Great tool, but I missed passing the knowledge test by one question. From what I understand is they are constantly evolving the instrument knowledge test at a faster rate and really bringing down the pass rate, so I would ask they update this more often if possible.
Took written on Aug 2019 and passed no problem thanks to this app. Seems to be up to date.
Great app to be studying anywhere
July2020 still good, I passed
Used prepware for private, comm, and now instrument. Great for studying, easy to use and recommend to everyone I can.
Prepware is garbage. It doesn't save your progress, won't keep a test or study session saved until next time you intend to use it, even if app is kept open. How much to we pay the FAA, and still can't get some quality? Use SHEPPARD AIR! Far superior product and its privately owned! Sick of the government? Me too! Only down side to Shep. Is that you need a damn Apple product unfortunately like most aviation junk. Good luck turds!
Asa prepware is good for studying. I wish they would have a "study mode" that also included a random selection of questions rather than only by category. Also wish there was a "next" button when reviewing test questions after they have been graded.
90% on my written, these apps are great
Update 7/7/17: They have started to add the Legends to the questions which help out a lot. They have also updated all the questions to adhere to the new FAA test. Only thing I would like added is the ability to flag questions I need to work on. Otherwise, the app is working great. Thank you. Update 5/29/17: The questions that require figures are not showing all of them. They're only showing one of the figures and missing most of the legends. Please fix as this is crucial. Thank you. The questions are spot on, however, one thing ASA needs to add is the ability to flag questions we me work on. If it had that feature, which they have in their check ride apps, I would rate 5 stars easy.
I have found quite a few questions in study mode where the question is asking for information not in the graphic or where the explanation is not supported by the graphic. There is a TAS to CAS conversion that doesn't provide altitude or temperature. Also one that mixes up CAS and TAS. I would cite specific question numbers but there are no question reference numbers.
Great app. however, questions with figures with missing legend figures. please fix this asap
The update in the questions is great but the white background is too bright. Please include a night mode that toggles to a black background.
But there are more questions in the exam are not in prepware
The " save and exit "option is good but you guys shouldn't have changed the background color to white because now it's impossible to see the answers highlighted in green. Please fix this, it's really annoying.
It's a great tool for test preparation, but REALLY needs a dimmer background option, and eliminate the bug that sends a "null quiz" message on a "study session".
I think this the greatest learning tool for preparing for FAA exams the go . I cancel ed one of the leading high priced courses because I thought this was better.
For the money its a little pricey. The main drawback is the inability to save your progress. Leaving the app open in the backround as the designer says only causes the program to force close. You can't even just remember the number you left off on because questions are random. Like I said great idea but at $10 they could refine it just a little.
Not up to date questions on faa test. Took my instrument and flight instructor instrument tests today and I studied ALL the questions and quite a few were not on the faa test.
need to refine categories, NAV should have GPS, ils... Just like their books. Need ability to mark reviewed questions like all flash card apps should have. Could easily be a 5 star app... So sad :(
This is all I used to study for the written and passed the first time!
This same software got me through A&P school. These are the same questions as their computer programs at a fraction of the cost. This is simply the best way to prep for an FAA test.
Resolution on graphics poor, there should be a mode that provides immediate feedback to your answer.
Overall it is a very handy way to be able to study wherever you are and even if you only have 5 minutes to kill to stop and be able to quickly happen study just a few questions. the downfall is it does not allow you to save where you are at, their advice is to use the home button to exit and it will leave it on the page you were on. I have found more often than not while it is in the background it force closes and you end up losing your spot. Great app but price would be better at $4.99 for the simplicity.
Works great on my LG Optimus V. Pdf's open very quickly. Helpful explanations. I prefer this over Sporty's version, which I also have.
Overall very informative and a helpful study tool. Only complaint is the poor resolution of figures. I have to guess what the information is for several of the more cluttered ones.
It's very helpful my school uses ASA software to make the test and I can memorize all the answers using this application thanks
Very helpful. Explanations are great. However, figures have the worst resolution ever. Crashing all the time, Evo 4g.
Great program. I plan on getting the commercial program soon. I wish I could make new study sessions with just the questions that I missed.
Doesn't save scores or progress making it hard to demonstrate achievment but does its job as flashcards
Its a great app. I do wish I could uninstall it on my phone and put it on my computer or iPad but it doesn't look like that's a possibility. I dislike that it doesn't auto save where you left off on a test or in study mode.
