Why do we recite mantras or japas 108 times ?
108 not only affects the human body but the whole solar system. According to astrology the Sun and the Moon have huge effects on humans due to the Earth's gravitational forces. Now we have 9 planets revolving around the 12 constellations that bring about various changes - negative as well as positive. It is believed that if we recite the mantras 108 times it will reduce this negativity with its positive energy.
This is a simple app which will help you ease your counting method without the need of a physical mala or counting it on your fingers.
This app has been created out of a need of 2 things:
- We need to keep track or history of when we have done our japas
- Need notifications if we miss our japas for a couple of days consecutively
The app has the following features
- Basic counting by clicking the centre button to increment the japa count
- A wave feature in the button which indicates the current progress on the japa
- The app saves how many times we have done japa in a day
- This also gives you a lifetime count which is useful if we need to do our japas for a specified count of 1250 or some other value
- We can reset the centre button count manually or automatically at any time
- Today's count can also be reset from the on screen menu (please look the screen shot)
- Reset all counters option (third option in the menu) will reset the centre button to 0 and Today's count to 0
- The history page will list out our past japas letting us know as to when we have completed them with date and time
- Provides haptic feedback or vibrations for every 1, 9, 21 counts so we need not look at the app when doing japas (9, 21 are for the shorter version of the japas)
- In the settings page "Reset 108 count on Completion" will reset the centre button once we have completed a 108 count.
- We can set a initial lifetime count in the settings page which can be any count between 0 and 99,999.
- Provides notifications if prayers are missed consecutively for a few days

Permissions
The application does requires internet permission for backups, and the Vibration permissions for providing haptic feedback.

Easy to use; nice big area to tap and vibrates after each count; keeps a historical record. There are some issues - 1. sometimes the completion bell rings before you get to 108; 2. the notification to prompt you when you missed prayers doesn't work 3. it doesn't work offline.
I thought this is the best app, till i switched off my internet! If only it had not required internet to be open it would be 5 stars. What's the use of a meditation app if you have to be online and get notifications by the dozen!! It would be helpful to have a complete offline version. Thank You.
Excellent app. I thank and wish the developer a great future. I am happy that my previous suggestion to include text box was well recognised. Another suggestion I would like to request the Developer is "to add one more counter box below Target counter box showing "BALANCE TO ACHIEVE TARGET", by appropriately deducting the Life Time counter figure from Target figure. I think this addition gives the a completeness....My regards and best wishes to the Developer.
Amazing app, but doesn't add the rounds immediately after completion of the previous rounds. Have to move to next japa and chant 3-4 times, till it updates. Otherwise it's good.
A good app which serves the purpose well. The count vibration should have option to select "none" option as well. Currently you are forced to select vibration after 9/21 etc.
Wow!! I think all apps of mala counting should be like this!! I love the DND feature and the swiftness of the app. One suggestion, please make this app available offline!! I need to go to shopping sometimes and it does not work.
Great interface, very thoughtful settings with the completion sound and all other features. All in all a great app.
Loved it!!.. but there is no reason for working online ,it should work offline. Also you should add some features like costomisable mantra written or mantra sound background while counting for flexible user experience...
This is very user friendly and apt for the purpose. If there could be some login I'd so when I use the app from some.other phone the data could get transferred would be great
Need multiple counters with title and tag. So that multiple persons can be used for multiple mantras. And each mantra could able to set deferent targets. Will be better if it's work in offline as well.
Excellent. Suggestion to incorporate clock with seconds also & text box to have desired text visible for chanting.
Why not have option to buy and remove ad? This is an excellent app, but the advertisement is distracting.

THIS IS NONSENSE. Why this APP REQUIRES INTERNET ALL THE TIME to show ADS??... So the developer keeps on earning while we chant mantra's. If you want money better keep a paid version.
Good app .. But only 1 counter... Generally Sadhak chants multiple mantras.. If we want chant other mantra.. We need to delete old counter... It could've been more organized.. Yet Better than other apps in store
Great and simple app but requirement Could you please add double or triple vibration at the end of one set ( 108 times) .
The app works only with internet connection...it wud b good if app works in offline mode as msgs might popup n it wud b distracting too
Kindly shift Google ad bar on top side, many time hand touch on that add window and counting becomes disturb.
It's very nice App but it should work offline also. It needs data Internet access always. So reducing 1 star 🌟
I like this app, but it can't work with out the internet?! I need to switch off the net and remove the distractions and then I can pray. Why does prayer app need internet?
There are better apps available where you can add more than 1 counter I needed min 3 so uninstalled it. Otherwise a good app.
App is fine but it require working internet connection to work. App will not open if there is no internet
It's a good app. But why internet is required during chanting is really a bad idea. What if Iam chanting when I don't have internet? That's why I gave 1 star.

Very good for japa.I chant Hare Krishna mahamantra on this app and it's really helpful.
Good except for some interface issues. The developer hid certain features (such as reset daily count) behind a button on the main screen so that the user has no clue how to find them. These buttons should be permanently visible. Minimalism is good but Functionality is better.
