BREAKING NEWS – Get 'Breaking News' as it happens, direct from POLITICO. The amount of breaking news alerts received in a single day depends on the actual news, as it happens. On certain important politically-charged days, such as Primary or Election days, expect more alerts than usual.
NEW APP FEATURES – This is a mechanism that we use sparingly to tell you about important new app features or changes in the app behavior that we believe to be of particular interest.
APP TIPS – This type of notification is where we can send down tips or hints about app usage. Again, we plan to only use this mechanism infrequently.
GENERAL POLITICO ALERTS – This notification type is how we push general POLITICO or app-specific alerts to you, that do not fall under any of the other notification type categories. For instance, we would use this notification type as a way to inform you about special live events (e.g., live streaming or special Election Night coverage). We may also use this type of notification to tell you about high-profile app updates.
★ POLITICO can dynamically deliver additional News, Blogs, Video or other feeds in the future, without requiring an app update.
★ POLITICO content changes several times, every day. The app will automatically check for changes several times every hour, and intelligently download only those changes that are different from the last downloaded content. If you want an immediate update, you can always use the Refresh button in the header.
★ Non-video article content is intelligently cached for offline reading when a network is not convenient.

Can't read anything, I am using Nexus 10. Scaling is bad words overlap and articles do not fill the whole 10" of screen. Will need to uninstall for now till bugs get worked out.
The app has never worked on my tablet. I keep hoping the app will be updated. Maybe in the future.
Update: Moved to an ASUS Transformer 300 and it still works great. Occasionally it will force close, but opens right up with a second tap. Don't know a about other tablets but on my thrive it works great. Nice platform for browsing.
App displays on 1/4 of my tablet screen unlike the picture in the description. Poor design and inaccurate description.
Everything is bunched together in the top left corner. Not useful at all.
This app does not format correctly for the Nexus 10 and is impossible to use.
Politico for tablet doesn't seem to be optimized for a tablet. Only works in landscape. Articles are all bunched in the top left. Can't read articles, text is scrambled with spaces and overlapping lines.
Horrible layout. Everything is bunched up in one corner and text overlaps. The app is basically unusable.
On Samsung 10 and the articles are all squeezed in the corner. Went back to mobile version.
I was hoping for an app with a widget and headline preview functionality. Also: while it may be designed for tablets, it only fills part of the screen on mine. Two strikes.
It would be really neat if this ever opened up successfully. Guess I'll use the PITA web site...
Installed today. Text only covers 2/3 of screen, bunches together to the point you can't read at all. Only works in landscape mode. Too bad
Crashes every time I try to start.
After several attempts this app will not load at all.
When is this app going to get updated? Useless as is. Doesn't use entire 10 " screen. Words overlap to the point where you can't read the articles.

Crashes on start-up. I rely heavily on my tablet for news and had high hopes - now dashed - for this app. Back to the phone one...
Want to love it, but the text cuts off on the last col and only works in landscape
It force closes the instant I click on one. The layout is nice, however. HIRE A BETTER DEVELOPER!

So poorly designed that it doesn't scale for hi-res devices. And why should I be forced to landscape?
Who hard codes aspect ratio? Lazy! Additionally the landscape version appears upside down on many tablets. Sloppy!
