I think that a lot of the stuff you learn is useful. I've not been playing for long so I can't say for definite that it will make you winning player. I think some of the information is oversimplified to the point it is incorrect (defending the turn without position says to fold strong drawing hands to a reraise, a straight flush draw has a 33% of hitting the outs on the river and you only require 27% equity to call (without implied odds)). All in all I think simplified is better for beginners.
The app is actually great. I paid for a 6 month subscription (fairly cheap too). The next day I decided to start playing and it was just loading forever. I uninstalled and remove all data, reinstalled and now I cannot even login. I will be forced to dispute the payment, but I'd much rather get to use it. EDIT: Works with a new account for now, we'll see
I really enjoy this app. The price seems a bit high for what you get though. Also, I feel it encourages you to play a bit too aggressively with 2 pair and flush draws. Overall an excellent tool for your NLHE game. With a little polish on the UI, a more in depth look at strategies and lines, and possibly a price reduction or one time fee this would be a 5 star app.
I didn't really understand position and hand ranks that well. I just played my hands in live games based on my opinions on hand strength. Now I'm able to understand why certain ranges work and don't work. Very useful app. However, don't get fixated on these hands. In certain situations " if the price is good enough" you can still see the flop.
They have no idea what they are talking about, so many situations, where you should call or raise, they advise you to fold, I mean really? If you're using this as an example, then you are lowering your chances of learning anything useful and heightening your chances of losing all of your money. Keep searching, there's better apps and sites that give way better advice for free.
unbelievably good app for building muscle memory through repetition. exactly what I was looking for to increase my live cash win rate! only gripe is that the ranges are either tailored to tournament play or old ideals of hand ranges. no one plays these ranges any longer in live cash and they need an update. please write back about anyway to get custom ranges. thanks!
Great trainer! I just got started with the paid version, and am working on all the pre-flop tips. This has already improved my results, as a lot of money can be saved just by not playing with so-so hands.
Increased my game dramatically. Especially helpful for understanding the nuances of position and shove fold in relationship to stack size. Now it's a great warm up tool before a session. Also helps you understand a possible mindset of a beginner opponent so you can exploit these lessons! >:)
TWO THIRDS of the "Attacking the River" hands are Quads and Full House hands! WHY?!?!!? They are a complete waste of training time. First, they hardly ever happen, and second, they're so obvious to know what to do, there's no purpose in having them! Please change the algorithm and get rid of the obvious hands. They're a complete waste of time for your customers. Other reviews mention the same thing! Other than that, it's a good trainer.
Great for learning fundamental stuff in a very fast way. Some hands seem weird and the explanation isn't helpful so I guess the explanation should analyse deeper. There's a lot it can improve on, but over all I feel like it's great value
Paid subscriber. Has so much easy potential. Explain last move doesn't explain anything. Just says move i already know would be better. Needs to say what player has advantage by my mistake, why. "remember you are in cutoff position and have less than 10 blinds, therefore you should have fold/all in/etc otherwise you are xyz." should also say, if you were UTG then this would be good because xyz. Needs to let me see chart as I play for reduced points. Needs a full sim game with active tutorial.
Great tools. Paid is a SUBSCRIPTION( monthly fee ). Would consider it if i could use google play cards to pay. I have recommended this app to all my beginner friends. I have id' d one major leak with free version. trying paid version.... really like the tests on flop / turn / river.
Nice app. Only problem is the lack of variety in the presented scenarios. There's a particular pattern to them which doesn't simulate real games all that well.
It's a good beginner app for sure but the one thing it lacks is actual lessons. You're basically just trying to memorise different charts from different positions which can be very frustrating if you're struggling. It would be nice to have a bit more theory than just "play tighter" or "play looser". I've had to do a lot of self guided study to try and get out of ruts with this game, but it has definitely improved my outcomes as a beginner so it gets a solid 4 stars. With decent theory it'd be 5
