Totally useless. Couldn't get it to connect to anything. It wouldn't show wifi name and kept asking for location and access to files and camera. Thankfully the unit has a display that works, so can check it the "old fashioned way". Don't waste your time on downloading this app. If they really wanted to be helpful, they would delete this from the PlayStore so that no one else wastes time or data.

had a little trouble pairing but seems to work pretty good. picked the unit up at Walmart for $4 on clearance.. great deal. To pair it i had to turn off my cell phones data in order for it to connect to the AP after doing this it paired. It took a couple tries but it worked. the pairing process needs a little work and i think that is probably what just people's problems are related to. This could be fixed with an app update I'm sure. I wish it was open source or had an API, I'd fix it

On the second attempt, I was able to connect to the WiFi and app, no big deal. The app itself is ok, but in order to make this a good app, the phone should alert you when at temperature, not just the exterior thermometer. Also having to go into the app to check the temp is a pain. Either a home screen widget, or notification bar temperature like some weather apps do would be great.

The pairing process is flakey (as described in other negative reviews). I did find a work-a-round that might work for others. After doing the pairing process & not seeing the temperature show up in the app, try turning the thermometer off & then back on. Sometimes the restart process helps actually get a connection between thermometer & wifi device. I also agree that the app asks for way too many permissions. If all you want is a remote reading on temp, you shouldn't have to give the app access to anything!

It worked great when I first got it back in 2018. I have not used it for the better part of a year and now I updated the app and this turned into a piece of junk! Tried repairing, clearing data, reinstalling app, everything, but now it says it is connected but app doesn't show the temp or it shows wrong temp from the units screen. When I first got it I could see my briskets temp across town while doing errands. Now I have to look at the units display screen to know the temp.

In my case the install was very easy. App took me right through each step and worked first time. I'd say less than 2 minutes. Worked well through first 9 hour cook. Was able to change target temp easily. I was surprised I don't get an alarm on my phone when target temp reached. That's a big negative if it had that and a graph it'd be a 5. This works much better than my igrill app.

So many things wrong with both the app and the gage. The gage itself defaults to celcius wouldn't be a big deal but you can't change it to Fahrenheit on the temp gage at all only through the app. The gage was reading done for several minutes and the app was showing it had 10 degrees to still go. Burned food is the result. Set up a new router and now it wont connect at all after trying to reset it for the 10th time. I had such high hopes and I can't even use it now.

Great digital thermometer, app is a piece of cr... app times out on authentication, doesn't give you any indication WHY. It disables wifi every time, then crashes if you re-enable it. I finally got it to pair by connecting to my Chrome device, then switching back to home network. And why DOES it require access to my files, location, and photos, ANYWAY?

Not so great... On Android at least. Spent over an hour trying to get it to connect to Wi-Fi and pair with my Android (Note 9). Won't go beyond the Wi-Fi data screen. I triple checked the password for my 2G network. I deleted and reinstalled app, cleared all data, removed Wi-Fi network from phone, added again. Tried my wife's iPhone, worked flawlessly. Then, I made an account to login from her phone thinking it would sync the wifi on my phone. Nope. I entered user/pass several times. Errors. Bad

after some frustrations with the set up it seems to be working well. I need to go to the web page and watch the set up video to figure out why the wi-fi wouldn't work. turns out it doesn't support a 5g wi-fi network. so I switched to the 2.5g and finally talking to my phone.

This app and this time I is garbage. Can't get it to pair up. You shouldn't have to get connected to a WiFi when you have wifi on your phone. I thought ok I'll just use it as a thermometer, so after 5 minutes it blacked out, shout it's self off and can't get it to turn back on. Lowe's won't take it back so now I've lost money and time playing with this POS!!

I was going to give it a one star because after changing my wifi password I was unable to reconnect it to my wifi. I sent many messages via their website and got no response. I emailed them through the play store contact info and got a response, was told to turn on high accuracy GPS then try to pair it, that worked just fine.

