The ads are obnoxious, 1 per level, & if you're playing the level mode, after fifty levels, the puzzles start repeating. Also, its easy to collect all 52 "Q*Bert skins". So, I didn't like this at first - too easy. But then I switched to Arcade mode... Ironically, even though it's the same triangle level every time, there's much more variation with the monsters, and tile-switching mechanics, so the arcade mode is much more replayable, and that's the real selling point. I recommend this for that.
This game is very fun and I've almost collected every qbert in the small amount of time I've had the game, but I do have complaints. There are so. Many. Ads. After you beat a seconds long level there's a 50 second ad. Screwed up and want to retry? You get an ad regardless of whether you want to retry or not. It's insane! I get having ads but this is just too much even for a free experience. Regardless, I enjoy the game. It's a fun and cute timewaster.
It's a good game but there are SO MANY ADS. After every single level it plays one! And then it asks you "hey do you want to double your coins for this round for an ad?" But if you say no, they're going to run the ad anyway and you don't get the boost. And God forbid you rack up a lot of coins and want to get new costumes, you'll get an ad after 2 purchases.
Q*bert has always been a gimmicky boring arcade game, but now Sony has brought it to your phone with countless ads and micro-transactions to make the experience even more unbearable. No effort was put into making this game interesting and fun. The main story mode comes up with a few interesting ideas and rarely builds on them, just recycling and re-using level design from 3 levels ago.You are forced to watch at least 16 ads if you want all of the currently available skins. Dont waste your time.
Gameplay is fun in all, but I have two problems with this game. First, the ads are too much. There is an ad every 1-2 levels! Thats ridiculous! Paying for no ads is way too expensive. Second, after you complete 100 levels, there is an infinite sign replacing the level number. After that point, the gameplay is just the same levels all over again. Playing the same levels over and over again gets boring pretty fast. I decided to unistall the game because there is no point in playing after 100
I saw this game and had to try it! Unfortunately, it's a shallow Q*Bert experience, and it drops you back at the title screen after every level, but only after showing you an annoying miserable ad, and trying to get you to view more ads and pay them some kind of weekly (?!?!) subscription fee. Whatever the opposite of recommending this game is, I do that.
This was a fun game to play, but what I relly hates was the fact that after completing a level u will see an ad. This game has somewhat of a challenge, but nothing close to the challenges u will see in like a puzzle game of some sort. All in all the game was sorta fun to play, but the fact that there are basically too many ads makes the game a bit out of touch, cuse imagine having to wait even longer after completing a level just to watch an ad.
this isn't even a game, it's a vehicle for advertisements. controls are more accurate than I've seen in some swipe-to-move games, but they've made it too easy by the colors staying instead of changing back when you jump on the same block more than once. but again, none of that matters because you spend more time watching ads than playing anything.
The game itself is fun, more fun than I remember on Atari back in the day. But the ads are relentless. The free version is way more ad time than game time. And even after you pay $3, they constantly try to trick you into clicking ads. I wasn't sure about the swipe controls at first, but they do work quite well. But I do still wish for a joystick. I want to try with a gamepad and see if that works.
This game is good and fun, there is alot to unlock. So its a good way to spend your extra down time. My only issue is the ads. There are ads LITERALY everytime i finish a level. It gets really annoying. You cant skip it either so you have to sit for a whole 30 seconds before you can progress to playing again. This is expecialy annoying because the begining levels or 5 seconds long, then you have to sit through the add and then do it again.
Yeah, this certainly is Q*bert. That part of the game holds up, but when I press the skip button when the game asks me to watch an ad for a prize, I expect the game to skip the ad. Instead, I was watching ads for free when I just wanted to play Q*bert. This happened after every single level. Don't even bother. Look elsewhere if you want to play this arcade classic.
The game is very nice and retro. Definitely reminded me of the old arcade games. What irritates me is the constant ads. When you complete a level, you have the option to get more coins if you watch an ad or to continue. Either way you get an ad. That is some EA garbage right there. Let me skip the ads if I want to or just give me the bonus coins regardless since I am seeing an ad anyways.
