Proximity Alert
Here's what you can do with this app:
- Remind yourself to wake up when you get near your destination while taking public transportation
- Call a phone-based remote garage opener as you drive up to your house.
- Warn yourself about known traffic cameras and likely speed traps.
- Download today's agenda as you approach work.
- Warn yourself when you have wandered within a kilometer of your crazy ex-spouse's house.
- Send text messages to your friends when you arrive.
Usage Hints:
- GPS location reduces your battery life. When the phone is asleep, it will check for location every 4 minutes to conserve battery.
- Long press on the map to place or move an alarm.
- Use the Geocode Address button to try to find GPS coordinates for your alarm.

This app used to work flawlessly for me when I was using a Samsung Galaxy Note4, now it hardly ever works on my new Google Pixel 2. Makes me sad because I am narcoleptic and this app has saved me from sleeping through my train station several times, but now I can't count on it at all.
Wonderful app than even works without a data connection. As an avid hiker, I frequently need to hide a hiking item that I realize that I should not have taken on my hike. On my way back, this app helps me locate it by playing music as I approach it.
Works very well for me. I work in rotating shift and i fall asleep in bus on my way home, especially after night shift. I have missed my stop quite a few times before installing this app. But now it wakes me up before i reach my stop. Although it works without GPS, but for more reliability, turn ON the GPS when setting the alarm.
Works the best of every proximity alarm app I tried. Too bad it's so far down the search results. Only 4 stars because I feel like it could be more gracefully integrated into Google maps.
I use this to remind me when I am driving past a store or to send a text when I get home. Map interface is is a little wonky, but everything else is good.
nowadays, does not alert until you manually reopen app at destination. was perfect a time ago
This application works perfectly. The only important piece missing is the ability to export/import settings. It would be great to keep these settings under revision control.
Ideal for sports events. Data connections are not always available in forests or mountains. Text messages are much more reliable, so next team member can get ready for next part.
Work indoors / outdoors and runs 24/7 on Moto X with very little hit to the battery. Great way to let my wife know I'm on the way home. Would be even better if trigger of one geofence could arm other geofence(s).
this is a usefull application. im also into developing this kind of proximity alert application for my project. if any one knw how these kind of applications can be made please help me.
Promising app but let down with the 4 minute refresh and by the fact that you have manually enter lats and longs of points of interest.
Not accurate enough when on a train. By sampling GPS only once every 4 minutes means it is impractical for use on trains.
Never worked right. Alarm in the middle of the night at home for the grocery. NEVER once did it alarm when needed. No way to set recurring, have to reset every time. Better than most though.
This is the dumbest thing I ever seen. There are no instructions how to put in the alerts or how to delete the one alert that comes with.
I have used this on the train and road trips. Fantastic, though not if you have a data only tarrif, as no email/im function.
Works flawlessly. Use it to wake up when my train gets to the station. And no ads or spam! I'd give the guy $ for it if I could.
this program is pointless if you cant search for addresses. Program doesn't run in background so alerts doesn't work
alarms are not able to wake up the phone with display off it seems. So for me pointless
Works very well with GPS on all the time (battery usage ok Note 4). Initially a bit of trial and error to set map area for alarm to sound, but now goes off as required - very useful especially bus and train journeys. Only issue is when alarm sounds and you miss or fumble the 'turn off' screen button, can't see how to turn it off without restarting the phone!
