Love this app but lately it's been so buggy on my Pixel 6 Pro. Constantly refreshes in the background. Hardly ever stays in memory and then have to clear it from memory and restart the app or it says my account is out of sync. Just kind of annoying to use lately. They add new features but don't make sure the old ones work first. Chart also doesn't work right a lot of the time. Just little annoying bugs.
No payment for order flow, only traded on lit exchanges. This is the way. Edit: I reduced from 5 stars to 1 star, now back to 5 stars. An app issue that caused me to be unable to buy a stock lost me a decent gain. I reached out to support and sent screenshots, and after a long delay they are allowing me to retroactively buy the shares at the price I was attempting. I was fairly angry through the while process, but I didn't expect such an agreeable outcome. Thank you Public.
On April 24,22 at 7:30 am, tried to login and unfortunately forgot my password, till now have not been able to log back in my account. Reached to support team via email, mind you that's the only way to pulic customer service for assistance. After several emails, sent a copy of ID and other personal details for verification, still not been able to login in App . I was asking to uninstall and reinstall the app, update, did all that still doesn't work. Don't know what to do anymore.
Love this. Super easy to use and understand . Lots of options. I like being able to see what other people are trading, great way to be introduced to new invvestments. Also every one has a description of rhe company along with a bunch of recent articals so you can research all from the same page.
So far I only ever have thesame problem with any app for investing for instance not having any special notification options to set as a reminder in that I'm on 2nd shift alot market is closed and just basic options like a widget for quick view and operations on the go and unfortunately that seems to be a trend that has a purpose on the devs end other than that amazing app
Better than any other online crypto currency trading app, especially with technical support. Everything else out there I've checked out for over the past 2 years and public sets the bar and the rest, end up coming out way short with regards too, everything involving online trading or investing.
Besides the severely frustrating, repeated asks for me to share the app with friends (a pop up AND notification that pops up twice daily) with no way to turn it off, the app, it's simplicity of use, and educational and social aspect are great.
This app is the worst of the worse, I tested this app out with $100 to see timing and accuracy. 1. You buy a share at 18.50 by the time you click through all the prompts to confirm you have a very high chance of losing money I lost $25 this way. 2. The time between buying and selling is a huge time loss and you aren't able to see the changes in this time/screens. 3. If you buy said share for 18.50 you will somehow be -negative simply because your phone and app take to much time
This app has a long way to go. Trying to use this app caused me to lose out on a 13% gain. It did not want to let me add my account or debt card. I now have bought some crypto and everytime I log in and check out my investments it says error..... very irritating!
Easy & simple. 2 cons - no trade options & the app can glitch/lag. I uninstalled/reinstalled but get prompted to update yet store dosnt have update available. ** As a newer investor I like it's simple layout. Team is there via msg for help, chat/posts feeds are creative and enjoyable to engage in, and the themed collections for you to browse is useful. Live updates in the a.m. is cool! As with any platform you still need to do outside research but Public is sufficient to get started and learn 🙂
Good. I started investing as soon as I could and it has been easy and understandable to invest. The only criticism I have is that today (may 26) I opened the app, there was a connection problem and one of my (free referral code) stock disappeared. However I think this is most likely a temporary issue and will be resolved soon.
This app freezes all the time. I hate that I have to post after every transaction. Also, I've noticed that change has been coming out my buying power without my authorization. With everything that is going on with this app. I don't trust it.
It was already an "average price" per stock; that's why I said it. Anyway, the rep over email "refreshed my account" and fixed it (for now). It's even harder to trust you after the response here tho like I don't know what I'm looking at and couldn't also see the money missing in my total holdings. Like I was told via email, it was a calc error you're aware of, but who knows what would've happened had I traded before the error was fixed..? Like I said originally... Track all your transactions!!
The app is really cool and I enjoy it alot but there has been so many times a stock has gone up in the afterhours/premarket and I can't even sell or buy in the afterhours. It's quiet frustrating because I have loss money because I have not been able to sell. It would be awesome if you guys introduced premarket and afterhour available for us to trade. Other then that I love the app. The friemds and the ableness to connect with others on the platform is awesome as well.
Has become much more stable for me over the last couple months. Still has some trouble loading charts on occasion, and I wish they hadn't taken away actual numbers in the EPS chart, making that pretty useless.
They will fight arm and a leg to keep you from withdrawing money and them take a big ol percentage when you do. Had to very my bank 3 different ways to withdraw but no problems DEPOSITING. Unintuitive app, bad layout. Not the service to use.
