Purity - Safe Browser, Porn Block Filter App Block

This app provides a great tool to detoxify from unhealthy use of technology .Helped me to stay productive. I highly recommend. Customer support is quick and effective. The browser/app is well made. Great investment overall.

I love the browser, but don't understand why they limited what apps could be locked now. I used to be able to lock any app I wanted to. Now, only about half can be locked.

Overall, it's an effective app. However, what's bothersome is that images are blocked but if you click the image it pops up view file. You click to view, and you get to see the image. With that being accessible, the image blocking is pointless. That issue needs to be resolved to truly block images. Also, there should be an added feature to allow access to the accountability partner to see their history. They could still get away with stuff if a loophole is found.

Excellent App! Works really well and easy to use. Highly recommended as a security measure and to block any unwanted websites. The functionality within the browser is very good.The only thing I don't like is that when the phone is completely locked and then unlocked a pop up comes up "be faithful to your favorite browser" you then have to go straight into the browser before you can use anything else on the phone. I would encourage this to be taken off in the next update. Also the ability to drag the app icon into favorites would be good. :)

Such an amazing app. I wanted to install a clean web browser because the usual browsers are so annoying and tempting with all the pictures and filth. The safe search filters in the normal browsers don't help at all. This browser makes a world of difference. The fact that all images and pictures can be removed makes things so much easier. I also like the fact that you can block key words in the browser. Finally I can use my smartphone in a clean, refreshing, and productive matter. Amazing job 👍

Purity enables you to "lock yourself out", as it were, from any temptation. You can disable other browsers which then require a PIN to set up again. You can also choose to have someone else set the PIN, or set it randomly yourself so that you don't remember it, as well as set up an accountability partner who would be alerted if the app is uninstalled. After trying several different apps that didn't work with my phone, I am very grateful to have found one that empowers me to live in freedom.

Purity browser is a great app that works really well! It has excellent safeguards in place to really prevent someone from using the internet for impure means and it blocks all other browsers, which is a great feature! The only drawback, at least for computer/window users is that this app is only available as a Chrome toolbar extension. This means that you can open up a "guest" tab in Chrome and Purity's browser settings will not apply. It would be nice to have a full browser for windows.

UPDATE: 11/14/21. Since the trial completed in 2019, browser images have remained a personal weakness as well as a workaround in most filtering apps. I've decided to return to Purity because it's the only system that enforces Safe Search. There's nothing I would change about my original review! I've been looking for a Google image safesearch lock. This app is easy to use and has everything I was looking for. Responses to my many inquiries during trial was very prompt and useful. Thank you!

This app is what I've been searching for for a very long time. It's really really the best browser on a mobile device for those who are trying to stay clean. For those who are fighting and struggling for the sake of staying clean. I always ended up relapsing due to some abrupt images poping up, but in this browser, you can easily disable loading images and videos which will help you stay away from those devastating materials.

I like the simplicity of this apps. It gives you exactly what you expect, blocking everything that you didn't want to see. The words blacklisted are strictly blocked and sometimes even the harmless ones. So you need to make sure of the keywords that you wanted to block. There are still some websites especially ones with pop up ads that are still able to evade the strictness of the apps. Overall, this is truly the right option to choose if you're looking for a safe way to browse.

Great app, what's neat is that in addition to it blocking certain sites, you can also add/ custom-block sites as well. It has the capability of not loading ANY images or videos from websites (for those who want an extra layer of protection from overstimulation - however you can change that in the settings if you want a less restricted, yet still pure experience). Thumbs up!

Definitely the best filter out there. Highly recommend it for the simple reason that it works. If you set it up to make it as strict as possible, including using the accountability pin, there is literally no way around it. It is such a great help. I know it costs money, but it is definitely worth it. (Yearly subscription is actually cheaper than monthly so...) Also, love the fact that one subscription works on multiple devices.

Hats off to the Family First team for another stellar app! Pete and co just keeps crushing it. I love that the images/videos are optionally disabled. Great for when I'm super tempted, just turn it on and boom feels like I'm using a flip phone! I lock all the troublesome apps, and use them through Purity. It's a new found freedom, a weight lifted from my shoulders. Thank you all, doing the Lord's work (literally)!

I am searching for and testing apps like this to protect my children when on the Internet. Overall, this one works quite well, but I am finding that it is not blocking embedded videos from Vimeo. Also, if you are not using the option to block images and videos on all sites, children would still be able to access many inappropriate images and videos accidentally as well as purposely.

I installed the app to try it out. I couldn't access a zoom meeting, it was unable to open the link. I went to play store and clicked uninstall. The uninstall is not working. There's no menu to take me to settings. Help! I am stuck! I received a message from the developers and have been able to uninstall the app. They have advised me to use the zoom app instead of using the link I received in an email to log into zoom. I appreciated the help from the developers and am giving it a four star. If sometime in the future I use it purity more extensively, I will consider revising it.

Had Funamo for awhile but it stopped working, poor customer service, plus could be uninstalled. We tried your Detoxify, but we wanted to be able to use key words, block browsers, and protect from uninstall. The blocking of pics & putting in key words is important since sites are sneaky like that. Even subtle pics of swimwear or workout gear can trip you. No incognito access either. You covered it all, very thankful!

Only thing I'm disappointed in regards to this app is that I didn't know about it sooner!! Also what's cool is that you can actually have them set a random pin for you if you don't trust others to remember the pin for future if it's actually needed! You can block other browsers and apps. It does the job phenomenally and couldn't be better!

The best in my experience, I've tried many content controlling apps and this by far is the best. Lets you control which sites you want to access and block as white and black list, has block the domain feature with a push of a button which is great and has its uses, blocks apps and my favorite which this app has rather than others is the ability to block images and videos even if they are templates or headings in webpages Thank you for this lovely app.

This app will work if all else fails. Lock your app store and you're good to go. I feel so safe and at peace with this being my only browser. Thank you family first technology for another incredibly innovative app and absolutely A+ service. The only thing I would add is an option to select your own search engine. Very happy with the performance and features of the app.

This app is great...when its not crashing..and yes I've tried the app on multiple different mobile devices on different operating systems/versions. After several emails asking if a particular loophole would be looked into, I was met with silence for over a week and counting. This particular loophole isn't even hard to trigger. It was triggered accidently on my part...this is a huge oversight that I hope the devs look into and address. Until it is, the app is essentially useless for me.

App turns itself off and it has nothing to do with the Samsung s21+ operating system... the operating system works wonderful with all of my other apps...Purity needs to address this issue and stop blaming it on the users or the operating system...also the other issue is when the phone screen goes off and you turn it back on it pops up saying uh uh, stay faithful to your browser and says I was trying to Uninstall when that is not the case.

Very easy to use and straight forward, so far no issues. Very intuitive. Love that this also has the option to block images and videos etc. My only critique would be to have a randomly assigned pin option similar to the Detoxify app. Aside from that, worth every penny!

Blocks every single image from viewing on Google so you can't tamper with it. I put in a random pin that I didn't see so I can never take it off and cheat. If you need to, you can contact them and they'll give you a pin in a few hours. This is just what i was looking for to block all the temptation online. Amazingggggg
