Still only has the most recent cards in its database (update #1). Would've thought the official app would be more complete than a third party one... It also needs links to other relevant cards (e.g. the cards it evolves from and other versions) and please include a 'download all' for expansions
Absolutely loved this app and was about to start checking my list off when I found out the scan option is broken. It doesn't matter which card I scanned it always showed the same trainer card and just kept asking if it was the card I scanned. Shame because this app is easy on the eyes and categorized pokemon well and made searching easy.
Got rid of this almost immediately. It fails to do the most basic thing which is to keep an accurate record of your cards. When I put in which "Celebrations" I had then left and came back it randomly added more of them as in my collection. I removed the app and redownloaded it to see if that fixed the bug but the same problem remained. Great idea for an app. Execution is terrible
Bro how can the scanning be so consistently bad. It scans the same card and gets it wrong with the same suggested cards, even on different backgrounds and angles
I was trying to get astral radiants on this app and it deleted all the cards I had put into the app so I had to go back and put all my cards in again!😡😤
There was a lot of potential for this app to excel in cataloging your collection. The lack of support for expansions prior to Sun and Moon doesn't really bother me, but I understand why it does for others. What DOES BOTHER ME, however, is how inefficient, non-intuitive, and amateurish this app is. . It takes too long to snap the photo of the card and have it analyzed and added. For some reason, you have to position your camera perfectly and if you do and you're in the best light, it's still hit or miss. If you manage to snap the photo, you are treated to an animation. I only have about 800 cards, so doing this for every card is laborious and not worth my time. There's no way to link your collection to an account, so if your phone goes belly up or you uninstall the app, you'll lose everything. Finding what you own is not intuitive and requires a lot of interaction with the UI. Not good. You cannot export your collection. This is important given that nothing is saved in an adequate and secure manner. There should be some way to export the data the app is saving internally on your device. Finally, his app will eat your device's battery life. This is a terrible app.
With having thousands of cards and not knowing what I was missing, this really helps with letting me figure that out. The user interface is pretty good for the most part. I just really wish there was an account feature so I could switch from my phone to a tablet. I also would love if there was more cards from the previous sets, at least from Black and White expansions. Overall a great app but just missing some features that I'd think make it even better.
Excellent Library. The art on each card is crisp and detailed. This is fantastic and makes it worthwhile to download by itself. My issues using the app are small but noteable. First is that I can't use the app without internet access, no big deal but ok. There is no way to "bulk" add cards to a collection, so it takes time to fill a set. Lastly, the scanner isn't very reliable. Other than that, this is a superb app for anyone use as a reference for the TCG.
This app has so much potential, honestly. I think with a few updates, it could be so much better! Firstly, the scanner does work. I've seen loads of reviews that the scan feature is broken, and I had trouble with it at first too, but if you use it right (just follow the instructions it gives you in the app) it works great! I'm hoping that they update this for older cards before X and Y, and that they fix a glitch where some cards are missing too, though. I'd really love to rate it 5 stars soon!
Great idea, but not incredibly useful. You have the option to select which cards you own in current standard competition; however, there is no option for collection overview, quantity editing, reverse/holo selection. The app would be of more use to most collectors and competitors alike if it included these options, as well as expanded/legacy collections. Also, a deck builder would be icing on the cake. Not deleting yet, in case a future update brings some of these features.
I've been waiting for an official app like this for a long time. I would gladly give it 5 stars, if not for 3 shortcomings it has: 1) You can't add the quantities of the cards you own. 2) You can't specify the type of card it is you own (Normal, Reverse, Special). For example, for any single card, I want to specify that I have 2 normal and 1 reverse. 3) Many of the older expansions are missing. It's good to see that they are slowly being added, but there's still a lot left to add.
I read the reviews of other people saying that the scanner doesnt work? it works quite well for me, as long as I'm in an area with adequate lighting; for me, can't speak for everyone else, the app does exactly what it says, the only drawback is the fact that theres no way to back up what youve qlready scanned, so switching to a new phone csused me to lose what ive already acanned, so I'm slightly avoiding all of my cards until there's some kind of backup feature. '96 to now is my collection.
