Puffin TV - Fast Web Browser

That's good job. I apply this app to work with my job. It is easy to use. Every one in my company interest to learning and to use it.

It's the only decent web browser for Android-TV, yet instead of being free it became quota-based. I can't use it for however much I want each day. Otherwise need to pay... Edit: Developer said it's a generous thing to offer it for free, but generous compared to what? Developer has forgot it was free already, and that all other web browsers are free and never have a quota. Developer should try other web browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Opera,... Changing this to 1 star till developer will remove the quota and have a real generous offer compared to others and compared to what it used to be. Edit: the app was free. Now it's not. I have to pay for it to use it freely. Now I can't use it freely as opposed to in the past, so it's not free.

I won't completely trash it like many are for the subscription. It is a functional browser, and works with the new Chromecast with Google TV well. It may even be the only one as far as I can find. It can play videos in browser, and generally functional. For that you deserve more than 1 star. However, your price plan does not. Yeah, $10 for a year subscription of anything is negligible, but that doesn't make it sensible. I could do it without thinking, but I have such a hard time supporting that model because its frankly anti-consumer to charge a subscription for your app like this when you're not needing any major server upkeep or anything. I could understand a $10 one time purchase (still would be high mind you) but to expect that regularly just seems like you're trying to exploit the market. It doesn't even have the options for tabs so I can keep multiple pages open. If you had some deep settings like I could customize navigation on the remote and tabs, and if you had some more specialized integrations than QR codes then I might understand more. But it just feels like you're on the edge of exactly as useable as I could expect at the bare minimum past playing videos, and that I should be happy to pay for that. Unfortunately, I'm just not sure I am or that I can recommend anyone else does so either. If you rethink your business model to a one time payment, then call me and we can talk.

It could use a few tweaks such as the pointer, instead of having to hold down the button to move it, it would be nice to either have a tab option or just better control. Holding the button down makes move past the point you're trying to get to and repetitive button pushing is very tiresome. not everyone is using a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard on their Smart TV. More options to change the layout and dark mode options/theme would be a plus as well. Other than that I think it's functional for a browser. Subscription wise, I think more features/user control would go a long way to make it more user friendly and acceptable.

I enjoy the app and I don't mind spending a little to use it, but one thing I'd like to see is improved bluetooth device support. I have a little handheld keyboard with a trackpad that I was hoping to use in conjunction with this app, but it seems the native Android TV bluetooth mouse cursor and the mouse cursor in Puffin TV conflict with each other, rendering the native cursor difficult to use with the app. I'm having trouble trying to explain it but if you try to use a bluetooth mouse for yourself you'll probably see what I'm referring to. Hope to see this worked out in an update.

Browser works great until it tells you you hit your browsing limit. I don't really care about any of their server side optimization, just the basic browser functionality with ad blocking. Why is that so difficult to get on a tv? I'm not paying a subscription for a browser. Maybe if it were like $3.99 one time I'd use it. How about offering the browser as a normal browser, and add the extra 'speed' from whatever server processing as a subscription? I hated amp pages and don't want any of my sites processed server side anyway.

The only good internet browser for Android TV. As the app is optimized for TVs, the interface is good and easy to use with the TV remote and pages load fast and in full screen without any clutter like URL bars. It has good compatibility with media streaming sites supporting all functionalities of all webplayers I tested including full screen and subtitles. I think most of the negative reviews are due to the app requiring a subscription, but I think the $1 dolar/month plan is a fair price to pay for now as there are no good alternatives.

The best web browser for Android TV. Navigation with the A droid TV remote is easy and quick. Bookmarks and videos are all fully functional. It used to download files but not since the latest Android update. It has a bunch of useful suggested links to web pages.

I’m using this app on the newest Chromecast and though I love the app, after the limit kicks in I’m unable to pay for it. I have 2 cards on my google wallet and google play credit and it constantly tells me to add payment methods even after rechecking and editing in every way to try to get it right. I’d really like to pay for this app but it just won’t let me.😕

Seems to work for https but will not connect to a local address that is http only. earn that it requires a subscription to work. This is a browser. A basic tool, roughly equivalent to a hammer. I’d gladly pay a buck or two, but Can’t imagine paying a dollar a month.

