QiBrd: Free Virtual Analog Synthesizer

QiBrd free synthesizer allows to unleash your potential even if you don't know how to play a musical instrument.

This synth is not only free, it also has got no ads! Why? Just because I made it for myself and I use it!

Unlike apps that copy classic instruments like Moog, Korg, DSI, Roland or Clavia, QiBrd synthesizer has been designed to:
+ be powerful and controllable without exposing the synth engine
+ have the most possible controls on screen
+ assign the most possible dramatic timbral change to each control
+ show an easy interface to make the sounds evolve and change even with one single hand.

We wanted the most expressive electronic synthesizer that we could ever program.

We followed this idea while creating this musical instrument, avoiding all what can be difficult or tricky, like complex sound generation parameters. Instead, we included all what appeared to have a direct and immediate impact on the sound timbre and evolution. That's the idea behind QiBrd synth.

It has become a very powerful and yet incredibly easy synthesizer, with virtual analog synth sounds, vintage timbres, electronic techno and trance sounds, and even a small drum machine.

The free 20 included sounds use multiple synthesis techniques and span from progressive rock to modern techno, from melodic to noisy, from classic to contemporary, from vintage to trance. They all share two main characteristic:
+ they can be controlled to evolve and change
+ they are easy.

Indeed, every patch is associated to a scale and to the controllers that are exactly aimed to work with that particular sound, so that every touch you make will change something in timbre or in pitch of your synth, yet keeping it always in tune.

About the closest thing to an omnichord I can find, very nice settings, wish there were some more features but still it's cool! One thing I'd really like to see would be a quicker way to switch keys. Some songs like "Still Alive" have key changes and it's kinda clunky to change them with the knob or a menu. A more omnichord-like interface with faster key/scale switching and more sound options would be awesome and I would pay for that feature.

An awesome instrument, easy to grasp, but very powerful, especially if you're a bit familiar with music creation. You'll have tons of fun by playing it but you can also discover new melodies and ideas for composition. You can play your phone or tablet anywhere, jam with other musicians to your liking, and it will be there on those moments when you feel like playing a bit just to yourself. Many thanks to the dev! It's awesome and free, what more can you ask?

There is an awful static sound that is constant at all times. This makes the absolutely useless! I'm sure I can hear some promising sounds through the static but that only frustrates more! It's not my devices as I've downloaded the app on a total of three separate devices yet the problem is the same on every one. Poor showing. This could be brilliant

Why 2 instead of 5? The simple answer is that it doesn't have a MIDI feature. This would make a great control surface for desktop DAW environments like Ableton or Fruity Loops. It's still lots of fun and I look forward to future versions. Having had a few days to play with this app now I've noticed a few problems. It glitches when transitioning down the scales. hitting a high note and then a lower one frequently produces the same tone. Because of this, you can forget about me buying any upgrades.

In my opinion, this is definitely the best synth app available on Android for quick, and on the fly expression. Bend and adjust parameters as you play to suit you need at the time. Also, extremely easy to use, but don't let that fool you into thinking the quality isn't there. You can acheive beautiful and lush instruments here. This is a great synth for the beginner and veteran alike.

This is a great app! Powerful, yet simple. Easy to understand and use, but comprehensive enough to keep you experimenting for hours. By far the most amazing part of the app, is that it's all TRULY free - no ads, no tricks. Yes, there are purchases that can be made to increase functionality. But it does what is advertised, for free. If there is a shortcoming, it's that I could not completely eliminate the random "ticks" and "pops" on my Galaxy S8, despite settings. - Probably my hardware.

Pretty fun right away, although so far I can't figure out how to link the extra packs I purchased. It's pretty intuitive for making noise, but some features aren't as obvious like trying to find presets that actually have the chord feature. I thought that would be something always available. I'm sure I'll learn this thing with time and overall lol forward to the possibilities.