It. does as advertised, i cant blame it there. Good asthetics and an organized system for your cards. What i do want to see however is full use of this apps potential. That means every version of a card such as normal to reverse holo and plain holo. Another thing is that the scanning system while nice, doesnt feel rewarding. Imagine implementing a small animation after every scan, that would be amazing. Overall its a nice gimmick, but it can use some polish.
It's an amazing idea and really well done! However, it doesn't cover every expansion of cards. I have a Keldeo EX from an expansion not in XY or Sun and Moon, and when I try to scan it, it doesn't come up and the app crashes after a little while unless I stop the scan in time. Please add more older expansions! It would really benefit the app's usability!
App needs old sets for it to be useful. It should also support reverse holo. Stop it from being full screen, as it isn't needed and hides the navigation bar. Didn't try the scanner since the rest of the app wasn't useful. I'll check back in the future to see if it has improved.
It's ok. Its not the best UI for entering in your collection, but looks great for looking through the expansions that are supported. It doesn't distinguish between non-foil, foil, and reverse foil. Also, I couldn't find alternate art (yellow A) cards. I hope this gets supported in future updates. The TCGO app has a more complete roster if you want to see what's available.
It does what it's supposed to do and not much more. The scanner is completly useless for foil cards. Some promo cards are completely missing from the app or don't get added until much much later. There's no support for the alternate art cards used as promos either. A filter for unowned cards only would be good. It would be nice to see reverse holo cards counting separately from the regular. Perhaps there could be a new completion number: Master Set (all cards + all reverses from the set).
Great App... To a point. Easy to use, great card graphics, and fast loading make this app 5 stars. However, no cards Pre-XY, scanning doesn't work well, and, my pet peeve, nothing to show a card that has two versions (holo and reverse for example) make this a 1 star app. With some additional sets and precise card variations, this would be a 5 star app that I'd pay money for. Until then, it gets a very average 3 star rating.
So I'm going to agree with a few people, it's a rather bland selection of cards. I have cards from before year 2000 and it doesnt contain them at all I have a wide variety of cards and the first one I scanned wasnt in the app. It is a fantastic concept however the amount of cards is lacking, if you see this I dont recommend downloading this app if you have a big collection :c
Scan feature doesn't work. I downloaded this app for that feature alone, so imagine my disappointment when the sole purpose of download doesn't work. TCG HUB is far better and offers a range of market prices for the cards, giving the user a sense of their collection's value. It doesn't have a working scan feature, but then again... neither does this one.
Pretty neat app. I didn't have any problems scanning my cards. Would love to see an option to also record the parallel set, something like the card checklist available on the Pokémon website. Really hoping you continue to expand and work backwards to include all the sets. A login feature would be great to save my collection in case something happens to my phone.
Can't see the point of this app. Supposed to be able to scan card to be saved. I have tried and tried to scan cards (in plenty of daylight and using overhead LIGHTS), eventually one scanned in then it did not save it. Utterly pointless app. All you will do is waste your time trying to get it to scan. Can't find any other way to add cards to it.
This app is a great idea, but in my opinion, poorly executed. My camera isn't the best, but it's not terrible either and I didn't expect it to be a problem. In fact, I doubt it's my camera that's the problem, but rather the app itself. I've got decent lighting and a even, solid color background as the app requires. However, out of the hour I spent trying to find the best positions, I've only managed to scan 2 cards. A third card was scanned, but not successfully.
This app is hard to evaluate. It seems to be the number 1 app for collectors of Pokémon cards, as it was made by the Pokémon Company, and uses licensed images and does have neat interface and obviously professional quality. It's a beautiful place to look at your collection. However, several limitations include; only featuring the last 3 generations, not updating after each expansion (hardly updates ever to accommodate for promos as they are released and added to sets), slow (scanning and nav)