WORSE THAN A BAIT AND SWITCH: Absolutely NO mention whatsoever BEFORE installing this useless app that it will suddenly STOP working after 10 or 15 minutes and DEMAND payment with NO recourse to QUIT or even select the "Maybe Later" button!!! Worse still, I made the mistake of using this the very first time in order to stream a LIVE movie screening that could only display within a web browser.

I have subscribing to pay one year. Now this browser stopped loading on my drama. I have to uninstall and reinstall it daily now for it to open. Also I see movie stalls and slows down i also to keep uninstall and reinstall on work for it to open. Very Annoying. Very poor browser in my view. You can helping saved me a lot of time?

Only reason I need a browser on TV is to display google slides but when puffin opens it, it zooms right in on the top left corner like a focus input. Can't find any way to disable in settings and while trying to change the html in the page it tells me I need to subscribe after only 2 days.

It's an amazing app. I could go to whichever website without installing any application. It's quite cheap for monthly subscription. I wish Puffin could offer a whole life subscription for users. It would be more convenient if I could purchase only one time.

I find that i like it, better then any others on a Android TV, Now I have only one issue. The other day when i went to sign in they requested no demanded that I must pay, either monthly or yearly to use the browser and the cost was 5 us dollars per month. I will use for the month i paid for and after that bye bye puffin

The developers should look into the possibility of saving passwords. It is time consuming to enter credentials every time you visit a site like dailymotion or youtube to view your stuff. Other than that, I love it.

I have 4 screens that need to connect to 4 different sites all the time. I have 1 yearly sub and one monthly sub, The screens are mostly now saying that Ive used my quota. I cannot find a way around this. It worked fine for a month and now its unusable.

Google's own web browser Chrome for Android downloads everything including apk's, yet you can't download anything from Puffin TV rendering this app completely useless. If you can't surf AND download, then why bother? It's up to the users whether or not they want to download things. It doesn't stop people from downloading from other browser apps on the Play Store, it's ridiculous. If Google doesn't practice what it preaches, why remove the download ability?

Hi. I have received an email to remind me that my annual subscription fee is almost due for my Puffin TV browser. It states in the email that I have chosen an automatic renewal option. The only problem is... my card details have changed since last year. How will the annual fee be deducted then? Should I just wait for the payment to be rejected and wait for a payment failure email? 0 stars if I could. Was a solid 3.5 before the subscription service. Don’t pay for this, its not worth it! Too bad this was the only decent browser on Sony TV. Gonna have to get a firestick now for firefox. I’m not paying 99p a month just to browse something every so often on my tv. Cmon google put firefox or chrome onto your playstore. Or even microsoft edge. Just anything Is better than this disgusting service.

Useless junk. It will not block ads. It will not block Flash content. A browser should be made free for all to use. Have you seen Chrome or Firefox charge users for using it? It is not worth any amount of money, not even mentioning the subscription service.

Use it on my Android TV with no problems. Don't know if it matters that I'm not cheap and paid for a yearly subscription. Figured for $20 l could expirement. Give it a year. If I don't't like it I'm out $20

This was the best browser for any Android TV and with the latest update the download feature is gone that's a downgrade in my opinion. Kindly fix it.

Used to love it, but now is rubbish. Performance is slow, barely drags itself. Also the download was deactivated for long time now. It's a 0 star rating is I could choose. This app should be removed from Play Store if developer no longer updates it

A very dubious app, Awkward and difficult to navigate, no passwords entered are accepted to gmail, dropbox, etc!!! This renders any login pages useless.

Dear Puffin Team, I installed and tried to open primevideo but it is asking to update the chrome browser and there are no options to update the chrome browser as it is not showing any toolbar button. could you please let me know how to update browser version inside puffin tv. Thanks

I am having the same problems as another user reported with the nvidea shield, It use to work but now it keeps restarting over and over again. Have uninstalled, cleared data etc but no effect.

When browser are stops working, it totally useless and ending up to pay subscription fee. But I cannot afford to pay this.
