EDIT: The tech support file got this all fixed in the less than 12 hours. Awesome service. Great product. I paid for the pro version back when it was a one time, lifetime fee. Now I can't go more than 3 minutes before it asks me to subscribe. It doesn't recognize my account at all anymore. Bad form. The program works great, but I lost the ability do voice controlled prompting longer than 3 minutes, and can't mirror the text at all now.

I was pretty excited about this app, but I made the mistake of only testing the free version of the app while holding my phone in my hand. After paying for the subscription, I discovered the voice tracking technology really only works consistently if you are very close to the device you're using. When I hold my phone in my hand, it tracks almost flawlessly. But if I put my phone on a tripod and move about 6 ft away, it fails so often that this feature of the app (which is the only feature I actually needed) is useless. If you're recording from a position less than 4 feet from the device, it works pretty well, but anything greater than that and it kept failing to track my voice even when I read the script word for word in a fairly loud voice. If you record while very close to your device, this may be fantastic for you. It's got some pretty cool extra features too, but it doesn't work for me and I cancelled my subscription. Cancelling was simple and so was installation.

I've tried this app on Android and iOS, many times over a few years. Always ends up in frustration and crashing. There have been dozens of times I've recorded through the app and then it crashes while saving, causing me to have to re record. I was told by prompt smart it was my phone's fault, so I bought a new phone. Crashed again for a very short recording. Plus, on Android you can't format text so it's at the top of the phone, so it looks unnatural. Lots of frustration and wasted time.

I gave this app 5 Stars in 2020 and still LOVE it in 2021! The Voice Activation is terrific. It doesn't always work perfectly, but I use the PrompSmart Remote App as my backup whenever it gets stuck. So, that hasn't been a big problem. I'll also add that the customer service has been great. Whenever I have an issue, they have always been there to help. Not sure why people aren't giving this app higher ratings. My experience has been great for over a year.

This is the best prompter app I've ever used. Has all the features I expect for professional tv production. The voice track works very well, but.... the scrolling between lines is sudden and not at all smooth (tested on two different devices). It was acceptable for one of the presenters we were filming but the second presenter found the jerky movement distracting, so we had to revert to manual scrolling. The developer has responded to my issues but unable to offer a solution as yet. The extra subscription for remote control is a ridiculous idea, as is the documentation for this feature - it took me 15 minutes to realise there was a separate app for the remote! Despite all of this, it's superb, but please, sort the scrolling issue on voice track.

Absolutely amazing! Just one small suggestion, it would be great if the users could have an option to move the text window around the screen. I would like to narrow the text window margin (feature currently exists) and move it close to my front camera so that it looks more natural and that Iam looking into the camera (feature doesn't exist). That would make it a perfect app! Keep up the good work guys!

This is an excellent, well designed app, and I'd love to recommend it to anyone needing a mobile teleprompter. For all of its features the subscription models are very reasonable. However, at time of posting this review, Canadian users cannot choose the lower subscription option. I've spoken to the developer who assures me that this is a mistake and will be corrected, but I'm reserving that last star until they do. I appreciate the time and effort they took to be of help. Looking to improvement!

First, I need an option of no video Behind the text at all. I cannot read the text in any color or size with the video behind it. And I don't need to see myself. Second, please keep the text being read as close to top of screen as possible so it looks like I'm looking viewers in the eye. Third, please allow the text to flip upside down along with phone when phone is in vertical mode, because it looks better if my eyes are above the lens vs below. I will be thrilled to change rating afterwards.

Video recording glitches, skips, leaves gaps in the audio, or audio gets out of sync [Edit: with videos longer than 4 min]. Most of the videos I've recorded with this are unusable. And I use this for work. Looking for a better app. [Edit: I did contact customer service. Their reply: "We are also aware that this tends to happen ... Our team is currently looking into fixing this issue and other video issues." So this is a known problem which they do not make clear in the app description up front. This app is only reliable for videos shorter than 4 minutes.]

Wow, this this doesn't work at all. I imported my first script, and has a spinning wheel that says "starting VoiceTrack". It was doing that for 37 minutes before it just went back to the edit screen. Now when I click play it flashes the same dialog box and immediately goes back to the edit screen over and over. It won't let me play my scripts at all. What garbage.

