PrayerMate

I really enjoy the ability to put in prayer requests and have them cycled through so I am regularly praying for each. I love that I can put the prayer requests into categories and select how many requests from each category I pray for each day. I appreciate the ability to set an alarm. I also really like the ability to download different already created prayer cards. I would certainly recommend this app!

I love being able to organize my prayer lists and getting a reminder to pray via notification. This app has a number of helpful features, and it's just what I needed. I've been using it for 3 years and am very happy with it.

Too complicated! Totally defeated my intended purpose, which was to have a quick and simple way to record a prayer request that someone might tell me, or to save something I think of in the course of my day. I want to add items quickly and organize them later (if at all). This app wanted me to jump through a dozen illogical hoops that I didn't want in the first place. And I certainly don't want or need preloaded prayer items. A friend of mine also tried it and never used it for the same reasons.

This app was what I was looking for. You can pray specifics for people, church, world, your walk with God. You can also create lists that you want. They have examples of what to pray for backed with scripture.

This review is aimed at people who care about their information and want tools to help them to care for that info. And Prayer points are important information. I use multiple devices so I need some means of keeping them in sync. Whilst PrayerMate provides this facility it generally does not work (see other reviews). What I mean by that is that whenever a sync fails to update the server it should know about the failure and tell you. Prayermate's sync architecture from what I can tell does not do this. It regularly misses updates and you only discover it later at your expense. In my case the failure rate is approaching 50% which is dreadful for an app. I can conclude that this part of the app is either very poorly tested or is not tested in the real world. I have raised the issues before, even from the very beginning but it seems that nothing has changed over the last 5 years. I expect that this is not just a matter of fixing some bugs but rather rebuilding the whole architecture of the sync function. Thus my recommendation that the Sync function be completely removed as it creates more trouble than it is worth. I like what is being attempted by the PrayerMate team but the standard of delivery is well below what I expect of a mature app. I know that these are not words of encouragement but it is more destructive to bring encouragement when there are problems that everyone wants to ignore and yet must be confronted. So I continue to dream and pray for a prayer app that will actually work in the real world.

For the most part a pretty good app. Needs some work still, but it basically functions the way it is supposed to. It does help expand prayer habits, and has been a good tool to get me out of a prayer rut. I especially like the free add on for praying for the persecuted church. It gives specific issues to pray for each day. I was really struggling with how to pray for the persecuted church. There are other helpful free and paid ad ons as well, some for issues, others for praying Biblically.

This app has been a great help to my prayer life. I love that I have it with me wherever I go so that I can immediately add requests (instead of forgetting them!) and pray at additional times throughout the day when I have unexpected gaps in my schedule. I love the latest upgrade of multiple cards for each topic. (I have been using the app for over 2 years.)

Although this app is very well-designed, there is one big problem with it: the auto-shuffle feature rarely works properly for me. Even when I have auto-shuffle turned on for all my lists, they are still given to me in the order I wrote them down in. Perhaps this is some kind of error on my part, but it seems that I've tried everything.

Had to uninstall and reinstall Nov 2018 and again Nov 2019 when it stopped working. Now again in Apr 2022. Even after reloading it the app kept stopping. Gave up.

I've been wanting to pray more and more specifically and I have tried so many things from getting up earlier to staying up later to journals to apps and everything in between. But since I've found PrayerMate my prayer life has taken off! I pray more often throughout the day with the reminders set at times I choose and the prayer cards are so helpful in prompting me to pray specifically. Plus it's so organized and customizable - it's perfect! Thank you so much for all your work creating this!

Never used a tool for prayer before so this is useful in that i can make additions, changes easily. In getting started i didn't fully understand the pattern of categories so put some headings in wrong place then needed to rewrite. Still, in making changes sometimes can't find the subject so start over. Better than not having an app!

