Bugs reported still not fixed after a year ! Saved notes cannot be recalled – the app whirls forever. Text cannot be copied to the clipboard. When you switch to another app, it doesn't return to where you left off.
Fantastic resource, especially if you're struggling to figure out what to read for daily devotions or seeking to add a bit more to your daily Bible reading. The orders of daily prayer and short service, as well as daily writings from theologians, really supplement and enhance the scripture passages
This is basically the Treasury of Daily Prayer in app form, which is a million times easier to use than the massive book. And a fraction of the cost.
Excellent content and very useful for when travelling or for when a physical copy of the TDP is not on hand.
Great app! Makes the Treasury of Daily Prayer easily accessible and doable on a daily basis.
Good content and ease of use.
I bought this from the word of a pastor saying you should teach your family with Lutheran doctrine that you can trust, not having to pick apart materials as you worship with your family. Today's writing was from Hugh of St Victor. His views on sacraments are confusing at best... catholic for sure... detrimental at worst. I certainly am not a well read theologian, but I am most sure we don"t need to go that deep into the weeds to catachise our families. Please stick to works that can do that
Love this app. (Would give 5 stars if they made the app moveable to SD card). Basically its CPH's Treasury of Daily Prayer.
super awesome devotion tool. i can do my morning devotions from anywhere!
Exceptional value for the price
Great app for on the go prayer!
I'm glad that the normally Apple-centric CPH is starting to make its mobile apps available for Android, but a star is removed because whoever converted this app doesn't seem to understand the Android interface. It emulates the iOS way of doing things (buttons in the upper corners of the screen, menu button does nothing, etc.) instead of being a true Android app. Again, glad this prayer resource is available, but the conversion needs work.
By far the best devotional app around!!
This used to be a great app. What made it great is that you could share various parts of it with other people. You could use it to share the gospel of Christ with the world. Now, you can't. You pay $9 for an app that makea the gospel available only to you. Reminds me of how the RCC held Scripture hostage before Luther gave it back to the people. I understand wanting to protect copyrights, but how does man claim ownership of God's divine revelation?
Good concept, but poorly executed. Very buggy. I expect a lot more for the high price.
Love it. Helpful and well organised. I just wish you could hear some of the chants and music instead of just reading them
The resources the app provides are great, however the interface is clunky and the aesthetic reminds me of a 1st gen ipod touch. Again, the prayers and excerpts are amazing, but the app isn't quite polished enough for my liking. I expect that I will be picking up the physical copy of the TDP instead, but this still works ok in a pinch.
I like having the daily reading automatically inserted into the order of service. What this app really, really needs is to include all the musical notion of the liturgy, not just the words! Including Evening Prayer would also be a major plus.
Very good app. I'd give it five stars except it doesn't have all the chant tones. It's missing the 4-line tones I, J, & K. Fix this and you have the perfect app for Daily Prayer and Meditation. Thank you.
Good overall. I wish it had the full TDP content. Music to the litany would be fantastic. The inclusion of Morning and Evening Prayer would also be nice. And links to the Book of Concord would be incredibly helpful.
Would love to see the Book of Concord readings included or a hyperlink to take you to the reading.
Amazing resource for prayer highly recommend.
I just got an Android tablet (Lenovo A2109A with Android 4.1.1)). I asked Paul McCain of CPH if this was similar to Treasury of Daily Prayer. I've been using Treasury since it was printed, but it's a big book to haul around on vacation. Yes, this has the same content -- same OT, NT readings and articles from church fathers, both Lutheran and other catholic fathers. It contains about 1/3 of the OT and almost all of the NT. It will put the daily readings into Matins, Vespers, Compline, and the short orders of daily prayer from LSB pg 295-298. It also contains prayers for each day of the week and the Litany (and probably other stuff I haven't discovered yet). You don't have to be Lutheran to get a lot out of this. I do wish that the orders of Matins and Vespers would have an option to automatically plug in seasonal antiphon and responsory from the Altar Book, but I still give it 5 stars. Downgrading to 4 stars because it doesn't call up the right stuff for saints during lent/easter. CPH looked at and said it must be my android version.
This is a great app and exactly what I would expect from the treasury. Having the music for singing psalms is wonderful. Would give 5 stars if the interface was more suitable for Android. Looks like it may be a direct port from iOS, and doesn't quite feel intuitive. Also, the sufferages appear to be missing.
I switched to Android and had to have this app. I would like to see a prayer alarm/reminder to let you know when its time to pray. Especially the mid morning , noon and mid afternoon prayers. Can't do them every day but it would be a cool option to have.
I expected music the entire time I have the app open, while I am reading the daily readings. The tune plays about 5 sec.
In general works great, but some glitches in Nook are annoying, like a big band across the top with the date August 29 written.
This app offers readings for everyday of the year! I really appreciate having this tool for my daily devotions.
Excellent. Easy to use. Enjoy the orders of worship and having the appointed psalms and readings in them.
Appreciate having an app that gives daily readings and prayers for the Lutheran faith. There's room for improvement though. Where additional Psalms or alternate scripture readings are offered, there should be a link that navigates you to the scripture with a functional back button that returns you. Since the ESV bible and the Book of Concord are both available on the web, it would be great if this app would have hyperlinks to that content. Thank you.
