives and leads to hours of their beauty in my solitude. It challenges and suprises and shows a way into lives that we can never experience for ourselves without them.
Unfortunately clunky and dated, doesn't allow for refined searches and themes/tagging is not very sophisticated. Audio likes to never load. Could be overhauled to be a nice app, but disappointing in its current state
This app was laat updated in 2017. It doesn't seem to have the full archiece of poetry that thr Poetry Foundation has online. I can find Author O'Shaughnessy online but not on the app. The UI is dated as well and its a bit annoying to be greeted by the "spin" button each time i start the app.
I used to really love this app back when the audio worked. I saved numerous "favorites" on my now ancient Samsung S4 but some time ago the audio stopped working and I was hoping it was just my outdated phone. However, today with my brand new Galaxy A52 5G it is still broken. Do check out the Poetry Foundation website instead.
A brilliantly simple search tool to gain access to an extensive catalogue of poems. Can't fault it! One suggestion would be a feature to customise/organise my favourites, as I'm building up quite a list.
Brilliant place to come to read poetry on shuffle. The UI could definitely be upgraded, but, that's still no cause for complaint. Love this app!
Excellent source for classic and contemporary poetry. Only problem is that the audio poems will not play.
I eagarly installed this app and searched for my favorite poets. No Allen Ginsberg, no Jack Kerouac, no Sylvia Plath??? Every poet that's a top favorite of mine that I wanted to read was missing. What a joke. I gave 2 stars because there is a large selection, and many readers probably will find what they're looking for. But not one poem by Ginsberg outraged me to the point of immediately deleting the app.
I hoped it would at least resemble the website. The design is old and you can't access any articles or podcast. What am I supposed to subscribe to if I don't want the magazine???
Great little app to read when you have a few minutes to spare. Spin the wheel and find a new poet instead of scrolling through social media for the thousandth time.
I love this app as an alternative to scrolling a feed. I love that I can pick through beautiful poems at random, it makes my day.
I really love this app. Sometimes I don't think the poems match the categories well, but that can be unexpectedly good.
thank you for putting back all you took out of ts eliots waste land. Call the police on you guys. I noticed that you still are leaving some out of the poem. Please put it back. Point well taken. But please put it all back.
The new poems aren't very good and are almost exclusively by upper middle-class women. Disheartening for other groups, especially poorer men.
Really great app. But plz update the user interface design. It's a little bit out-of-fashion
Superb app. Inspire yourself each day with intense and beautiful poems. Tip top (thats my best poem, ever).
I used it before and loved it. Installed it again and it crashes every time I try to use it.
To tedious to search the right poems or poets style is very bad, could have been more user friendly
This app may be basic and simple, but it is still a great way to discover poetry.
App keeps crashing after "SPIN". I want it to work!
My favorite all time app, engaging design and inspiring content
Every time I attempt to open the app, it crashes.
this App helps me hold poems upon poems upon poems upon poems right in my hand. Amazing! Thank you for your work for poetry and poets!!!
Don't waste your time on this pile of garbage. It's as bad as what the website and magazine have become . . .
Great variety. Good referencing by theme
won't stay open closes when spin is pressed
I really like this app it just wouldn't play the audio
I love this app! It definitely includes older poetry and poems that are public domain - not the likes of Carol Ann Duffy or Sabrina Benaim. I enjoy using the spinner to pair moods and themes in order to find suitable poetry. The search function is also great. The UI could do with an update and this app would be even better if it had a 'sort by' function (e.g. sort results by most popular, most recent, etc.). Overall, a great way to explore poetry!
