Power Thesaurus Free

Edited. Thanks for the quick response to my earlier post. I was not aware of the pro version. I have subscribed through your website and the app is ad-free now. I am very happy about it :) I compared the results with some other apps/sites and have to say that power thesaurus is better. One suggestion- please consider extensions for browsers like Opera, Firefox and Edge.

This is a useful app to improve vocabulary and find precise words for various expressions/ arguments. It is especially good for students and professional writers/ researchers. Just one issue: It allows account creation and syncing only through Google, Facebook, Twitter, and Apple IDs. There is no simple email sign-up for those who don't have these accounts. I won't mind paying a one-time fee to get premium version with a simple email sign-up. Let's hope the developers heed this suggestion!

I downloaded the app just to have an easy to use thesaurus for the basics, i.e. synonyms, antonyms, definitions & audio pronunciations. It does exactly what I wanted. However, what I didn't find out until recently is it has more to it, things like (my new favorites) sentences, sound like & rhymes. The screen isn't all cluttered up, just a simple side-scrolling menu for the additional tools. Way cool!

So this is a "rave review". I really dig this app. It's an expanded thesaurus that goes beyond the static hard definitions into the slight abstract meanings, but in a literary safe way... It truly allows you to expand the way you think about how you could and even should be communicating and/or possible ways your message would be understood. 5 stars across the board, content, presentation and utility & lack of ads. A must have for anyone looking to expand their vocabulary.

By far the best thesaurus app I've tried. Nice, clean pages, not covered in annoying ads. Really good selection of words, nicely laid out too. I use it all the time and am very happy with it. So good that I would pay for it. *Update* Been using Power Thesaurus for over a month now. I have been offered work back in the field of journalism. Now this is the app I suggest that my friends and colleagues use. It's by far the best online tool for language I've come across. Thanks Power Thesaurus.

I've never used or come across a thesaurus this thorough. In addition to the basics (definition, synonyms/antonyms) every word also has examples of its use in sentences, varying alternatives to direct synonyms (similar, narrower, & broader), a "sounds like" category & even a list of rhyming words. Functions above & beyond what you've come to expect of a thesaurus. Devs: Only way it could be improved is by having an offline mode, even if it was a light version & significantly lessened.

Great application that simplifies writing of excellent sentences. It has a wide range of choices for each and every word and phrase. I have enjoyed its service since the time I installed it in my phone and PC. It is also useful to learn English much better than any book or dictionary.

I looked up Thesaurus and discovered the best synonym, Synonymicon. This. Changes. Everything. This app is very easy to use and simply exquisite. I use it often in my writing and in-general knowledge whenever a word (that I must look up right now) pops into my mind. I highly recommend. Expand your vocabulary, enrich your mind, and never stop learning!

I miss Power Thesaurus from before they required an account to access it. I'm fine with creating an account, and have, but both the website and the app don't remember the fact that I've logged into an account to access the service. It doesn't save my username, it doesn't save my login, throws errors when I try to login to the account I created to access it. I'm sad about this, but combined with the results being so limited now and the app issues, I have to move on to a different service.

Perfect. Tried several others before finding this. None had the synonym for a crossword clue I was trying to solve. But this did. It's easy to use, the interface is clear and very easy to read. It even has multi-word answers. I'm really chuffed to have found something this good. Thank you!

Finally! A free thesaurus without ads and popups and videos that play before you're allowed to see your results. Genuinely impressed by the sheer volume of results. If you are looking for the best thesaurus in the play store, look no further! Ya found it!

This is useful and OK. I can see my search history, sign in my account, save my progress, and learn new words and definitions in this app, which is cool! In my point of view, I think developers need to add more design and feature in the future.

As a writer, this resource is amazing! Even better to offer an app to accompany the website. Clean and intuitive interface. Fairly unobtrusive ads. I love it!

Congratulations software engineers !! Best thesaurus app I have ever seen in my life ! Antonyms, synonyms, use-in-definition/sentence, Etcetera. 👍🤓🙏 BTW, app would be the perfect engine for someone to use learning English as a second language. I personally would love to see it as a second language for me in Spanish, French, Turkish, or Japanese which I am partly familiar speaking these languages and I'm trying to converse a little more. Many mediocre apps around, but this app rules !

It's the best out there. I've read Anne's response for my last review (where I gave 3 stars), grasped Ann's point, empathized just how much this app may just mean to its developer/s, re-intalled... Realized that... Yeah, my prior complain was just normal for such a wide ranging app—that it can miss some words, in fact I find other apps as well having this shortcoming (and more actually), and forgot to renew my review here. Sorry. This will be my primary thesau-app again!

I have a habit of forgetting words. Dictionaries and thesauruses really fall flat in solving this problem because you only really circle the same small group of close words. I used to have a "Roget's thesaurus" that allowed me to look up a word, then it's definition groups, chain to another word or definion group. Every word connected. Doing this might take a minute, but it always got me the word I was looking for. Power Thesaurus is next best thing, but scaling loose association and obscurity.

Best thesaurus app I have came across since Pocket Thesaurus; which was convenient for me when I didn't have internet for there for a while. Nonetheless, this has your typical thesaurus, dictionary, antonyms, example sentences, hashtag phrases, one click search; it even shows you what other people are looking up every few seconds! Respect to the creators. 🙆‍♀️🙇‍♀️ Review Update: The app must have recently added a rhyme section, along with a few more tabs. Check it out!

Excellent!!! Power thesaurus has a simple and easy to use interface. It has a vast base of words that covers different fields.

As per the syllabus of our Higher Secondary Exams syn. and ant. are given that contain 5 marks only which are quite crucial for a 50-mark exam.So being a non-English speaker it’s so hard for us to know the thesaurus all the time as a result this very app helps me find every single term I look for.Just love it.

I use this for my song writing, it's great for inspiration. The variation of words helps me think of new ways to phrase a complex idea in a more digestible way. Great app

As a writer, this app has been invaluable. Not a replacement for creative word usage, but a very helpful nudge when you get stuck.

So helpful when trying to find the write word. Just throw is some words floating in the noggin about what you're trying to say, and you'll find the right one pop up. Sometimes a result will give you an idea for an even better word to get your point across.

I installed this just now... OMGoodness, everything I wished for in other apps opened up right in front of me! The layout is great! The UI is very nice and I don't think I'll need to continue the search for a great thesaurus!

Excellent application for authors. Find the correct word quickly. It offers synonyms, antonyms, and a definition for a broad range of words and brief phrases (e.g. lucky day).

Glorious rapid, informative, and comprehensive literary application. I love expanding my vocabulary and this has been an integral part of that.
