The apps is smooth and easy to navigate. I like it most for its Latest News tab. The images are clear enough and accurately descriptive. Thanks for ssving me the stress of chasing vendors about, for giving me access to current happenings in the world and for accurate information provided by the app. It is an awesome app. Keep it updated often as need be.
The app is nice, easy to use and I'd recommend it although, there is a section for saved news but I don't see a button to tap to save the news. That's one issue. And I'd really like to get well arranged and compiled old news at least 6 months back. If there could be a section for archives, it'll make the app much better.
Punch, what's the big idea with the pop-ups? Who does pop-ups these days? They are annoying. They can't be closed, and whatever you do they still take to you to their desired page. Using the app now makes for an unpleasant experience. Can't see a single response from the developers of the app to any of the complaints of the users. Not expecting any to this one either. If the pop-ups continue, we may be left with no option but to uninstall. Reducing the stars to the lowest possible.
I rated two stars before but now I would rate zero if I could. There are just so many things wrong with this app. The new one is the pop-ups. It makes no sense to advertise a news article while I'm reading one already. Worse, you cannot close the pop-up. This app used to be good about 3 years ago. Since then, the developers have found new ways to make it more annoying with each update. Readers have been complaining for years now with no change 👎🏽
Dear Punch People the recent popups or news flash you bring up while one is reading is very bad and annoying. Appart from distorting readers flow of concerntration, it is unnecessary distractions that makes reading your paper no longer enjoyable. I mean, what's the point, the same news item is there in the 'latest news' drop menu? Then while one has chosen a news to read, you are bringing up unecessary distractions.
I used to enjoy this app. But the software now projects a large and intrusive square onto your screen , in the middle of each news story, thus blocking your view and preventing you from reading what you wanted to read. It has completely destroyed the app's ease of use and enjoyment. I had to delete it.
Some features contained in the previous version were missing. Such as toggle read, save news etc. Both read and unread news appears the same, there is no 'education' segment as it was in the previous version. Please improve on this. Thanks
This app, 3 or 4 months ago was absolutely awesome and user friendly but lately, nasty and distracting headlines won't stop poping up every minutes - one can't even escape/ignore it by pressing "back" button. It's so annoying. Am sick of it. Unfortunately, nothing has been done to fix it yet. Sad!
Totally useless. Minus zero rating if possible. News alert or pop up block app and its not editable. Notifications constantly block readers views. Turning off the alert does not stop the nuisance alert. Also about the last 2 paragraphs lines of news items are omitted ensuring readers never really get all the news report.

It crashes almost every time. Even after you just open it. Before I could read for 15 minutes on it, it would have crashed like 4 times or more. And also, no periodical updates to improve the app. This is very bad on the part of punch.
It crashes always. It's totally poor i can't imagine why the app crashes always, it is so unfortunate i had love for the punch app before. But now i'm totally dissappointed. It doesn't refresh manually. When refreshed it shows back dated news of 7 days after not the trending and recent news. Developers should fix the bugs.
It was a great app until they introduced the annoying pop ups. You can't close it and you can get as many as twenty of it at a time. Why would I need the dump pop ups when I am already in the app. Please, remove the pop up or provide a means to close it.
I always enjoy reading your news, but recently I started seeing some useless pop up on the news app, when is it a force to read news that you don't want to read, the most Useless part of it is that you can't exit from the pop up in the app You are forced to read it. Nonsense
Nice app with lots of error. Crashes often. Too slow to refresh. Too many pictures. Kindly go back to the old app, or you fix the errors! I have stopped reading punch till u fix the glaring errors. Thanks.
Hello Punch. If I were asked some weeks ago what my favourite news app was, it would have been undoubtedly the Punch news app on my phone. But it breaks my heart immeasurably as I now have to struggle with unnecessary and disturbing news pop ups while reading through news on the app. The annoying pop ups override whatever one is reading, and more irritating it is when you try cancel it or even even open it, and it takes you the the Punch website. I will really appreciate if this untoward act.
So heart breaking now that unnecessary news pops up on my screen when I'm reading a particular news. The most annoying thing is that when you clear the unnecessary headline, it returns you to the beginning of the news you were reading. Do something urgent before you start loosing subscribers because it's too annoying, waste of time and waste of data
Most of the cool features in the app aren't working ; night mode, notifications settings, etc. The only cool thing about the app is the UI. The formal app is better in functionalities.
Good app with just one major flaw for me tho- clicking the notifications sent by the app doesn't open the app
The dialog that pops up to inform the reader of a new story obstructs the flow when reading another content. Some of the stories don't finish and some contain certain hex codes or encoded characters that are not useful to the reader
I wonder what THE PUNCH is aiming at with all this unnecessary pop ups that keeps disturbing whenever you are reading other important news on the app. This pop ups has become so annoying 😡 of recent, as they keep forcing me to leave THE PUNCH user interface and directing me to a browser.
Punch..! Your app updates is the worse experience ever. Instead of getting better experience, your updates makes past editions of your app better. I have never encountered such retrogression ever! This app is the worse app on my phone. It hangs my phone unecessarily. I can hardly read the daily news on it without my phone being bugged to hang. Total rubbish! You guys better improve or shut down your mobile app.
This is worst update one can receive from a news app. The older version was much better, there is provision for offline reading and one can swipe left and right, all these are lacking in the update. I think it is a deliberate attempt by punch to make readers frequent their site thereby making more money. Its a big shame to punch.

The frequency of notification of breaking news is very annoying and it can't be disabled. It should be optional. It has made this hitherto good app become very bad.
App is not as good as the previous one and keeps shutting down by itself. Navigation is also no where near as fluid as the previous version.
Recent updates were good efforts at improvements. However, I noticed the app keeps crashing after every 3mins or so. It's kinda frustrating. Pls fix it.
Another awful update. You have now completely ruined what was once a nice news outlet..... EVERYTHING!!. From poor arrangement and layout of news items to tiny font size that one would require a magnifying glass to read! TERRIBLE!!! I wish I could rate it zero. Pls go learn from Daily Post
Unstable is the name. This app is the most unstable app I've seen in a long while. It crashes every single time. Just open and read for about 5min and it must freeze. It's just annoying.
