Sad how Metro apps are so sub-standard one is better off using something else entirely. Like every Houston Metro app, this one works fine for a few months until an update makes it nearly unusable. 1. Newly bought tickets in-app disappear for a short time, occasionally come back. 2. App takes forever to load, sometimes loads incorrectly or hangs or crashes. 3. No, I do not want a separate Metro "wallet" in-app to store money & buy barely usable online tickets. DO yourself a favor & get the card!
It is a pretty good app. One major problem is that they do not include and instructions about how the app ought to be used. One Metro driver said that she does not need to see the phone that I just need to tap the screen on my phone when I board the bus. Update: Worst app I had to deal with. Clunky and unusable. I only rely on this app when I don't have my card. I am trying to buy a ticket and it gives me an error message. Please fix.
One of the best bus ticket apps ever. I give it 4.5 stars ⭐ since is really easy to use. Sometimes gives me some error for payment and sometimes is slow. But overall a really good app.
Pretty straight forward. Can't apply student discounts or I just haven't found a way, but overall simple app and easy to use.
Hey this app is extremely slow and I have to use it to get to work. The bus driver is getting annoyed with me over this and I personally would like to not be late for work. Is there a way I can have this issue resolved other than carrying cash or a metro card.
App is always crashing and restarting. Bus drivers are frequently annoyed with me when presenting ride validation on this app.
The app could use a real time planning and scheduling part rather than having it in another app, but it does it's job well, regardless.
This app is a failure. The third largest city in America is unable to hire app creators who were able to transfer the tickets from one app to the new app. I thought that and did not update the app but made the mistake of getting a new phone. The new app did exactly what i thought it would. Customer service said the old tickets would transfer on the 31st of Aug. Wrong. I get an email stating they would let me know when it updated. Dont waste your time with this. Use the card.
It is effective and efficient. This is one of the more convenient applications I have ever used. No ads in the application.
How you make an app i can't access tickets i bought offline, not all buses have wifi not every zone is covered. Crashes everytime now, and even with wifi the sht won't open drivers looking at me stupid because this sorry app don't work. Wasted money on tickets i can't access
The app needs to be looked into it freezes up and boots you out, it hardly ever opens the ticket without glitching
It's not the app is bad. It works fine enough for me, but it requires a brand new account, offers no significant new features, and is overly graphics-intensive for such a simple application. Overall, I see no compelling reason for the change. Smoke and mirrors from Houston METRO as usual.
This app is slow to load tickets in between transferring buses. Only use this app for emergencies.
Wow! Sink or swim time! No useful help or FAQ. They assume you already know the ridemetro jargon. The app Sells tickets without any explanation as to what the ticket does. And when you go to pay for a ticket, they have made it extremely difficult to use a debit card over G Pay and their "wallet", which must be loaded with preset amounts.
I would give it 5 *s but when you make a purchase, it goes to the place order screen twice. Which causes it to place a double order. I just bought 4 passes that causes me to in up buying 8 of them. Please fix the bug.
This app for metro is great I can buy my tickets without using a card the only thing I might change is 3hrs to 24 hrs.
This app is horrible. The developer lies and says you have to create a new account. This isnt true. The app isnt letting people log in with thier old account. However if you attempt to create a new account with your old crendentials it logs you in. Its not a new account. I know this because it had my credit card information preloaded when i tried to create a new account. This app also gives an error message everytime you open it. Which slows you down when trying to board the bus.
Sure, this app barely works, holds only a few tickets at time, does not consolidate tickets to make for easier viewing, forces you to leave app to go to website to find any info., everytime a ticket expires it causes an error, it is ugly in appearance & functionality, none of my tickets transferred from the switch from the far superior app, it often takes up to 5-10 mins. to load, I often must force stop it. The person who signed off on this app should be fired ASAP.
Grate app if you want to be late to work, because the app won't process your purchase. Now instead of paying $1.25 to get to work I'm going to pay triple that and I'm going to be late. I have lived in smaller Townes that have a better public transport. With free transfers and the ability to purchase a bus pass for a hole month. But not in the 4th biggest city in America. We get bus stops with out siting or shade and waits 2 times what the longest estimate states for that stop.
Almost Perfect! Though it seemed to drain my battery even when running in the background. This seems to be caused by the animating ticket screen that the driver needs to see. I kill the app after they've viewed it.
*8/22/19 Update. I contacted wageworks. Houston Metro didn't re-certify. Wageworks reached out to them and now the payments go through. Updated to 3 stars since it's working now but metro should have caught this sooner. * It is not allowing my wageworks card to go through. Apparently it doesn't have the correct transit merchant ID associated with their credit card processor. Hopefully this gets resolved ASAP. This card worked on the old app so it should work for this one.
The app serves a decent purpose if you don't have a "Q card" yet you do have a form of electronic payment, but there is a big downside. This app massively drains your phone battery very quickly. My personal theory is that it kills your battery so that when your phone powers off, you will no longer have proof of payment or online ticket. Then you are forced to pay money upfront. Again just my personal theory. Uninstall it between bus rides and then install it again when you need it.
App has not worked for months. It will not give me access to purchased tickets. It will not let me buy tickets. It tells me to connect to the internet and try again when I am connected. I uninstalled it and re-installed it. Now I can't log in or reset my password. Would give negative stars for wasting my time if possible.
Can't believe this is the best app for transit in country's 4th largest city. Fire whoever approved this design. 90s internet was faster & more user friendly. METRO's whole web site & all web services needs a major overhaul to catch it up to the 20th century before it ever can be ready for the 2020s. Why so many apps, why not 1 that does everything? I can order a Big Mac & have it delivered faster than I can do any transaction or functions on these host of apps.
Wish it kept tickets offline to able to use if you dont have phone service most buses have wifi but i have expericed some that dont
Very difficult to access my pass when it time to ride the bus an it moves on slow.
Please fix the app . i need to go to work . i dont carry cash and this is the only way i get to work. Ive also emailed twice today and left a complaint on the website. Plz fix ASAP!
Not sure what is going on but the functionality is so super slow now. I have to activate my ticket a good few minutes ahead of time but God forbid if after I activate it I have to exit the app it takes a while to reload again always. This was not always the case. Twice now I got on the bus and my digital ticket took a while to load but the drivers were understanding. When I got off the first bus once and was ready to transfer to the second bus, I was kicked out of the app unexpectedly.
