This is a great irc client. So many thoughtful features like customizable light & dark mode, ability to automate nick password login, intuitive swiping between tabs. Completely free with zero ads. Here are my questions /nitpicks: I have "keep logs" turned on, but don't know where to find them? Inline browser does not always render imgur links. It's not always obvious when someone has PMed me. The notification sound is the same as for regular messages, and the new tab pops up in the background.

We need auto-reconnect when connection is lost. Also whenever the app minimizes to status bar, it notifies me and it does the same thing after I turn the screen off, even if there's no new messages. I'm using a XIAOMI Redmi 6A, Android 9.1 and MIUI 10. Edit: just found out that it's the "Notification Chat - Live messages in the notification tray" to send false notifications.

This is the best irc app around for android right now -- mainly because its the only one that does notifications properly. i.e. it gives you notifications on new channel messages. Would be great to have an auto-reconnect on disconnect function though.

Still one of the best clients I've ever seen. What I miss is text selection (copy/paste). One more thing I'd love To see is possibility to search for logs and read them in other programs. I.E. like some file manager and text editor.

Awesome client. Built in web viewer for links. Easyer to set up servers and navigate channels then popular desktop clients. Intuitive and straightforward. Auto day/night colors. You can tell the dev cared about the details.Thank you !

unable to set up my server, it says username required but most IRC servers don't require a username (only nickname). Same settings that work in every IRC client don't work in this one. It fails to connect due to "incorrect password". I have my own IRC server which is not set up with a password. Total garbage...

Sorts channels alphabetically, which is a big plus. However, I can't seem to be able to have channels grouped by server – they're all sorted together.

Overall the app is good, connections remain for longer than other IRCs, but what I missed was the DCC support. A DCC feature in the future updates would surely be appreciated and would be worth a 5☆ rating.

Highly recommended! I never write reviews, but after trying nearly every other IRC client on the Play Store, this one just works. Great job #qicr, and thank you for an amazing app :)

A little clunky but does work... unlike all the others I tried... I still need to test NickSrv authentication but server authentication works perfectly.

I opened it, pressed new server, and nothing happened Android 10; Fail. Same thing in March.

quite a good irc client, but: 1. uses a lot of battery, 2. has a bit inconsistent interface (e.g. sometimes open in a window, sometimes in full screen (on Samsung J5), this should be configurable and consistent; 1 notification should be enough; links in archive should be clickable; chat/archive should be copyable), 3. sometimes fails to reconnect, 4. sometimes duplicates messages.

We cannot scroll on the notification, Please add a floating Window, when we open it, it shows you the floating IRC window. Update: This is not maintained for months. Update: REMOVED 2 STARS BECAUSE OF DISCONNECTIONS ON A ZNC SERVER THAT USES A NEW VERSION OF ZNC!

What this app does well: it has a widget (woo) and usability is pretty good in general. A lot of great customization options and tweaks to set it up the way you want it to be set up. Things like channel organization and tab complete work much better than other irc apps. Problems I had with it: for some reason, I cannot get this app to maintain a consistant connection. After connecting, it may disconnect with no reason given, and you won't know you've been missing messages until you type something and find it doesn't go through. The app can't seem to stay open for me, half the time when it hasn't disconnected from the server it closes entirely (w/o phone restart or memory issue that may force it to close) and you get in the habit of having to relaunch it every time you use it. The application also has an option to show join and part messages, but once this is set up it seems mostly arbitrary as to whether you will actually see those messages in chat. You can find yourself talking to someone who isn't there. Summary: Other IRC apps I have tried don't have the customization ability this one has, and it is generally much easier to set up and use than other apps are. However, other apps only tend to disconnect when your actual internet disconnects, instead of seemingly randomly soon after you have connected, and they tend to stay running unless you specifically close them. For someone who has a use case like I do, where I want to be able to just see what messages I have missed by looking at the widget and then respond to them, the inability to maintain a consistant connection doesn't really make the app's positive features worth it for me.
