Porsche Car Connect

It's OK. Nothing special. Slow at times and limited functionality. Why, when it's possible to tell if my 2017 Cayenne is unlocked through this app, don't you get notifications when you might have left it unlocked after 5 or 10 minutes? It can't be difficult! I love my car BUT this app is barely OK.

As others have mentioned, never working correctly or syncing. Now the app won't stay open and Vodaphone admits it's having difficulty since its last update and no longer works with many models. They reportedly are working on a fix. This reflects poorly on Porsche. I would have expected much better and up to date technology for a vehicle of this caliber

Many many problems with this app. Finally fixed the crashing issue and now it no longer displays the correct range. Shows only 14 miles when fully charged but the car shows 23. Shows 262 miles on fuel but the car shows 446. Doesn't even show the total mileage correctly almost a thousand out. Will this app ever work for more than a week . Not good enough Porsche. Update, OK so now not only will it not display the correct information, I now have to register every time I try to use it. Complete waste of time. I can't believe that with all the terrible feedback and reviews here there is not a single post from Porsche or any contact from them whatsoever. Update 4/12/18 tried app again and still need to register everytime I open it. Now it's winter would be nice to be able to remotely warm up the car but I guess that's way to much to ask for. I GIVE UP.

App does not work as everyone mentions. It's been like this for over 6 months. Just ridiculous how it cannot be fixed in this time. All while paying for the service. If you're in the market for a Porsche beware smart app functions are currently totally useless and absolutely zero clarity they will be able to fix things. Enough for me to look at different brand for next car purchase.

App literally doesn't work at all. It used to a year ago (albeit very slow and very intermittent then!). But now it's useless, and seems it's been broken for over 6months now! It works on 1st use with an activation code, then crashes every other time before the pin screen. You have to uninstall, reinstall and requests a new activation code - EVERY time you want to use it!! Paying a subscription for a service that is useless/ unusable is robbery. For info, android 11 on a galaxy S21.

Has to be set up by the dealership. Not that much functionality for the 718 Cayman so I barely used it. Now can't access status, nor can it connect to send diagnostics. 116 days and counting. Constant error messages. Both this and the Porsche Connect app are dreadful, like the Audi app used to be. Can only hope that they will completely overhaul the experience soon as it is currently a pointless, exasperating experience.

After the Android 11 upgrade, the app won't launch. I uninstalled it and then tried to reinstall, and that won't work either. Not that I'm missing out on anything. This seems to be a kludgy european app that has left the US market as an afterthought. The app takes forever to find the "server", and the server usually cannot connect with the car at all. Probably because it's trying to use vodaphone's infrastructure before precariously handing it off to 2nd tier partner systems.in the US.

Is it possible to get any worse? Incredibly poor functionality and utterly rubbish UX. Now it nagged me to upgrade but having got the latest version several days after it started nagging, it's STILL telling me to upgrade. And has anything changed? No, of course not - it's still terrible. Hang your heads in shame, Porsche.

Absolutely rubbish, not fit for purpose. Crashes constantly to the point I just can't be bothered with it anymore. Excuse of working on it with our developers doesn't wash. Either fix it or remove it from the store and stop wasting our time having to delete and reinstall to try to get things working. Very poor.

Awful since latest updates. As everyone else here has mentioned, this app is totally unsuitable for purpose. I'm paying Vodafone a lot of money, for nothing. This is on a Samsung galaxy s10 where it crashes every time after first initialisation. Addendum: after entering the registration code, if I then "skip" the security login pin request, then it no longer crashes on subsequent opening, at least not so far!! Clearly not quite as secure, but hopefully this may help others.