This kind of works. But is really quite lame. So lame, in fact, that I wrote my own app. It permits multiple units to be monitored, allows for alarm at both hi and low thresholds, does not get killed by Android power saving, and uses standard Android notification mechanisms rather than some silly, app-specific warning mechanisms.

This app/product almost ruined our Thanksgiving. I was smoking our 21lb turkey and the alert went off Indicating that our turkey reached its internal temperature. Which that was far from the truth. Good thing, I let it cool down then started cutting the meat and found it wasn't all the way done. I hurried up and turned on my over and covered it with aluminum foil to let it finish cooking. So my experience with this app and product was not the best. I see, I'm not the only one who's had issues. Do not rely on this product whatsoever.

ULTERIOR MOTIVES!!! I'm guessing the app & device was mainly made for spying purposes & maybe for selling info. Why else would it ask to connect to your home wifi & require a bunch of unnecessary permissions? You connect directly to the device...not through your wifi then device. If it actually connected to your wifi where you could receive alerts anywhere remotely if you say run to the store & are away from home I can see it using GPS, but they're definitely not making the product feature this!

the connection problem that most people are probably experiencing is the intended design of this product. It will connect to the device, but only an ad hoc mode. this means that your device has to stay connected directly to the thermometer and while it's connected this way you will have no internet access on your device. for the price point of the device, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that they didn't put forth the effort to make the device connect to the network itself.

Had this rig for a yr and a half...back then? It sucked. Wouldn't connect. Couldn't pair. Thermometer still worked, but worthless for my phone. Idk what has been fixed since then, but what was a $25 find at Walmart turned out not to be too bad! Want 5 stars? Add a status bar display for the current temp. Would be nice to see that on a locked screen

this app is pure garbage. went through pairing process multiple times, could never get temp to display in app on phone. App looks you out if you go back to home menu, then gives message that "device is not found on server". A total waste of money. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS THERMOMETER. I would rate zero stars if Google would let me.

Having the same problems as everyone else reading a different temp than my other digital, worked good 2 times that I've used it as I have tried for a 3rd time all day will not connect to the app to save my life after already being connected from before. looks like I'll be finding another more reputable brand that will actually work

Works now, I could not get the device to connect when I purchased a year ago however I got the app to work now. CONN: Need to fix the app, the aleart that the desired temp has been reached does not sound off. I have my volume on full and still nothing.

App is junk. Resets itself every time you go back into it. Also, the temp shown will overlay on what the temp was previously when viewed. Glitch filled junk is the best way to describe this garbage.

Unbelievably unreliable app. How can you explain something as basic as syncing the temperature to the app not working for this long. I'm having the same issue everyone else is complaining about. I wish I could give it zero stars. Heck I wish I could give negative stars.

Used to work kind of. Now wont accept wifi password so it's useless using the piece of junk unit that you have to constantly mess with the switch and leave a charger hooked up to it to get it to work for any period of time.

Does not work with my phone. I followed the directions and even went to a tutorial on the net... it just keeps telling me there is no response. Nothing automatic or user friendly about this set up.

Thermometer and phone said they went through the pairing process, but it never shows up on the phone. Thermometer says it is connected to wifi, but there is a lack of communication between the thermometer and the app.

My phone used to connect to the thermometer now it won't. I recently factory reset my phone and after redownloading this app it won't connect now. I even tried doing it with data turned off like another reviewer suggested.

Works fine as stand alone. The app blows monkeys. It says connected but does nothing. The screens overlap and cant read the words. Don't bother using with phone.

Having to run through the pairing process every time the app launches is asinine. The situation is made even worse by the fact it's not stable and crashes.

Why does this app need access to the camera? Why does this app need access to photos and videos? Why does this app need GPS position? After saying no to all of these, it wouldn't go any further through setup. As for the thermometer it's self, it reads 20 degrees low, saying my turkey was at 160f when it was only at 140f on my instant read thermometer.

Managed to get it paired only to not see any temps lol. I love how they've abandoned their own product. I guess this is the last item I purchase from this manufacturer.
