If you have been issued a National Identification Number (NIN) by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), you are welcome to download this application to use as a complement to, or in place of the National Identity Card.
NIMC is focusing on ensuring that all citizens and legal residents are issued a digital identity.
To this end, there must also be a secure, trusted means of verifying that identity.
All you need do is download this app, enter your 11-digit NIN, your mobile number (you may only use a number associated to ONE NIN), set a PIN and you are done.
This app may also be used to verify the identity of others, or someone else may verify your identity.
That person MUST be known to the NIMC and must have purchased a subscription either directly from the NIMC or from one of its approved and licensed agents.
If you submit the QR Code in the app for verification, you will be able to see who verified you and when.
NIMC will very soon, in collaboration with FRSC, FIRS, NIS and NHIS be issuing Mobile Driver's Licenses, Digital Tax Clearance Certificates, Departure Cards and maybe even electronic health cards, conformant to and compliant with International Standards (ISO).
We use state-of-the-art end-to-end encryption to protect your identity.
There's a portal available at https://dashboard.nimc.gov.ng where you may log in to check or print all the verifications you may have made.
You will need your UserID and a PIN from the app (located in "I Need a PIN").
If anyone wishes to verify your identity using Proximity, YOU decide what information to share. Gone are the days when you need to submit your Passport, Driver's License or Voter's Card which contains much more information than the agent requires.
If the verifier DOES NOT need your date of birth, then don't show it! If the verifier needs extra information, you may enable the same on your profile. But we will NEVER share personal information such as Next of Kin, home address and so on. NEVER.
NIMC has other platforms for that.

Very frustrating. My phone number was different from that showing on the platform. Went to NIN office and filled all documents to change the phone number. For over 2 weeks, app still telling me "something went wrong" when I fill in my new number. Never gotten past that stage. Non chalant attitude😡
Great improvement in the aspect of electronic functionality. Convenient to carry around in your phone. You may forget your wallet but hardly anyone forgets their phone.
Aside the fact that you have downloaded or probably want to see your NIN, the app isn't beneficial. Not even for you to validate your Existing NIN in the face of an update. Even the nimc portal link which has USERID and OTP doesn't permit access. Honestly you guys need to do better. I have processed a name change for close to a month and several emails sent to your team without response. I don't understand why process can't be automated. I would say no point downloading this App. Period!
If there was a rating of less than one, that is what you deserve. I have been putting my NIN number to start the process for the past 6 months and it keeps saying, "someting is wrong try again" I wonder how a nation can not get an app that can function effectively as if the technology to make it work seamlessly is not available. This is 2022 not the 90's. Technology has advance to a level that you can process billions of data in less than a second. Please stop playing with our intelligence.
I couldn't log in due to the fact that I don't make use of the mobile number I used for registration and it's really makes no sense for a national app like this,it's should be optional,emails was taken during the registration,so I believe emails will help in place of lost numbers and the number can then be change personally after gaining log in access by the individuals
Original phone number is missing some digit I rather give one star , original phone number incorrect missing some few number this mistake coming from mwn nin agent because i gave them correct one , it can't be edith or change in the app, only add up new one can't receive otp code , no option to add ur email so how do one update info in the app? because is not working i come back to rate 5 star if these options are added
Unable to link NIN with sim. Even after update and verification. It is obvious the developers not checking the reviews and not responding to communications. this app is very poor in not providing the basic function even as described in the screenshots above. You need to do better 🤨
This app is useless. I can't even see my linked numbers. Fix this nonsense you call an app abeg. Naso anything Nigerian made dey always get comma. Totally rubbish. I can neither link, unlink nor see registered numbers. What rubbish. When I refresh, I see "Attention!, No data available." Nonsense.
Is this app really working? I have updated my phone numbers but it's not reflected here. The app is still showing a number I no longer use. Once I imput my number it will just return the error message" oops something went wrong". It's very frustrating.
It work perfectly and easy to link phone numbers as well as printing the colorful ID without issues. Kodus the government. It took less than 5 minutes to configure and link my info.
I have tried so many times, couldn't log in, "the system detect an error, check the number..." The number was correct and on the NIN system, why? Or does it react to other network which was (not originally) registered with the NIN? Why the bug?
Missing phone number registered sim lost few years ago cannot be retrieve OTP Still refer to the number which make me not able to access. Parmanent NIMC on mobile or plastic print out. There is need to create or major the can verify Access to the initial number user. Commitment is making physical process difficult to get back OTP which might drop into contact user who might be able to easily recover other details of the initial user . Thanks but improvement is recommended for security.
You can view both sides of the card on the app but after paying and downloading, you can only see the front. That is not correct. The back is as important as the front.
The app now deserves 5 STARS! It's so good and awesome. I never go to any NIMC center to que for ID card; neither do I go to any service provider to link any of my SIMS. I did everything here easily! My NIN is digital. I do recommend the app.
Absolutely useless. When I type in my NIN, an error message pops up. The message states "something went wrong. The record returned an error. Pls check the number and try again".
It has been an awesome experience all the way. Those complaining about phone number update and other information not reflecting or flagging error message should ensure Validation is done anytime alteration is made on their records. Visit the nearest NIMC OFFICE close to you to make inquiries about VALIDATION.
What's wrong with this app..? I've been inputting my NIN number but it seem not to work. I normally receives a notification that says something went wrong in our service Don't panic our engineer are currently working on it ...why?
I got my NIN numbers verified over a month ago still I can't access this app. It's so pathetic! It keeps saying link your NIN with NIMC. It is ridiculous when I have been using two(2) of my lines over a month now. Something urgent needs to be done on this app. It's too disheartening...
Worst Database ever. You have been rolling out new updates that have payment status which did not involve the former payment status database 😲😲. It will be best to input RRR code to generate payment status for those that have paid before you started upgrading your app. NIMC MobileID tech guys want to extort or what??.
I can't even view my Link mobile numbers. Each time I try to what I usually get is network request failed. It's been like this for months now. Kindly fix this problem.
My experience with NIMC MobileID was excellent. I was able to viewed my data with photo and I was able to linked my registered mobile phone numbers.
I updated my name .. at the local government where I registered for the nin.. but on the nimc mobile app, it is not showing the updated name.. it is still showing the mistake that was done when I registered at first.. please help me out
It's been a week now since I changed my phone number but the only thing is tell me was "something went wrong, Record not found " it's absurd. Please 🥺 fix it for all of our convinency
To me, the app is 0. I have been to NIMC office to validate my NIN for over a month now yet the app is still telling me that no record is found of this NIN yet the record is showing on NIMC system. and NIMC office can not resolve it hence can not asses my mobile NIN card
Very annoying app. I paid for premium card through ussd code and up til now it has refused to confirm my payment. My advice is to go to an NIN office and dump this app
Terrible. Dull and indolent people parading dull and indolent app. I applied for and duely processed a change of phone number on the 28th of March, 2022, up till now, it has not been effected. I If I had needed it immediately then, the need would have failed. Even now that I need, can't get it. It's so terribly frustrating.