UPDATE: Version 4.54.2 (26-Mar-2021 release) The new release seems *much more stable* and no longer requires constant uninstall/reinstall/reactivation to use on Android 11 devices! No other enhancements from prior versions are apparent, but at least it works now, clunky as ever, but it works! Thank you for the fix vodaphone Italia! ----------------------------------------------------- As others have posted: This app is wholly incompatible with Android 11 (Samsung S10+ on Verizon USA, Kernel 4.14.190, Knox 3.7). Worked fine on older versions of Android. The issue is consistently reproducible, across numerous Android devices. Installation proceeds fine, set your PIN, etc. Any subsequent re-launch of the app hard-crashes when the app attempts to display the PIN screen. For a brand as experience focused as Porsche is, this is *terrible* especially given that the services that require the app are not free and are currently un-usable. I'm not even sure the unauthorized movement alerts are working anymore, and that has insurance implications. Fix. This. App! @Everyone: Contact your regional Porsche customer service representative and tag this as a "Customer Experience" problem. They are responding. Vodafone... crickets. Porsche actually gives a mighty big one about their brand image. This will get it fixed.

Why isn't anyone from Porsche HQ passing on this customer feedback to the developer of this app to fix the problems that have already been highlighted? What a terrible, disappointing customer experience. Like everyone else the 'Remote' feature crashes the app immediately on my Samsung S8+ (running latest software).

I am leaving a second review as I have since contacted Vodafone Telematics. The representative said that this application is incompatible with Android 11. This is unacceptable and I am getting a refund for the remote service part of my contract. I would much prefer it to work as it did before. If I could roll back the OS to Android 10 I would but that's not possible. Now my rating is 1*.

Works once, then always crashes. It has to be reinstalled and reactivated every time. It doesn't help that connectivity is poor and several features either don't work at all or work erratically

It is insane to have the crashing app from the release in August and do nothing. Guys, you could at least revert back the previous version of the app, when it worked. You would get less upset customers and would have your time to edit the stack. Fire your coders together with your client service managers.

Latest version that's supposed to fix Android 11 issues crashes as soon as I click the message telling me to update to the latest version. My email to developers was rejected. "550 5.4.1 Recipient address rejected" I guess they don't want any feedback. Sad.

No matter what settings I try , this app will not give me notifications like the car has breached the geo fence for example unless I go into the actuall app itself. The messages are there in the app but not displayed like any other notification. My phone is Android

App closes upon startup, reactivation works once ...then same issue. Not at all working and considering all of the content to link to the car is by paid subscription and not cheap...I won't be extending after the trial.

Constantly crashes. Have to uninstall and then reinstall after having to get another activation code. No help from the dealer or car connect. It's an expensive service that I cannot use. Disappointed.

Worked a little while, but now I get Login Error 399. Have contacted helpdesk/support both at Vodaphone and Porsche. Porsche don't care because it is software related and Vodaphone does not seem to take the issue seriously. Almost 2 months now and counting. The car is a 2018 GT3.

For Android 11+ this app seems to require a cache/ storage flush and reactivation. As per most of the complaints here I had a non functional app for some time and customer support were useless until they recently suggested this. My app works fine again on Android 11.

Update: It is now 3/4/2021 and the app is still not working.. This is inexcusable when they charge money for this. Contacting Porsche customer relations since Vodafone obviously isn't doing anything. What has happened to this app??? It used to work fine, now requires an uninstall and reactivation to use every single time, and the find my car portion is gone. Really disappointed.

Just found the same problem as everyone else, loads then crashes, it worked perfectly until last update, using a Samsung S9. Sort this out porsche or Vodafone! It's not what people expect from a premium brand!

App stopped working. What's unforgiveable is that there is no alert or contact with customers that there is a problem and they're working on it. I emailed Vodafone and didn't even get the courtesy of a reply. Even when it's working it isn't worth what they charge. Not good enough.

This app will not work at all on my Google Pixel 4 XL or any other phone I have tried. Porsche makes a great car, spending that much money you would think they would have an app that actually works.

Once I put in the activation code App started crashing (Samsung Galaxy S10. Dealer tried to fix it and phoned in but was told that developer was working on it a week ago. What kind of junk has Porsche bought into.

The app seems to be work okay but the push notifications for fence parameters do not come up on my phone. I also just purchased my 718 Cayman and have only been given a 7 day trial for Porsche Car Connect. Paying full price for this service doesn't feel worth it.
