Pointless Quiz

I love the TV game, its intelligent, fun and esoteric, so downloaded the accompanying game. It's quite faithful to the show in terms of design and questions, but there are some glitches they should fix, namely when playing a random player there's connection issues and a coin stack that keeps scrolling, and although playing against the computer is much smoother, they often score very low so it's difficult to beat them, although I've reached the trophy stage a few times.

Just like the show, so it accomplishes that! The final round is the best bit, where you have to input your own answers (although I'd like to see it ignore accented letters...). Playing against the computer in the early rounds feels more like chance than skill though... e.g. the computer usually scores <10pts, so rather than choosing an answer you know is correct, more often than not to win you have to guess an obscure answer and *hope* it is right and less than their score.

The premise is ok, could follow the TV game a bit closer, but it's ok. It is, however, hellishly buggy! Constant connection errors in 2 player mode or frozen loading pages. And just after I give 3 stars, I've been logged out by the app, wants me to reconnect via facebook, but won't load FB for me to sign back in. Hopefully this will be sorted. Down to 1 star now as I can't play the game!

I was really enjoying this game (apart from the odd answer I knew was right but was told it was wrong! 🤔) but now it has just stopped working. I was playing with my brother, who has purchased the extra packs as well as paying for the app! Now it's frozen on his go and won't let him submit an answer. It won't let us start again even. So that's that. Extremely disappointed!

Uninstalled this app 2 years ago due to the number of bugs in it. Thought I'd try it again to see if it had improved, but no. I couldn't even get past the forgotten password screen. Unable to connect! Hopeless

Utter garbage. The layout of the rounds is nothing like the show and there's no room for thought until the final round (if you make it). For the first three rounds you're given multiple choice answers to pick from so all you need to do is close your eyes and take a punt at one being lower than the other persons. Its boring with very little to no challenge whatsover. Dont waste your money.

Good game as long as you don't buy the question packs! Bought the full set of question packs for £3.99 and as soon as I logged back in, the packs were not available and asking for another purchase to use them. No response via emails sent for help to correct the problem. Very disappointing because it seems like it has the potential to be a great game, although the lack of response from the makers would make me very wary from purchasing again.

The app feels cheap aesthetically and can be a bit glitchy sometimes. It wasnt possible to create an account for me. The format of the game isn't quite the same as the show and the format of the questions isn't varied like the show. There are extra question packs behind paywalls. If I could refund this app, I would. Such a disappointment.

This game costs quite a bit but then you only start the game with a standard pack. To unlock the full game costs about the same again. It seems not many people play around the world because noone I knows play and i have heaps of games going with the same 3 'random' people. The animation is extremely slow between plays and then it glitches out everytime I play.

Tricky to review. I largely enjoy the gameplay, but I do agree with other criticisms regarding the multiple choice options - it does dilute the experience. This, however, is not my issue with the app. The biggest issue is the problems signing in and connectivity. If I log off my Wifi when leaving my home, I have to then attempt to "log in with Facebook" to the app again when I reconnect and this does not work for a long time!! Is this a glitch? Very frustrating!!!

Constant connection errors mean you have to try several times to answer the same question. Questions are horrendously outdated and playing against the computer is near impossible as it's always multiple choice and the computer always picks the lowest scoring answers. Great potential but it's being wasted at the moment, fix the connection issues and update the questions for immediate improvement

Keeps freezing or crashing, constant refreshing or needing to close and reopen the app. Playing on your own the PC answers with unrealistically high knowledge on every subject. Really a shame because the trivia is enjoyable and the game could be good if it wasn't so annoyingly slow and bad to run/play....

Constantly coming up with error message saying it couldn't connect with network even though I'm connected to WiFi. Also would be good if you could add computer players rather than having to wait hours or days on end for people to play their next turn.

Far too disappointing... The rounds don't match the game show and the graphics are lacking. It doesn't even show the trophy, it's just a black screen. Also the questions are super old. Disappointing for such a popular quiz show as it could be so good.

It's a good game but when I play online against a random stranger, they don't play when it's their turn instead it keeps saying it's their turn for hours. Even when you nudge nothing happens. Sometimes it says connection error when I have excellent network coverage, and I'm always playing against the same stranger online.

As others have noted, incredibly buggy. Sometimes when you click on a text box to write an answer, the keyboard is not triggered to open. I paid for the 800 pack and within half an hour it reverted back to 'unlock this pack'' despite my having bought it. Proportion of sports questions is ridiculous, way too many. Format not similar enough to tv version. Deleting it now.

Bought the all questions pack for my mother's as it one of her favourite shows and one game it works and next game all questions pack are locked again saying I need to unlock them ie pay another 3.99... Not good enough clearly buggy and expect it to be sorted or I'll be messageing Google support for a refund....

Awful This is one of the worst games I have ever played. The single player game is unfair as the computer always plays first, usually gets a low scoring answer and it you don't beat it it's game over. The game you can play with other people is also awful since the other player doesn't play their turn in the middle of the game. Avoid! I have played better free games.

Edit: started working after reinstalling, but still cannot get app to work when playing against friends, it seems to be linked to the keyboard. Even tried switching to a different keyboard and no luck. Contacted developer but yet to receive a response!

Good game!! If you could add a feature on the game just like the real life gameshow so that we can play with our friends instead of only being able to play online against a random stranger or on your own. Also, in the solo play game, make the questions a bit easier because for young people like myself playing the game, we dont know any of the questions that are presented to us

This literally is pointless! Because you can use the space bar in any of your answers in the final round! Nor can you log in with Facebook, and if your email is linked to your Facebook, you can't use it to create an account. And, the questions all seem to be from around 2010 - 2012. All in all, pointless!!

No longer supported. Used to be addicted but this has not been updated in years and is now almost impossible to play against others. It simply keeps losing connection and as such is completely unplayable. A shame. Uninstalled.

I downloaded the game and bought all the quiz packs when I logged back in, all the packs had gone from unlocked to needing to be bought. I read the FAQs and this is is a common issue apparently! How on earth they haven't got this common bug fixed, I don't know! It said to message them with the Google play order reference number and they would refund, which I did a week ago and have received no response. Do NOT buy this game, its a con! I have never been so disappointed in an app I've downloaded.

Good game with a wide variety of questions. Lots of bugs though and should include a chat option. Updated: Constantly crashing or failing to accept answers, almost unplayable at times.

Pay to get the game then pay five more times to unlock the full game no thanks. From the severe lack of sound effects until three quarters of the way through the unskippable boring tutorial. The single player game is dull. No thanks I'll refund my money and spend it on somthing more worthwhile.

Absolutely horrible. Cannot understand why Endemol would choose/approve this app as a credible feature for Pointless fans. I've revisited a few times with fresh hope, only to uninstall again thereafter. FYI, if anyone wants to experience a super slick, enjoyable TV quiz app, see Countdown (Official Version). Sorry guys... This be my first ever negative app review. :-(

I love watching pointless and thought this game would of been so much fun so i paid the £1 odd to buy the game and it was ok but not quite as good as i expected. I kept getting the same type of questions over again and i got very bored quickly. So thought i would buy the full pack which was £2 odd well wish i hadnt as it hasnt made any difference! Still getting the boring same style questions. Tried to get a refund as this is not what i thought it was going to be but not giving me the option so disappointed

I can't make this app work it would seem. got frustrated with being unable to log in via Facebook and having to create a separate account, even though Facebook settings show I'm logged in. It's just been a buggy experience and I no longer want this game.