Epic. Hands down THE best sounding and easiest to use synthesizer for Android I've come across and I've just gotten started on it. As a musician and just because the sheer volume of sounds on the massive palette are so much fun to play, have that warm fuzzy analog sound, psychedelic, just, INSTALL IT if you're reading this wondering! I rarely review apps but there are no ads at all and ZERO in-app annoying "have to purchase to play". Just...Amazing!! Thank you for making this!! :-)

I just spent an exhilarating hour with this little gem -- and I'm still discovering how deep it goes. This app + my old phone (retired due to mic problems) = one very versatile synth, with a range of sounds and tweak-ability I wouldn't have guessed at. All sorts of unique modulation sources, effects, an X-Y touchpad you can latch/unlatch. Auto-chord, so you can play a progression & add leads on top. Even a cool-looking UI. My thanks to development team! My new favorite Android music app!

The more I use it the more I like it. Worth learning and practicing with. Makes smart use of the multitouch interface and lets you make constantly changing sounds, tuned however you like. If you run it on two devices you can self accompany. Good sounds, good interface, great help section. Elicited the only app review I've ever written. Thank you, Beppi!

Very good sounds, bought the extra bank, but when connection to my Bluetooth headphones, the sound is just horrible! Very choppy and glitchy. I went through the buffering settings multiple times and tries all sorts of things, but can't get it right. Can you please help? Thank you!

This synth thingie is so much fun! I am no musician by any stretch of imagination, but I really like the idea of creating sounds and synthesizers fascinate me. This app is a bunch of very quirky and intuitive synths in one. It's just an intricate toy for somebody as inept as me, but could be a great creative outlet for anybody who knows what he wants sonically. Thanks a lot for this great contraption! I had hours of fun playing and combining sounds!

Wow, if you open your mind and understand the controls this device will deliver what you want. Simply think of the sound and this thing shall deliver. Fantastic. Brilliant for composing interesting background ambience. In-depth tool. You are only limited by your imagination. Very easy to learn and use. Have fun!! Recomended.

I really like this unique (as far as i am aware) approach to analogue synthesis. The presets included are very versatile and interesting, creating an environment of creativity and inspiration that you only seem to get with hardware or high-end software. The only things i am not a fan of are the in-app-purchases and lack of an environment to create your own synths. GET THIS APP! >:)

Everyone might as well try it cause it's free, and also just of the best instruments on Android in general. Everything controls by swiping like a good smartphone instrument should (scale and key knobs could be more intuitive however). Lots of potentially interesting sounds, a few of which are even fairly competent arpeggiators. Sound was bugged on my pixel 2 (could be from no headphone jack) but works fine on newer pixel 4.

Let me have a little bit of time with it so I can better describe my experience with app...ok? But so far the tutorials were pretty simple. Once I have finished with the tutorials I might give you a 4....ok I'm back. This is alot of alot of fun. I haven't set anything to record yet, but I'm planning to. I'll let you know when something is finished so you can hear it. Until then, have fun with this app. It really has an easy, operator friendly outlay.

Wow. This is one of the coolest apps I've seen for making sounds. Similar in some ways to an analog synth, yet with a control reminiscent of the Korg Kaossilator. Lots of fun as a toy, and who knows if you can get proficient enough with this to actually make some tunes? Feature request: add a full screen step sequencer on another tab!

If you can whistle, you can play this. If you play an instrument, you could make music in the first 15 minutes. The strings sound pretty realistic. I may use this in my current project. It crashed on me once. Not sure if it was my hardware environment or the software. I like this. Better than a toy. Well worth the price of free. Thanks guys!

Pretty damn cool! Lags a little bit, but not enough to annoy me. Ended up removing it because the small size of the keyboard didn't quite work with my touchscreen but it was a fun app nonetheless! Edit: May you please perhaps add Midi support, like have it able to respond from input from a device such as an MPK Mini?

Jos. C. Oct 30, 2020

I found that there is a pretty annoying bug in this app: when I use the purple keyboard, aka dominus, the whole app crashes. Apart from that, it could also do with a easier use keyboard with a higher contrast between each note. Otherwise it looks nice and sounds good.
