The March 15 update is terrible. I don't know who thought the new layout is better than before, but it's not. I say go back to the drawing board and start over. I find it more difficult to navigate. The previous version was more condensed and easier to use for a better mobile experience.
Original app was fine. Now it is hard to navigate, doesnt keep you signed in & wants you to do that stupid recaptcga thing on a FREAKING phone .. Lets put 9 tiny pictures on a tiny screen. A real genius musta added that.
New app update is terrible. No longer gives you the option of curbside or drive thru. Requires new login every time you use the app. Old app kept you logged in. Very annoying and significantly less user friendly. Will be online ordering less often.
This new update is absolutely terrible. It's like they went backwards in time...it has become difficult to quickly place an order now. Everything seems cluttered looking at it isn't as easy to navigate. Change it back. Why fix what isn't broken?
Horrible, outsourced to door dash, canceled my order. Took 2 hours to get my food. Even then I was missing food. Tried to get a refund still waiting.
Complete waste of time having an app that doesn't give you reward points. Only thing you can do is order your food on here.
Latest update made the interface even clunkier, and removed option to ask for light condiments on food. Please fix your app!
Please add the ability to pay with gift card. It's really annoying I had to use my card. I don't want to have to wait in line just to use a gift card.
What terrible online ordering for such a great restaurant! At least this super annoying app worked for me unlike their website that just sticks me in an endless loop of choosing between pickup and delivery. As for this app, every single time I place an item in the bag I get an upsell pop-up. Every. Time. Makes ordering twice as long. Every other restaurant sticks to just one before checkout. No problem. But an upsell pop-up for EVERY ITEM?! Too many other choices to deal with this.
app is pretty good once you learn how to navigate it. The problem is the experience once you get to the store. I've used this for online ordering about 15x now and 75% of the time the pickup counter is unattended. Even if there is someone there, you will get your food quicker if you order at the register. I order from the app and my co workers are always placing their orders after me and eating before me.
The whole purpose of online ordering is to get in and out faster when picking up your food... But that's not the case with this app. 9 times out of 10 when we place an online order and we go to pick it up we are still stuck in the line waiting and obnoxious amount of time to pick up our food. I would understand this if it were busy and just took some time to get things done but the food is also extremely cold by the time it gets to us and Sunday like it's been waiting for a while be picked up
I like the idea of bypassing their drive thru line but no savings of time here. Went to pick up only to be told order didn't go through. When I asked what I needed to do so it wouldn't happen again I was told it's just a system glitch that happens from time to time. If the app worked this would be a 4. Right now not even a 1.
Ordered a large fry but got a small instead. Ordered a chicken sandwich but got more a kin to a chicken nugget inside a bun. Used their own app, not a third party, to place the order. They still messed up. No one to blame but themselves. Wrote to their website feedback. No response. So the complaint goes here because they don't care to make proper orders or give proper feedback to their customers. Check your orders before you drive away. If you give them your money, hold them accountable.
I order for delivery every time. When I click "reorder," for some reason, it changes my order to "pickup." I don't know why it keeps doing this when I've never selected pickup and there's a reason I want delivery. When I select reorder, they need to stop changing important details. Please fix.
You can't add an item or view your cart without being bombarded by pop-up ads. By the time I was done dismissing them, the app told me I had to change my pickup window and they only offer them in 15 minute increments. We had just arrived at the restaurant and now it was telling me I'd have to wait 29 minutes for my food. Isn't this fast food?? What a waste of time! We just got Chick Fil A instead.
I tried to leave a few dollar tip and there's a glitch. The preset 10, 15, 20% came up as a dollar amount. Tried entering a custom amount and needed it to be $0.50-$0.60 to come up as $3. So since I have no cash for a tip I'm just not ordering. Just a minor fix. I'd also appreciate contactless delivery.
Much better experience lately!! They have upgraded the app and made it super easy to use now. You can customize items easily and also now you an place an order for "ASAP" timing which is soo much better than trying to schedule it. I love portillos! 🍔
After reading several other reviews, I'm somewhat relieved I'm not the only one dealing with issues. What issues? Buckle up here comes the laundry list. In all situations I've used the app to order ahead and then pick up at the store. Each time I've done this the wait time is been over 30 minutes sitting in their parking lot. The last time I went it took over 40 minutes for my food to show up. I had to ask an employee what was up, and he said he'd look. I have a feeling it was sitting there for 30 minutes with everyone ignoring it. AS FOR DELIVERY, forget about it. I opted to use their online app for delivery. And it never got delivered. Ordered at 5:45...and it never showed up. What happened? I watched 4 door dash drivers show up at the shop only to have them all leave. What was supposed to be a small wait due to rush hour orders, ended up taking 3 additional hours of no food showing up at my door. I called the shop 2 times to see what was up and both times I was completely ignored. 2 20 minute calls of sitting on hold. When I finally opted to drive over there, no one would answer me. It wasn't till a manager who showed up tried to appease me. He offered me my meal for free which was nice. I appreciated the effort, but it was still useless. His claim that he'd clear the charge never really happened either. I had to call my credit card company to reverse the charges. And just a heads up, that delivery from door dash is still pending delivery nearly 1.5 months later. Longs story short. DON'T USE THE APP.
Its fairly easy to use but there is a huge lack of customization with all the food items and for salads i can't remove more than 3 items i don't like? And there are no options to add different things or get extra of anything? And if i call to get these optons i can't have the food delivered i feel like this is a major disadvantage to customers and is limiting business for portillos as a whole Edit: Customizations have gotten worse now you just can't add anything that does not come on the food
ONLY use app to order for pickup in store. DO NOT select delivery or drive thru. delivery is via dordash. if something is forgotten or goes wrong portillos will not send out forgotten item, will only refund. Drive thru, you will sit in the line then be asked to pull up and wait. may as well just order at the drive thru even on off hours.
Delivery is always at least 25 minutes late, causing food to be cold and soggy. Terrible customer service, they keep hanging up when I try to get help. When I did not accept the delivery, the food did not get returned, and I got stuck with a $40 charge, and no food. They use Door Dash drivers as a middle man to make sure you cannot get a refund. This App has lead me to never order from the restaurant ever again, in person nor the app.
Major issue, when you set what time you want to pickup the order, it doesn't save and on the next screen it shows a much earlier time than what you selected, it appears to be the ASAP time. Please fix.
Too many pop-ups, and I had trouble advancing a screen due to not answering a question in a sub-menu. Also, no auto-fill options were available for my password manager.
The new version will not let you change an inside pick up order's time. Before the last update, I could schedule a time to have my pick up order ready; now it's only ASAP as the 2 areas to put the time and date do not work. Note8
The recent update to the app is significantly less user friendly. Having to log in and and do a Captcha test every time I go to open the app even though I didn't log out is very frustrating. I realize this is #firstworldproblems, but this is a significantly worse customer service experience.