Really like the app when it works - however, I bought it years ago when it was a one time fee of $20. Used it yesterday with minimal glitches. Went to use it today, and suddenly getting a notification that I need to either purchase a new subscription or upgrade if I want to use it for more than 3 minutes. I was previously told I was grandfathered in when it went to a subscription model so I'm not sure why the sudden change. Unfortunately as I need it TODAY looks like I'm paying extra for now.

Extremely frustrating. I got it for filming my daughter's YT videos thinking it would help speed things up. Hasn't really worked that way. The biggest issue is the inconsistent voice tracking. It will work ok for a while, then will just stop. Using a remote to prompt the next line will often stop the voice track completely and needs to be reset. I like that you can import scripts from Google drive, it's easy to see and the mirror function is good, but the voice issue makes this almost unusable.

great feature list! I had problems getting the video recordings off the device, but support helped me with that. ideally I could record video while using voice tracking, but those two options don't work together. this is a pretty nice package for recording all kinds of talking head video at good-enough-for-YouTube quality, just needs a little more polish.

A little difficult to figure out at first but, I like the app enough that I'm upgrading to the Studio Bundle version. After reading some of these reviews again here are a couple of hints: *Use the smallest font you can so you have the most amount of text on your screen and when you get down toward the bottom of the screen, slow down a little bit so the text has time to come up for you to read it. *Buy yourself an auxiliary microphone for your phone. * Check YouTube videos for advice.

This is a remarkable app. $20 is amazing value. I bought it because of the VoiceTrack. I'm not an Android fan but bought a cheap tablet ($80) specifically for this app. I also have an Android phone that has been in its cardboard box for over a year. I dug it out and installed this app on there, too. I can load the same script onto both and turn to face either device and continue reading. Brilliant! I have a teleprompter gizmo arriving in a few days for my camera. My only criticism is the time it takes to load VoiceTrack on the tablet. I assume it depends on the size of the script. The example Ronald Reagan speech did eventually load (2 minutes) but the Winston Churchill one seemed to hang the app. My Android phone on the other hand loaded each script in a matter of seconds. Nevertheless, for $20 this deserves 5 stars. I'll be signing up for the subscription, too, so I can include stage directions etc.

A very bitter experience. I have paid for this app first the pro version. It showed an error in payment processing, so I clicked again and this time in hurry I clicked extended. Again showed error in processing payment. I gave up. By chance looked at the credit card statement and was in for a nasty surprise. 2 payments of 34.99 euro and another payment of 29.99 euro deducted. Contacted google and got a standard automatic reply that it does not meet our refund policies. Contacted the developer and was told that it is not possible as the google controls it. On top of all this the program still is not activated. So a total of 65 dollars deducted for a program which refuses to activate and keeps asking me to pay more. It is just crazy, and then to be shunted around like a football. My frustration is with google, why dont they have a customer service number which you can call. Their automated reply system obviously is a disaster. I can only say stay clear of this app till they fix the issue of non activation and proper refunds. Let me also add a word of caution, this is not a monthly subscription which you can cancel , all the money goes in one go. So if you are not happy you lose all the money.

Not worth the cost...it is already expensive, but then they charge more for add on features. I was able to create a better product on a free app. You are also limited to how many total minutes of video and audio recording you can create and save. Pretty ridiculous for the cost...it took me less than 10 minutes to regret my purchase.

I absolutely love the voice recognition. Being able to read from a teleprompter at my own pace, and go both faster or slower without worrying about losing my place is awesome. I use this app on an LG V20 (works very well). One of the other amazing features I love is being able to periodically stop reading from the teleprompter, add in additional notes and the teleprompter stays at the last place I read. It's a bit pricey but well worth it in my oppinion.

This voice recognition teleprompter software is a terrific idea, but I don't think it's perfected yet. It works fine for a while, but then all of a sudden it inexplicably stops scrolling. The current version is not usable by me. I give it a grade of A+ conceptually, but a D+ for functionality. Please notify me when this software comes out of beta-testing, and I will purchase the final debugged release version.

