Clean, focused and useable. Does what it should, easily without fuss. Great little app. Being able to now rotate the reticle is great! Suggestion: Provide a readout of (or even better, a way to input) rotation values in RA / hh:mm:ss format, in addition to degrees. Minor display bug -- On my Android 12 Pixel 4A the app stays fullscreen regardless of the setting. No biggie, just noticed it. Update - Rotate-by-hour works great. Full screen is intermittent, but as noted, no biggie. Thanks!!
New to the field of astronomy. I'm in the Southern Hemisphere. I have a HEQ5 Pro mount. With the Polar Scope function in the app does that mean I don't need to use the polar scope in the mount if I simply want to do "rough" polar alignment (before then doing a more precise polar alignment using an ASIAIR Plus)? The two values that are shown (in hh:mm:ss) for the polar scope - what do they refer to?
Good but... Would be nice to be able to turn the polar scope around to get the numbers in any position as the polar scope on my tracker will move depending in my framing. It's a huge pain to re clutch the tracker, align it, clutch again, rinse and repeate every time it's getting slightly missaligned or changing a lens.
I THOUGHT I'd found a major error in this app. Checking against "SkEye" (another Android app) and TheSkyX (Software Bisque) which is a "serious astronomer" and professional astronomer level application, I found that Polar Clock places Polaris on the opposite side of true celestial north towards Ursa Minor when it should be on the other side of celestial north towards Cassiopeia. I checked all my local settings - which are correct, the app having read the data from my phone, directly. But, as it turns out, it was MY error. I don't HAVE a polar finder scope where the image would be flipped. Good job, Zsolt! It was - as Zsolt put it a "misinterpretation" of the reticle, due to my image NOT being flipped. My bad!
Works perfect, thanks for creating it! Simple easy to use and understand the first time. I use this every time I setup for an image session and it always gets me very close. I also dig the clocks and gps coordinates.
Great app. The polar clock shows exactly the same image and scale as my new Skywatcher polar alignment scope. GPS and sidereal time are accurate. Makes polar alignment simple.
Adding the ability to rotate the scope view and know the angle rotated is a game changer. Great app!
How cool to find an app that does exactly what you want, and communicates the information so cleanly. I think the addition of a little ? Next to some of the numerical data to explain them would be a bonus.
App is perfect, for those who wanting to align when scope is off angle, use two fingers to rotate the cross hairs to match scope. Thanks for clean app
Works great and accurately. Compared it to what I'm shown in my mounts hand controller and it's spot on. Makes my polar alignment super easy now.
Perfect, there aren't many apps out there these days which are so functional, uncluttered and free of spam/intrusive ads. Well done!
Simply made with enough information to learn how to use it if polar alignment was previously unfamiliar. Works as advertised and works well.
Works ok but doesn't always automatically report correct gps. GPS often just stays at 0,0. Will be fine if thats corrected.
Excellent product without any fluff that you do not need which can only complicat things. Straight to the point which is what you need.
Does not work in southern hemisphere, even when hemisphere is set to South and location is correct. Useless in this half of the world.
Really each to use, could use a zoom function on the crosshair to get a more accurate placement
Excellently simple. It delivers exactly what you need and doesn't bother you. Thank you for creating this app!
Looks like it does what it says on the tin! Waiting on delivery of my Bresser mount/wedge/tripod for my DSLR, and a wedge for my Celestron Evolution 9.25, then can give this App a go.
Clean, free, ad-free, a dark-mode (of sorts), all good things. Thanks!
Has everything you need to polar align using your scope. Great interface and options.
Clean, simple, intuitive, functional, and ad-free. What more could you want??
Exactly what I wanted, simple easy to use. Skywatcher reticle view is spot on. Ty
Just what I need, a simple no frills app. I'm looking forward to using it with my Skywatcher EQM-35 PRO SynScan GoTo mount.
A straightforward app that has all the basic information needed to make a polar alignment accurately.
Nice tool with a no frills display of the basic time, location, and polaris references for astronomy.
Would pay a fiver for this. Simple and does exactly what it says. No bells, no whistles, just exactly what I needed.
Apps works exactly as it should and the UI is very simple and clean!
Great app I'm very new to astrophotography but my polar aliment is always all most perfect thanks to this app 😊
Clean, smooth & functional & appears bug free :)
As other users have commented, it's simple, no frills, does what you need with no problems. It offers a choice of two reticles for the position of Polaris, one for the Skywatcher Polar Scope, and a straightforward list of numerical data. Download and installation are quick. No ads, either.
