I was able to set up my Portal router with zero problems, not sure why this app is review bombed so much. When you first plug the router in you must wait until it's finished updating with the latest firmware. If you need to access fancier options like port forwarding, these things can be done in typical fashion from the website using your IP adress. Great app and router, everything is super snappy.
My router is connected to the internet yet your poor excuse of an app keeps telling me the router can't connect to the internet when trying to set it up. The router clearly has a green light indicating that it is connected to the internet. I had this problem when i bought my first portal router. I love the router but you guys can't seem to sort this out. Now that razer owns the company i doubt it will ever get fixed. Cheers, good job on cashing out.
IT USED TO BE PERFECT... I loved EVERYTHING about this Portal when I bought it a few years ago. I work full-time from home, we don't have cable or satellite tv services and we live in an apartment complex surrounded by multiple wifi networks. This Portal gave us the BEST high-speed Internet connection with almost ZERO lag. A few months ago, it suddenly stopped working. The light is green, but still won't connect to the Internet. Support no longer answers. Are you out of business?!
Has an option for chat but no one is available for support. App takes forever to refresh and will often tell you your network is working when it is really not. There we're also times when I felt like I should be able to click on something in the app but then when I clicked on it nothing would happen. All around I feel the portal product is not worth the money
Works great until it doesn't. Has Bluetooth connection but when router doesn't connect to WiFi, you can't diagnose the issue with Bluetooth, pretty much the whole system just gives up and hopes you can figure out the issue with random reset sequences.
it is probably a great router, if the substantial increase in coverage (over my Asus 68r). however, wait until bugs are ironed out. gave up after two units failed to work correctly in "bridged" mode.
Terrible app, my phone is connected to the Internet and the app says there is no connection so cannot set up my router with no other options in regards to getting set up AVOID
Absolute failure. Attempts to pair the app failed miserably with false claims about device being offline. It was online all the time. Had to connect the wire and configure wi-fi through admin panel on a PC.
After years of use the portal will not advance to the green light anymore and the app can't find it and the company has been no help but to advise me to reset it with the same results, next they said record its operation with a flash drive, did it with no feedback at all about what was found, next I was told to submit my receipt of purchase which would be years old and not available, I'm completely fed up with portal wifi's lack of support,I welcome your help in changing this rating back to 5 ⭐
Great device, but limited app functionality. Would like to have the ability to rename devices attached to the network. OS & MAC ID help to identify who's specifically on my Portal, but, recognized devices should be associated with an alias to help ID unwanted guests who may have cracked your password.
App does not login to router, tells me I have the wrong password after checking and resetting password multiple times. useless at this point.
Cannot log into the app on my Galaxy Note 10, even with the right credentials. The same credentials work on an iPhone, as well as through the WebGUI.
Over all the app needs to tweaking g for user experience. Not very intuitive,but in under 20 min I had two portals setup.
portal app wont go green anymore tried resetting light is green on the portal router but portal is off line on my phone i think they may have abandond us no support in the help section. spent all day wont connect to the app and cant get my second portal to connect for my mesh netwok either notice the router lately going to blue light to green light my first portal router is still hooked to my modem and is working i thiink cause my internet is working on my computer but still wont connect to second router what a joke going to go back to my old router
The hardware still works really well. Any one know of a way to connect the second portal to the primary without the App?
The app does not work, it will not connect to the router. There is zero customer/technical support from this company. Avoid purchasing these routers.
great application i was able to set up my portal easily with no problems i just wish people were actually rhere for the support but other than that the app was amazing and i dont know why the ap has 3.1 stars which i dont think it ahould have tbh
Used to be the best, then the company just stopped updating everything and disappeared. Sad to see it end like this.
Buggy often fails to connect. Doesn't draw correctly on the Pixel 2XL

Hi is this app still being updated (nothing since 2019)or is this hardware old now and maybe I should unplug my portal??
App insists the routers are offline while they are not.

Abandonware. The company is out of business, support does not exist, probably sold to some shady Chinese buyer.
I did not have trouble setting up the router or the app. The only problem I have is thst the phone app will not show me the devices that are connected to the router for the guest or the normal networks. Other than that, it works fine. I like that the router is not able to have the configuration changed unless the Bluetooth app allows it. Working with support via email to fix the app so my connected devices are listed but it's not a big deal since I can see them in the web gui on my PC.