I was frustrated that they went from one time payment to monthly membership, but they replied quickly, and let me (a legacy user) keep using it with no additional charge. This really is the best teleprompter app on the market. You can adjust text size, invert text for the teleprompter, & best of all: have it track your voice & only scroll when you read what's on screen. If you're a youtuber or just want to make scripted videos for whatever reason, this app will save you so much time.

I tried many prompter apps but have decided to buy the subscription for PromptSmart because it is so good. The interface is easy to learn and there is lots of scope to customise the text. I especially like the VoiceTrack feature because a life-like speech runs at different speeds, with different length pauses. A set scrolling speed doesn't allow that. I am having to train myself to use it properly as VoiceTrack does get stuck sometimes because I speak too quickly. There are a couple of improvements I would like to see: 1. Having the scripts sync to the cloud file instead of having to re-import after chagnes 2. Being able to move where the arrow and highlighting appear on the screen to match where the lens sits in a teleprompter cover. Maybe there'll be an update!!

This is hands down, the best teleprompter app for Android I've used, and I've used a bunch of them. The voice track feature alone is worth the yearly subscription price. I am a one man shop that produces YouTube videos and being able to use my teleprompter without a second person operating it, or needing to wait for the prompter to catch up with me, or needing to slow down is great. They make it easy to import your script and make edits on the fly. Thanks for such a valuable tool! I couldn't be more pleased.

I would not recommend this app. The pricing on it is crazy. You now have to rent this software instead of being able to buy it. Seem like you pay to rent it for 6 months what you used to be able to buy it for. Well, I thought I should at least give it a try to see why it is worth such a sum. It is not, IMHO. The free trail stinks. I couldn't even change the font size without being nagged to rent it. I tried the voice prompting (claim to fame) and it couldn't keep up. Often the text that I needed to read would be on the bottom line. There in a vignette and the bottom, I guess to give focus the middle line. However it also makes that bottom line is harder to read when the voice stuff gets stuck there.

Installed this app a week ago. takes a while for the text to start moving, but I can live with that. Problem now is that it KEEPS CRASHING!!! When I hit play to load the document, it stops and crashes. Tried restarting and all the obvious stuff, no joy! What gives!? Fix this, I don't have time for an app that isn't reliable and $29.95 is not cheap for any app!

This is a great package, the scrolling keeps up with your voice. Love it. When the package is installed, the video and audio record are switched off - so turn it on manually. This helps you get familiar with the package. It can be used with third party hardware (ie mirror horizontally or vertically). The best bit though for me was the awesome support. Jeremy really cares you get the best use out of his software. The help was fast and accurate. It deserves it's star!

I tried this application in German and it's not really working for me. When the application stops tracking your speech, repeating the previous words doesn't make it catch up again. That does not seem to be as much of a problem in English. Since I create content in English and German, the application is only so so useful. On the other hand one should probably be glad already that it's somewhat working in German at all.

Works great with my Samsung A7 tablet. Using it for a couple weeks now and not finding any issues. Using it with a teleprompter setup and a video camera for training videos. I suggest using the companion phone app that lets your phone control the script on the tablet through a bluetooth connection. It seems to work well also. Good for backing up the script to repeat a section as the tablet is sitting with the camera.

I originally gave this a 2 star review due to the following issue, but found a suitable workaround so I upped it to 4 stars. If they take care of this issue I'll gladly give this a 5. I have a major gripe with this app. No Chromebook version/support. Chromebooks come with HDMI out so I can hook up a bigger monitor. Other than that it works fantastic, on my phone and tablet. But those dont have HDMI output, so I cannot utilize a bigger screen. The workaround was using a Chromecast to cast.

This app has never worked how it's supposed to. There are consistent issues with importing scripts...which is one of the main functionalities. Furthermore, once files are able to be uploaded, the formatting is way off from the original document. Very sorry I purchased this app. Even the updates did not fix the problem.

I got this and was prepared to pay for it because of the voice activated scrolling. But it doesn't work very well. I continually had it not recognise what I was saying, which would wreck a video take. One word off the script could stop this function. Thank goodness they have a 7 day trial, I cancelled after 3 hrs. There are apps a lot cheaper that do what I need, since the voice activated scrolling is ineffective with promptsmart.
