does the job. shows turnouts. I would definitely recommend for anyone needing info on local fires, permitted burnings, crashes or hazmat fires. definitely aids in letting me know local turnouts I can go and check out. one issue I'm having at the moment as of this review is the lack of maps which had suddenly disappeared in the last few days. other than that, the app is fantastic!
Fantastic app, home zone alerts are really handy, being able to set a distance from home has stopped me stressing a lot. Updates very well, or just manually sync if needing fire updates sooner than 1 minute intervals. I did a comparison with the live site for the first few days of the bad QLD fires and it was spot on.
Every time I get a notification it comes twice. That's un-necessary. Also this app doesnt show extent of fire grounds (where the fire has burned so far) like the nsw app. Or rather I can't get it to show if it's supposed to. Only able to see pinpoints where fires originally start.
Fast, reliable information updates direct from Queensland Fire & Emergency Service with distance alerts, maps too. In a bushfire area you couldn't (and possibly wouldn't) live without it. It's worth many times more than the one-off $1 fee they charge.
Vital app with some really annoying gltches. Will not store more than one watched zone and freezes quite a bit if there is lots of fires. Unfortunately this is when u really need it to work.
Trying to keep up to date as we live near state park bushland. Why does notifications or alerts not work? And why will it not update? Even after clearing the list, it will not remove old events.
New to Qld from Victoria. Cannot set my watch zone or notifications. Have un- installed and re-installed. Still the same. Quite dissapointed it isn't working for me. Any advice would be great.
Watch zones turns off by itself after a few days.
can't add watch zone - "error" every time! - I was told it's been fixed but now the watch zones button does nothing at all on either android tab or phone - shame as the app would be good if it actually worked
It's unfortunate you can't change the address on your watch zones. I'm at work and it seem I can't list my home because I am not physically there... Or my family's homes either. **Also, I liked that on the NSW RFS app you can see the perimeter of almost any blaze, which I found most helpful and crucial to my decisions as to when I was going to evacuate the area!!
Update- Thanks for the update fix. It is now updating with current fires đđđ What has happened that the app is not updating anymore? It seems to have stopped on 24/02/21 and no longer provides updated information. It was my fire safety check every day âšī¸
This app showed a fire surrounding my house at Mt Nebo on the night of 19/11/19. No other fire alert service showed this, and it turned out (when i checked with national parks) it was non existent. This was terrifying. Why did this happen? It also shows fires at fernvale, dugandan and jimboomba that are not anywhere else. This is serious misinformation. I would like an explanation as to why this happened please.
Not updating correctly. Can not set watch zone. Notifications come through with incorrect information. No current fire information can be found, yet QFES have had updates on incidents on their website
Easy to use, accurate, watch zones work perfectly. We have 400 acres of scrub in QLD. Set up a watch zone, and was alerted immediately when a fire was reported nearby. Couldn't be happier with the performance of this app.
Not a bad app, however is not a patch compared to Vic Emergency API, as this API requires notifications to automatically be deleted once any incident is finished from this app, the same way "Vic Emergency" API works.
Great app for staying aware. The zone alerts are great but could do with a "by council area" feature as well as a radius feature
This app could be so much better if there was a geo curtain possibility. Imagine having ability to put a geo curtain or an inclusion zone around your residence and if a fire is within the zone you are alerted by text, email etc. If there is one already in this app it's hard to find.
I think this app is great But also agree it would be great to be able to set different places for alert for example if you are not physically at home
The back button takes me out of the app which is very annoying. This makes the app difficult to navigate. Otherwise good to use.
Very hard to have a clear veiw of what is happening, sixe of fire on map terrible. Check out vic emergency and nsw fire apps for an idea.
Stopped updating. Was useless during these latest fires as the information that was much needed, did not change. So disappointing
Best app ever. I can get on scene ASAP. It would be better if you could see the exact units on scene with real call signs not just how many are going
Used to be great, but maps suddenly stopped working. Please fix.
Doesn't update enough. Not all features work. NSW ap is free and gives a lot more detailed information.
What do the satellite dots mean on the app? Would be good if we could see the actual perimeter of the fire but otherwise really handy app
Today I can only give a 2 as the app is not working. At other I would give a 9 as the app is really easy to use.
Still no satellite map, just a generic map. Sacrificed what was good to stick in a rain radar that everyone most likely already has on a weather app.
