Whole product is poorly designed around their attempt at blue tooth. Total failure. If you plan to purchase this product make sure you can return it. I finally place the Bluetooth transmitter within 6 in of my phone and received an intermittent weak signal eventually leading to no signal whatsoever.
Awful. Battery that came with the unit was dead. New battery at least allowed the unit to turn on, but despite that; no number of attempts to push the button to turn the green light to blue to pair the device would work. I obviously should have read the other reviews first.
No frills BT thermometer. Works good. Bluetooth range is average at best. Would give it 5 stars if the app updated the temp faster than every 5 mins, say every minute or even real-time. Timer function seems pointless since everything has timers now.
Ok guys, here is the deal. This is simply repackaged software, several manufactures use this exact same hardware/software and put their own packaging and design on the hardware. So here is the deal, look for an app called "BBQ Go", seems to be the most popular of these with over 100k downloads. The Q Tech app no longer works for my phone, but am currently using the BBQ Go app with no issues. Like literally, I am using it right now to measure temp on a nice filet mignon. You will be good to go!
I have several of these that I use alot. Got an amazing deal at Walmart for them so i bought about 15 of them. Thought I'd sell them and make a little profit. Tried one out and I really love it. I don't know why it gets such bad reviews. I use several literally every other day for several hours to even over night. Every one of them that I've used work every time. And I love seeing the live graph stats. Hey if your looking for an investor. Let's talk.
Unbelievable I purchased this POS it doesn't connect I followed the instructions perfectly. It's really sad when a manufacturer does not update their apps and it's extremely frustrating and disappointing when retailers continue to sell the outdated inoperable junk
Could not get my bluetooth from phone to connect to the device. Like already stated in comments below, download BBQ GO app. Same thing, WAY better app. After a hr of trying to get this to work with no success, I downloaded BBQ GO app amd litterly took 5 seconds to connect and get it working......
Won't pair, and find it absolutely stupid that you have to pair through the app and not just through Bluetooth settings (tried it and doesn't work either).
I wish I would have seen these first but I was in a hurry buying this POS. If they know these dont work. Why are they still selling these! Ridiculous. Fix the problem with an updated app for newer Android versions or keep it off the shelf.
If you have older phone fine if you have a phone even nearly new version of Android it will not connect for anything the phone tells me it's made for an older version and to contact the developer for a updated version
Attempted to connect with 4 phones, two apple, a samsung, and a Google pixel 3. No success connecting to any of them. This device is still defective.
Always says weak connection even standing next to it and loses signal. Used for 2 hrs after putting a new battery in it and it was dead.
4/1/21. Update your app!!! Old cell able to connect with blue tooth, new cell bad cannot connect. Update with the times- snap snap
It never connects through the app. Phone can see it in blue tooth but you have to connect through app. Piece of junk
Needs low heat alarm. Great for what it does, please update the app to allow an alarm setting if heat goes below certain temp. Would like to use this for overnight smokes and have it give air temp readings in case I get a flameout
Bought the q-tech thermometer. Tried connecting a dozen times no luck. Uninstalled & reinstalled the app as well as checking for updates.no luck. I recommend strongly against buying this device. I gave only one star because I couldn't post this comment unless I did.
Bought the Q-Tech meat thermometer and installed Blu tooth app. Same problem as everyone else... App for old phones. Taking the thermometer back to get refund. First Blu tooth app that has not worked on my phone.
will not connect absolute waste of rime and money. returning immediately. its for old versions of android software and no updates are available wich tells me there is probably zero customer service or support
Software is not up to date, bluetooth will not connect to my Note 9. 😡 Last update was March 8, 2017, really? Get with the program Q-Tech!!
Worked for about 5 minutes then will not reconnect to my phone. Tried reloading app, usual things, still nothing. POS.
Doesn't work with any pho e in last few years. Garbage app. Download the iEasybbq app, the thermometer works great with it
Not very good. Doesnt stay connected. Indicates weak connection and my phone is right next to it.
Search for ibbq. You can find an app that works great with this thermometer 🌡️. This app only works with older bluetooth connection.
It won't do anything but flash green. Won't turn off, won't playing with my Bluetooth. What a waste.
Won't connect, I have a Samsung Galaxy S10+. Should be no reason for not working and now the store I purchased from won't return or refund. Unexcusable...
New phone doesn't connect, emailed developer and no response. Use to work great but not anymore... Garbage!
Originally tried to connect to a lg v60 android vers ion 10 No luck. Have my old lg g6 android version 7 and app works. Pretty nice too. Just sucks i gotta bust out my old lg.

Great device but the app will not connect running on my OnePlus 5t. Connects fine on my 3T which is an older phone. Update your damn app.
The app never connected correctly. Even when my Samsung S9 was only 10 feet away. When I upgraded my phone to an Samsung S10, I got a message that the app wouldn't work with my phone. It's not like the S10 came out last week! Gee why would QTech want to keep your app up to date? This is simply a ploy to make us buy another blue tooth thermometer. And that is what I will do. It just won't be a QTech.
