Poo Goes to Pooland

Children who suffer encopresis often begin to feel that there is little more to them than the problem itself. In 'Poo Goes Home to Pooland', the problem is embodied in a troublesome character and placed externally to the child. This process aims to place some distance between the child and the blame and the shame of soiling. This helps to free them from their fears and may mobilise previously beleaguered resources within the child and their family.

'Externalising' stories have proved valuable in engaging children in behavioural treatment programmes within a family therapy context. However, you may find them useful in combination with your chosen therapeutic style.

The style and content of 'Poo Goes Home to Pooland' was designed to suit the cognitive development stage of children up to around seven years of age. Individual illustrations and accompanying text are intended to promote understanding of toileting mattersand to relieve anxiety. They cover topics such as sharing unhappy feelings and how to recognise when you need a poo.

Talking about 'Pooland' might help you to engage a child in getting control of their poo.

Bit gutting really. Had so many people recommend this. But I've downloaded it and it gets stuck on the first page. I then downloaded it onto work phone and it works but no audio at all. Seems like a great idea but not a great app. I uninstalled and reinstalled on both occasions and same problems on both phones, none are that old

Total game changer for our three year old! Thank you so much for this app. Giving it give stars for the effect it's had on our lives. Only glitch we've experienced is that the sound cuts out if she hits the play button too many times, but that serves her right!

Sound doesn't work well, buttons cause overlapping sounds to play. Page turns sometimes mute audio (why does this have a mute button on every page?). The content is what the content is, but there are all of maybe ten screens of it, and no variation or other stories that would have made this worthwhile. AND WHY DOES THE POOP COUGH AFTER LAUGHING?

Great app - when it works 🤔 This worked once and my son loved it, it really helped him, but then it stopped working! Reinstalled but no sound at all! Frustrating as he now keeps asking for it. Will keep trying, but it says app is for an older version. Would be nice if you could customise with the child's name and gender.

Good little story to encourage toilet use in little ones. For those saying it doesn't work and they can't get past first page you have to swipe left and right on your phone screen to progress the story. Could have been made clearer by app developers but still useful

Brilliant idea and hopefully will help little one with toilet training, the reason for 3 stars is that the sound is intermittent, so often we get halfway through the story and the sound narration and sound effects stop

Excellent app! I definitely recommend it. My daughter was potty trained completely after she watched it twice.

Great app, thank you for making it. It helps my child too. Wish you could customise gender of the child in the story though. Sound a bit hit & miss too at times, but if you go back a step it works again

I would give it a better rating, but i pressed play story and all it did was put ne on a screen saying "Poo was shy with people, Poo just wanted to go home" And i could do nothing else but tap. And tapping did nothing. So it did not work for me which is sad cos it probably would be a good game. Im sorry to those who had it working cos its probably loads o fun

Really resonated with my child who was stuck in a stage of not progressing with going to the toilet. Think this made a big difference and wonderfully interactive.

It is very cute and my 5 year old sister finds it very funny but the bad thing is she goes into the craft box and gets the googly eyes and stickes them on to the poo so can you change it so there less like googly eyes

Really helpful to keep my child sitting on the toilet longer and to teach her about poo and what she needs to do! Helped my little ones a lot.

Horrible gives children the wrong impression as now a friend of mine little girl doesn't want to go to the toilet anywhere else but home. Not sure how this app is supposed to help

This app is the stupidest thing that not just will take up space and storage, there is no point to this app what so ever. There is no purpose for this to be on my RECOMENDED section, this app is just straight up stupid, PERIOD

My daughter was terrified of pooping on the toilet. Less than 2 days with the app and she went to the toilet on her own and pooped!