Sorry but the UI is atrocious. Get rid of the "all caught up" section completely - it is exactly where we scroll down to get to the stocks...the stuff we actually want to see. Modules should be moveable so that buying power and those buttons aren't so unnecessarily huge and on top. The main top graph is also just too big and almost useless. A LOT can be fixed.
I KEEP GETTING A MESSAGE TO UPDATE THE APP EVERY TIME I OPEN IT THE APP IS UP TO DATE! It used to be a great up and still is to the point but it was been so buggy lately doesn't load when the app opens have to close the app and reopen 3 times before it finally loads the information for the day.
Edit: 2 stars to 4. Great app overall. I feel Public has been pretty solid so far. My only concern right now, I'm randomly asked to update app when I open it but there is no official update through the Google play store. Kind of strange, I think. I'm hesitant to update. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
I had recently had a problem with my account and Mary from the support team helped me figure out and problem solve the issue to eventually solving it due to my idiocy lol. Thank you again Mary for your help, without you I was probably going to use a different investing app but public is one of the best with an amazing support team that helps you quickly and can diagnose the problem efficiantly!
I enjoy the lessons and earning money each lesson. The public app is an amazing way to connect with friends like Facebook is for sending messages and pictures of the people we care about. Public created a space for beginners and experts in their future investments and their help is invaluable and yet it is free. The app has made positive changes to platform. The chat feature is so great to use if you have any questions. The customer service is excellent.
This has taught me more about myself and what I can and can't do than any other experience I've ever had. Self control, disapline, asset management and more I've learned I can not jump and sell and get what the others were before Public. The entire community is fun and willing to teach and learn this is a world of continual learning and my knowledge has grown leaps and bounds keep up the good work guys. Suggestion box: maybe have a few more chart types or just candle sticks just sayin
I use this to buy fractional shares of stocks and crypto. It works well for me. I like that you are not required to pay for trades but you can tip to public if you want. I don't like the overly simplistic charts, I had to go to other websites for more detailed charts to understand price fluctuations. You learn a lot from reading other people's posts about investing which is the real benefit of public! Plus it links you to current articles for each stock which saves me time.
Pretty decent, wish you could zoom in on the graph to see it a little more live action. However adding money is weird, they only approve small $50 deposits at a time. Idk if you wanted to invest $5,000 it might take a few hours of adding $50. Also withdrawing money is much more difficult than adding it
Absolutely horrible app. Do not go anywhere near this app. Trust me. I never write reviews but had to this time. I had 2 different days where there were glitches and literally lost out on making tens of thousands of dollars on trades. They offered me $5 free strock as a compensation. Are you serious? $5 for missing out on a $20k trade? Customer service absolutely sucks. Worst help center ever. I just transferred to Robinhood. Not a single issue.
Great gor learning , and investing. This app does not charger a fee but when you buy say a crypto that crypto will show your purchase price say a percentage higher than what you actually bought iy for and when you sell it it sells lower than what you actually sell gor. I believe that is the way the company gets paid. It is a great place to invest though. Keep that in mind.
whatever you do don't trust this company with your money. I had multiple instances where they doubled what I tried to invest. I try 100 it will go through 2 times for 100. After they realized that an obvious problem was made bc two transactions had the same time stamp they give me a free 3 dollar stock. I Wake up today to account out of sync all my money gone 4,000+ they can't explain why don't have a number to contact and can't keep proper communication through email customer support.
Honestly some of the features are a Lil bit hidden like how to sell a stock. long press the name of it and it gives you an option. But besides that it's really cool to be able to invest in both crypto and stocks on the same platform. The customer service team is great and quick to respond. (thanks Jeremiah👍) also they will be implementing various features as time goes on, and those features would benefit the user tremendously. I'm glad I downloaded the app.
Constant spam. Don't bother leaving the email subscription unticked, they'll proceed to email you regardless with constant badgering about how you can earn more free stock by referring friends. Free stock amount for making your first deposit is a joke as well. Between email and push notifications I've received 33 total in 24 hours constantly asking me to refer friends.
I've only used the app for 1 day so far. App froze on sign up, would not close or continue and had to force it to close. Graphs show nothing at all. Forced to make a post every time an investment is made, baby button doesn't work most the time. Sometimes the app never opens and just shows the logo then a black screen. No options to not receive an email for every transaction. Very laggy and quite unusable. Going to leave the investments already deposited, but moving on to a different app.
