Touting contact and calendar qr codes is just a way to add the permission to steal data and when the screen pops up for the agreement, if you try to get out of the app, it acts as though you confirmed and agreed when you didn't. Careful. I was unaware of these permissions and would have avoided. But the audacity to ask if it is OK when no isn't an option is dishonest. And that is why 1 star.
Best QR scanner. Intelligent recognition feature. may be a bit slower than some, like QR Scanner Team's version, but will definitely find any readable QR code. In the end that is what you want from a QR Scanner, I think. Though I have seen reviews waring their privacy protection, as they undeniably request certain permissions. This being common in a lot of apps, I see no real issue. But will keep you posted.
It only works on black QR codes. On white ones is completely useless. I looked for setting regarding this matter but haven't found anything useful. If you solve this problem i'll upgrade the review to 5 stars and reinstall the app. Otherwise, it's a nice designed app and has a nice feeling when you use it (it has nice design, not just basic stuff). Good luck!
Seemed ok!!! Wish it would have informed me of "ALL of the THINGS a it does or wanted permissions for" Instead IT LIED or didn't tell me things it does or don't do" right from the start! It will not read this certain bar code i have and thats not what it says in the reviews at all then trys to tell me I have my permissions messed up?? If I could fix that and a few other things I believe the app is definitely worth saving!!! But its gotta give me permissions to any "real info" I want, with proof!
This is a neat tool. I just wish it didn't require so many permissions. Also, I had some funny issues with setting the times for an event code -- the app wouldn't allow me to set any time range besides the present time, which makes no sense. It didn't do this before, so it might have just been a glitch, I don't know.
Awesome app, works fast, haven't had issues with it and I've had for a year now. It also has a "history" option which is very useful for me since I'm a regular at several places and I also like to order a lot and most restaurants don't have an easy access menu. Thank you programmer for your service!
This app works pretty good and has a clean interface, however the only drawback is that it's got a lot of ads. I guess it's normal if you consider that it's the only way the programmer has to make money. Also the app comes with optional features that others don't have so i definitely recommend it!
Wow. Just wow. I needed something simple. Point, scan, read. This app does it all. You deserve more than 5 stars. I haven't used the Create option, but from what I've seen so far, that should be good too! So, some months after, and I feel so good about your app that I want to edit my review. I finally used the Create option to encode exam numbers for my students on their ID card. ¡Mucho gracias! The free version has all features I need, but I will still purchase the pro version to appreciate.
There's not a whole lot I can say about the app other than it works great and is easy to use. I've used it for everything from looking up items I was thinking about buying as well as lots of items I can just scan the code. Today I used it to scan a code for a scavenger hunt 😁. It's nice to have some extra information at hand by doing no more than scanning something. And it's fun to see what pops up with the scan?
I needed a qr/barcode scanner app that actually WORKED and I had to have tried about a half a dozen other app builds unsuccessfully before this one, and this one works on my Samsung so that settled it! I'm quite satisfied with this one because it WORKS! Creates both codes for a variety of applications (call a number or resolve a URL, for example) very nicely too!
My phone camera doesn't do the built in qr code thing. This app is perfect. I love how it keeps a history to, so I have quick access without the need to scan some frequently used codes.
Was hard to get to work at first but I think I got it to do what I needed I still got to check on where I sent it still got to figure out how to get back to the original scan screen though the rest works fast just a lot of ads this is the best one I've found out of probably 25 others great work lots can use this very well
Id give you a 5 star rating, but there are WAY too manny clicks within the first minute. There is a lot of adds cluttering the screen. Than u PUSH a popup that does NOT give us an option to ask later, but instead it more or less FORCE'S us to give u a rating before we even get to actually try it. But you are constantly nonstop clicking that screen. Sorry man Just saying whats true. But THANK YOU for trying. Keep it up. Coding isnt ever just easy. And i understand the adds keep it free
Shows ad every time the app is opened. I've been trying to scan the windows stop code that shows up when my computer randomly shuts down but this app makes you click out of an ad every single time before you can use the scanner so I can never scan it in time. Going to try an app that's less intrusive with ads.
Fantastic! Within 10 seconds of downloading the app i could scan codes, it doesnt make you sign up for a subscription which if you forget to cancel after your free 3 day trial you get charged $32 like the first one i downloaded. Very happy!
What changed from all those good reviews? Tons of permissions required even if you just want to scan and not all the other features. Full screen ad upon entry and upon exit. Could not get the scan to read on a code. This one is a definite NO.
Runs smoothly. Doesn't have to be complicated. Goes straight to what I need. User-friendly. Well executed User Interface. The camera quality is good. Great design. Available in all countries. Over all, an excellent app.
Useless, sadly. The interface looks great, but it refuses to scan/recognize ANY codes despite the fact that I have allowed all permissions, checked all settings, & tried rotating, zooming in/out, & focusing the QR code in all sorts of positions. App info says "To scan QR code, simply open the application, align code. QRcode Reader will automatically recognize any code." So what's the problem? Compatibility? My phone is only a year old (LG G8 ThinQ) & I have had no issues with any other apps...
It has a combined Qr and barcode scanner, and can show you links you are about to visit. Sleek design --- no adds --- not as janky as other options. With 30mb (at most) it can go almost undetected storage wise. With all this in mine, I find this to be the best Qr application around. 10/10 --- a happy user
One star with the possibility of way more, can't copy and paste text converted from app. Can only send by email or messaging. Don't see if it's possible to C&P to note pad type text file. This app is about selling products. Not R&D, no paste into data files.
Bought a new back pack without instructions for all its features. It did have a code card and so I downloaded this App to read the code and now I have full access to all the features on my new back pack. In my limited use to date of this App I must say it works without any hassle at all.
Works, but as you open it to scan a QR code, an ad shows up. You can only scan after you have closed out the ad screen. Aren't the ads at the bottom of the screen, taking 20% of the screen at all times enough?
It is perfect and really helped me out. My favorite thing about it is that when you take a picture of a QR code offline it saves the picture in your history and you can look at it when you have connection, and also look back at it if needed.
scanned almost 10 codes, result is perfect so far. Though there are ads ( not upto annoying level) but seeing the only source of income its acceptable. I can't understand why it asks for a number of irrelevant permissions.
After walking in a restaurant this week in our small Burgundian town, and wearing my mask, this technophobe found the menu in a QR code with no reader on her phone. I downloaded this reader the same day. Two days later, in a coffee shop, I noticed a QR code on the table. I turned on my data, opened the app, chose my email, pointed at the QR code and voilà, I had a link to the menu. I've only used it once, but it worked perfectly!
This app is just a way to collect your info. It doesn't need access to your contacts, phone, or wifi to work properly. All you are doing is giving a random company access to your phone through an app. Not good 0/10 would not recommend
Unfortunately you can't use this app to scan wi-fi settings because it encloses the password in quotes, which are read as part of the password. Can't see a way to prevent this, and it's not possible to copy and paste from the scan.
At least, this app saves my particulars for safe entry and exit. The previous QR code reader I installed had me keying in all my info at every entry and exit, resulting in me having to do it over 20 times ! This was despite the fact that I ticked on the "Remember me" box in that app. One suggestion for a better experience would be to enable the app to scan a QR code stored as a picture in the phone. So far, I haven't been able to get the app to do that when I tap on the "scan a picture" icon.