So charming and fun! I absolutely loved the aesthetic of the game, the characters you unlock are super fun and a really fun reward! The game isn't super challenging but thats not a bad thing. I love to play this to just relax a bit and just have a nice time. Music and art and colors are super charming and true to original. I'm begging you to add more levels, rewards to unlock, events and stuff like that. I was quick to buy no ads version and I'm glad I did but would love to see more content! ❤
This app is really good and works really well. The install was quick and it is overall a nice package. The only issue I have with this is that there is occassional gameplay between ads. It is quite annoying. Im enjoying my ads and all of a sudden I have to play through a level. I really want to know about that addictive game that only the startest can reach the level 2 of.
Ok usually when people say 'there are to many ads' I dont really bother paying attention to them. But this time it's really true, most of the levels (at least in the beginning) are really short and for some reason after every 2-5 second long level, I have to watch a 10-30 second ad. Ruined the experience for me and I ultimately uninstalled the app.
Over the top ads! This was my favorite game as a kid and it still has some of the nostalgic feeling. Game play is smooth and still fun. BUT, the levels are all super easy in the beginning, only lasting 10-15 seconds each. And there is an ad after every level. So many ads that you are forced to either pay the $3 to stop the ads or quit playing all together. I QUIT!
WAY too many ads, too frequently. There is an ad after every level. Even if you opt not to watch an ad for a bonus, there's still an ad just to continue, and every now and then you get double ads; not one after the other but one that starts in the middle of another ad that have to watch in order to finish watching the first ad just to be able to continue playing. It's pretty pathetically and crassly designed.
1. The "sound" in the game acts as both sound and music, so when the music box is checked it's just the same soundtrack playing over the original one. Why is that the problem? For some reason when the game gets interrupted by an add (and that will happen at least every time you beat a level) the "music" gets delayed while the og music isn't. The solution is to turn off "music" in settings. 2. The "watch a video to revive" doesn't do anything. The same outcome happens if you just press "skip".
Entertaining & fun to unlock all the avatars. Initially, the game glitched when I tried to select a new avatar & again later at a boss 90 or 100 lvls in, my 'bert refused to move & the screen would go to black (music& effects still playing). After trying a bunch of times, I was able to get it to work. The ads were annoying when online, but thankfully didn't play w/out data. This game also seems to go on forever: good if you're looking for a distraction, but not if you want to beat the game.
Way too many ads on a more than decent recreation of the original game. I would probably purchase this for a small fee instead, as the free version keeps bombarding you with long ads. A shame, really. If you wanna play, you should pay the 4$ CAD to have a more enjoyable experience. This game reminds of old movie tie-in games.
Addictive stuff, especially for fans of the original arcade game! Pro tip: To advance the levels quickly, don't bother tapping the word "continue" at the completion of each level. Just exit the app and restart to begin the next level. Sounds contrary, I know, but you skip all the time-consuming nonsense in between and you actually save time.
Loved Q Bert in the 80s so I was excited to download this one. Like the other comments, the ads are incessant. Also, the game doesn't really get any harder. In the arcade version there are many more levels you have to change to multiple colors. The levels on this one are super repetitive and not very challenging.
the game itself is ..good. cute, and stays faithful to the original graphics. but the constant ads, and the popups asking you to remove said ads (that you have to wait 5 seconds to deny) are annoying. also, this game is very laggy and slow on my phone. considering i have a quite recent phone and have never had trouble running even the most extravagant games, it's quite annoying.
this game is so fun. I got addicted to it, but it really needs more levels bc I ran out and deleted the app because it just kept giving me "bonus levels" that were recolor of the same levels I already did. it got boring. another thing is that there are alot of ads. I get that that's how you make money but do you really need so many. I just ended up clicking the home button and going back into the game when I didn't feel like watchin an ad (that didn't give me anything) without a 'X'.
It is a shame for such a classic like Qbert be republished with so many, and I mean really SO MANY ads. This is completely unbelievable. There is 1 ad per level, and there's no difference if you failed or passed the level, there will always be ads, not counting with the optional ads that continue in the game even if you buy the "no ads" option. Terrible. Don't waste your time watching these ads.
