Runs surprisingly smooth with no issues at all. Graphics look better than usual PS2, no glitches or ads if you get the paid version, if not, there will be 30 sec ads constantly. You might not be able to save the game properly if you don't have the full version. I was only able to save state which can cause issues. One small negative is when you come out of the game, it resets the emulator, so save before checking guides on your phone when going from chrome to the emulator app and back again.
Laughable amount of ad walls and "pro" version pop ups, this emulator has a coin system in order to play any of the roms you have which requires watching more ads, it's pretty disgusting. Do not download this app get AetherSX2 instead, it's free and the roms run perfectly fine without system tweaking, at least for me. Unlike this excuse for an emulator which had graphical artifacts.
With a bit of tinkering, the 10 dollar price tag makes the difference between Play! And other PS2 emulators out there. I run off of OnePlus 9 and it plays DMC rather seemlessly. Looking forward to testing more. Edit #1: Omnimusha 2 is playable when there aren't too many elements on-screen at once, and Alone in the Dark is playing with no bugs BIG EDIT: Dropped my rating from 4 stars to 2, AetherSX2 is a new in-development app that is not only free but is far better than the ancient code here.
Not sure how to fully test the emulator when I have to constantly watch ads to resume it. They place buttons on the screen you accidentally hit and then have to use a coin to resume. Not paying a penny until I can tell if it works effectively.
I counted within 10 minutes of booting up a game 5 different 30 SECOND ADS! If you pause a game better believe you have to watch a 30 second ad to resume. 30 second ad to save, 30 second ad to start game, 30 second ad to boot compatible BIOS, and doesn't allow input device controller use even for paid "pro" version (I typically use ps4/ps5 for other mobile emulators). Big waste of time.
Adverts are unskippable and you have to exit the app. Plus it works on a coin based system to play your own ROMs - so I watch more ads where I have to exit the app and don't get a reward, or pay to access MY OWN ROMs. Terrible app. I couldn't even vouch for it working or not as I couldn't get that far.
As long as your phone has good hardware (2.8 ghz+, 8gb ram+, etc...) You should have minimal issues playing most games. May have to tweek settings for some games but I have been able to play through several games. Currently playing through Romancing Saga near the end. Pro version is definitely worth it as long as your phone has proper hardware.
I made the immediate upgrade to professional version upon getting the app, I would strongly recommend it as DamonPS2 plays PS2 games phenomenally. Even 'The Godfather' where as I've had no previous luck on Emulators prior to this one. Truly 10 stars hands down if given the choice.
I've never seen an emulator with ads before. That's the slimiest thing I've ever seen, don't waste your time. Even if you do manage to wade through all the ads, there's a chance your game won't even work right because the code is practically ancient
It's a pretty good emulator, at least the faster one that I've tried for Android. Unfortunately the Xbox series controller does not work properly even after paying for professional, would be 5 stars if the Devs could fix this
Works fine and Playing the games I love..but relying on the web to play is horrible. It keeps checking before you play..not so good..once a better ps2 emulator comes...deleting this one...it's ok for now..and plays well. License verification is annoying..and inteferes with me starting the game. When a better PS2 emulator comes dump Damon..
Solid emulator maybe some simplified graphic settings for the less advanced user would not go amiss, or an explanation of the settings. Having said that the app works like a dream.
I payed for the pro version and I'm highly satisfied. The app has also improved alot since I got it. I have Shadow Hearts, Shadow Hearts 2, Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts 2, Persona 3, Persona 4, Suikoden 5 and Final Fantasy X. All work fine. And now there are even cheat codes available. Honestly it's a great app. The low reviews are from people who don't want to spend 10 bucks or from lower end phones which may not run the app correctly.
Not necessarily perfect, but the free experience is definitely one you can't complain much about considering the whole 'free' thing, paid features are definitely worth it though
I made an impulsive buy without testing the gamepad play in the emulator, well technically you can't check how it works on the gamepad because it is limited only for the pro version. So I bought it and the game gets stuck in "l2". If you play DBZ the player just keeps powering up. I would never recommend this app and demand a refund from the developer (who i know won't give me any). For this who are reading this review, Just download aethersx2. It supports all controls and gives haptick feedback
Can't play games because the app doesn't let you navigate your file system to find your games. It just throws ads at you pretty well and asks for certain permissions it shouldn't need and that's about it. Definitely needs to be fixed. For all I know this app is a collecting your information and free and money.
Scam. Downloaded to test it out and paid for the full version but everytime I try to play it sends me to the screen to pay for the full app again. I've contacted the email listed on file and never got a response. Don't waste you money on this app.
This is what I was looking a ps2 emulator, obviously needs some improvement on the map controls settings and a game pad support like Ps4 controller and others. After all it's a pretty good emulator, time ago I was waiting for playing ps2 games on my phone specially (Máximo ghosts of glory) a game that I usually played 20 years ago now I can play this on my Oneplus 7tpro McLaren Very good app!
I've been using this app for over a year. Paid something like $5.69 one time over a year ago and it's still working. Almost every game I've played I've been able to finish with little-to-no issues. Not sure what the complaints in other comments are for; the ads go away and you have unlimited use of this app after paying the one-time $5 or whatever fee.
First one or two game startups are free, then it starts costing coins you can either buy as a micro transaction or watch a few minutes if video. Don't switch apps or go to home screen or it kicks you out and then you have to buy your way back into the game you were just playing.
Do NOT but from within the app. I did because it was cheaper, but I still don't have the full version. The company is non responsive to get it fixed and Google won't refund my money because they say that purchase wasn't within their term of service. Basically I got robbed. It's really all I can call it.
Smooth game and easy to use but only if you buy the full version. After testing I went ahead and bought it. Worth it I think though I do wish it had a few more features and didnt require an internet connection to play so I could play on airplane flights.
Bought the Full version but it doesn't work without an internet connection. There's a much better emulator now called AetherSX2. And it's free. Go give that a try instead of wasting time on this garbage.
Works well, I got the paid version so I can use the extra functions. Runs top end ps2 games without issue. If you are experiencing gameplay issues then the problem is likely the phone isn't good enough.
The developer of this app is nothing but greedy. Ads everywhere in this emulator, the only emulator I've used that is like this. They stole the source code from the PCSX2 developer. I'd recommend Aethersx2. They use the same source code but obtained it legitimately and have no ads at all! It's still in beta but it's miles better than this.
Not good, not good at all I bought the full version and it works, the games i loaded play beautifully except for one thing, THE SCREEN IS BLANK! The app recognized the bios and the game, its just that the graphics were not rendering AT ALL! One of 2 things may be wrong here. Either i'm doing something wrong or there is something seriously flawed with this app.