I like this app but having a lot of trouble copying in particular prayers. I am sure I used to be able to easily get up a blank card under a heading like intercessions but it seems that all I can do is to enter a subject like joy and select from the given list. I use Prayermate for Intercessions in conjunction with the Daily Office as well as particular mission organisations, family etc but finding it really cumbersome. Can you make it easier to add own content?

I like that it gives you plenty of lists to include all your prayer concerns, but only gives you a certain amount each day, so you can condense your prayer time. But everything gets covrred eventually. I also like that it encourages you to pray Scripture and expand on that by adding your prayer to it.

I am really enjoying this app. I like having notifications that reminds me to pray for others instead of distract me from that. I really like all the downloadable "prayer packs" so that I can pray God's word over people or just have a targeted prayer just got them. I can also write in specific prayer requests, which is helpful when someone has requested prayer. I haven't tried the small group feature yet, but I think that might be really neat too.

I have been using PrayerMate for about a week now and I am convinced that my prayer life is becoming more organised and focused thanks to this app. I like how I can categorise my prayers into groups and that those groups can then be shuffled to ensure everything is covered in prayer the more that I use it. Adding an alarm feature has been key to creating space in my life for regular prayer. Thank you. Keep up the good work team!

This app has greatly enriched my prayer life! I have used many paper & pen systems over the years, but they all eventually get misplaced or cumbersome. This allows me easy control. The available content challenges me to pray specifically, and makes it easy to locate & pray appropriate Scripture. Very thankful!

Exactly what i was looking for when i wanted to digitise my paper prayer list ....and it has even more than i wanted, added extra value to my prayer time. It takes a little work setting it all up but that is cos there are so many features and so much flexibility which enables personalisation.

Very good app. Please make a way to sync with devices on Android so if I install it on a new device all my prayers can be transferred automatically and I don't have to write them over from scratch. Apart from this it's perfect.

Such a wonderful and intuitive way to be reminded about prayer. Too often, it's so easy to tell someone we'll pray for them, only to forget. The app makes it easy to add notes to individuals, but also does not neglect corporate prayer. Simply wonderful!

What a fantastic app. Has really helped focus my prayers, able to rotate people so no-one is forgotten and love how it makes me prayer for specific persecuted people/churches. Giving examples to hang my words upon. highly recommended, all should at least try it once in their faith journey as it may be just the thing they need.

I have used PrayerMate from early in its development. I find it a fantastic way to collect together prayer information from charities I support and to add my own prayer lists. Before this app I had loads of booklets and pieces of paper to carry around, now it is all on my phone - brilliant. I try and encourage everyone in my churches to use it, and I use every opportunity to promote its use to Christian organisations too. The addition of prayer groups is really useful for encouraging home groups

This app is transforming my prayer life. It is an ideal place to record all those items that you mean to pray for and struggle to get around to. I like that you can add your own notes and scriptures to help you pray. There are useful tools on the app if you prefer to use those. I am not sure if it can be used offline.

Fabulous way to pray... After years of being overwhelmed by many prayer needs, this system has helped me break them up into manageable bite-sized chunks. Just seeing 5 needs at a time (or however many I choose), rather than the sum total, has been so freeing. Instead of seizing up and not praying, I am finding that I can pray!

Great way to use technology for the Lord! It is very easy to setup and get started. Love the alarm feature to remind me to pray. Love the cards that pull in prayers and world missions for me to pray for. Great work!!!!

Love the layout, and love how when you swipe it ticks off each item. Was confused at the start about left and right but that just depends on what way you think about it, so I can no longer fault the app in that regard, therefore I love using the app and give it 5 stars. Thank you for the great app :)

Good but missing a crucial option. Just started using this app and really liked the features it offers. I've been praying for a significant ministry related request and just received a huge answer to prayer. I went into the app this morning to record the answer and was so disappointed to find there's no option to mark a request as answered. Seeing how God is at work through answering prayers is so important and encouraging to my walk. Please add this feature!
