They finally fixed the critical error on the app. This app and camera are back to running normal. I'd recommend this product, but caution to make sure the wifi in your home is strong. We've set the the camera up in my parents house who have a stock router, and it constantly disconnects. I still rate this app high since it's not the manufactures fault if the wifi where it's set up is weak. They lose a star for having the app down for over a week due to a bad update roll out.
*update* It's crazy that the app still has yet to receive an update even as multiple users have reported the same issues. The app is extremely unreliable and only works when it wants to, rendering the actual camera borderline useless. *end update* buggy app overall, no sound/movement detection notification, freezes, stalls, etc.
App crashes. Video freezes. So you won't get notifications. App only works in the foreground. You cannot do anything else on your phone and have it run in the background. This would only work if you have a dedicated tablet to only run this app.
A year of mediocrity then nothing... We have used 2 cameras for about a year. On a regular basis remotely we would have to try repeatedly to connect as a lot of people claim. Not a deal breaker, but now for hours I haven't been able to sign in. I assume it's a problem with their backbone provider voxx, honestly don't care, do better!
App is terrible. The camera itself us wonderful great quality, you can move the camera and speak through it directly even play lullabies. The issue is the app will NEVER connect, it constantly says unable to connect retry but fails to load. As of today I cannot even log into the app to try to access the camera because it keeps timing out. Can someone PLEASE fix this stupid app!!!!
this app has worked well for us for over a year. we ran into the recent issue of the updated app failing on Androids with a Chinese error message, but the recent update has corrected the error and everything works great again. we've been very happy with this software.
Update Ruined App!! I have been on vacation for over a week. When I got back home and my phone connected to my wifi.. it automatically updated that the app had put out. Now my app won't even open and gives an error message in Chinese?! I hope this gets fixed IMMEDIATELY
Buyer beware! App is okay but product breaks around a year....just in time for a warranty to be over. Common problem with some research, the port for the USB falls into the camera and cannot be fixed. Customer support is awful and they don't stand behind their product.
Works okay, but if the camera disconnects from wifi then the image freezes. Better behavior would be for the screen to go black. It's hard to trust that baby is doing okay unless you're close enough to see the time stamp changing.
Seemed like a good idea when we first got it. The camera is fine, no issues with it. However the app is a pain. It's a battery hog & not user friendly. It can't handle different platforms (how samsung & apple treat special characters in passwords) The app and your account must be open to view it, so unless you plan to leave your phone with a babysitter or grandparent you spend your time trying to get the app and account to login on another new phone. Do yourself a favor get a dedicated device.
Newest update the app won't even open, it just shows Chinese writing on my phone, along the bottom. It just keeps flashing it. App is always hit or miss. Rarely works correctly, huge let down.
returned to store after 2 hrs of trying to get it to work right . finally after getting the camera to link to the app just to find out it worked for about 2 minutes then offline camera ..... i can't grasp how a top shelf price product don't have 24/7 customer service ,m-f i think its9-530 ? really? 280$ highly recommend you do not waste your time !
Camera constantly goes offline or fails, but the best part is being able to see into someone else's home! I called customer service and they told me that that has never happened and then just proceed to ignore me. I returned the camera because how many strangers could see my baby!?
says it works with Google but wont show video on Google home hub. just shows a black screen says something about streaming. the box says and bestbuy said it would show the video which is why I bought the home hub. FIX THE PROBLEM
Not working on a 5G network but not allowing you to use your Mobile Data to connect is asinine. This camera will not connect to my device because we have 5G, so what's the point of this camera or the app??? I'm livid right now.
App crashes way too frequently on galaxy s8. Can't see video through echo show/ spot most times. Alexa says she cant find the camera! Needs a software, firmware and/or skills update.
The worst app ever!!! you can t connect the new cams wich look and do the same thing with the old ones....you need 2 apps for 2 cams!!! bad experience! I am returning the products asap
We are no longer able to see the cam from outside our home using our data. We must have wifi to view it. This does not work for us because we are always on the road. Is there an issue now with the cam if that is the case we may have to go with another product
Couldn't get the camera to connect to wifi so had to return the product. Didn't even get to use the app beyond the failure to connect.
Downloaded 3 apps to try and get camera to work but none of them let the camera connect. Ended up returning product, looks like most people had same issue.
Terrible camera and terrible app. Spent over an hour trying to get it to work. Got tired of the camera and decided to see how hard I could hit it with a baseball bat Turns out I still have it...
Have had this stupid camera for 2 years. Kept it out of convenience becUse it works well most of the time. It always freezes in the middle of the night and sometimes just won't connect. Now, since yesterday, it won't connect at all. It says device failed. Have tried everything and still won't work. Can't get help until Monday at the earliest and from the looks of it I won't be getting help. Don't recommend.
