Was looking for a text editing app for my phones and tried a few but so far QuickEdit seems best. It's plain and relatively simple to operate for what I need it for. The auto save feature, very useful. It's easy to save to internal or external storage. There's the choice of sharing the files in various ways including sending them to Google Drive. Update: reduced from 5 to 3 stars. Ads are getting way too intrusive. Can't close them! Noisy, abrupt blocks the work. Have to exit & reopen.
Ads for saving and doing anything (just turn off wifi and data). It use the stupid mini toolbar thing and locks it above the keyboard. Not very convenient save undo placement imo. Some buttons in the drop list could just be moved to settings. Other than the stupid bar and clutter menu. It seems fine. Please allow bar to be locked at top of screen.
Opening and editing is slow, even without ads (I have pro ver. on my other phone). Even small files are slow to open and edit, as if it were over 200mb in size. Other than that, I wish I could pick the syntax color scheme myself, instead of the pre-selected ones (most are difficult for me to read). Maybe a hex color picker could be added? Anyway, great app if you get pro ver.
Very good code editor by Android standards. They support fundamental things that really matter e.g. I can program in BQN in their editor, because they let me use a custom font instead of the bad default font on my phone. Ads can be jarring but are infrequent. I'd like access to the clipboard from inside the editor.
Thanks for removing NOISY, NON-DISMISSABLE ads, which had made me move to NMM Edit which is improving rapidly, solid and doesn't disturb the room ... Earlier: STILL wishing it accepted and showed embedded tab (0x09) characters, with proper unix/linux style (e.g.) 8 char column alignment like NMM does properly, so I could edit my source code and script files. Also that 'statistics' showed the full file path. Otherwise it's really good, very solid and safe; I've never lost a file or edit.
I'm putting this public since it is clear greed I have used the free version of this app for years. It was great. I had ads but they did not get in the way. I don't mind ads. I understand that is what pays for the free programs. Downloaded the latest version and enabled a 1 minute auto save as I always do. This is my primary notes app so I don't want to lose data. Now it throws ads in my face! Every time is saves! It throws me out of my train of thought and everything! Very upset
It was one of my best app. But recently after updating, it started lagging and sometimes completely crashing down when I open mobile data or WIFI. I understand you want monetize the app by showing ads, but this is doing more harm than good.
This app is so cool that is like Windows 11's notepad. I use this app to edit every single text good job to the devlopers 10/10 amazing. My phone has a notepad in it too but it is 0/10 too bad. I will uninstall the phone notepad app. I will use this app forever. There are ads but still good at the same time. This text editor seems the best in my life!
Great text editor for android. Best I've tried so far. Very simple to use. Lines are numbered, which is useful. Supports working on multiple simultaneous text files. Very robust too.
I like to be able to write and close the app without saving, and restart where I left off. I don't like it doesn't have autocorrect-choices. Initially ads were inconvenient. But recently it's interface with ads makes it completely useless. Uninstalling.
Last star withheld because of some minor file opening/interactions.And the app will cache files you've open with it; With no way to deactivate this function Over-all this app is the do all,end all when it comes to text or code in ANY format. Like that i can edit system files and this app NEVER changes file permissions; Which is a big issue i had with all the other apps i tried.
Unusable because of the ads. I just downloaded it, and while trying to change the theme I was presented with at least 5 unskippable, fullscreen ads in less than 5 minutes. I would consider purchasing the Pro version but I can't tell if this is something I'd like to use because I can't test it. I understand that you have to make money, but you have crippled your own software. Ill just go find something else.
The ads are ridiculous. I got stuck in a vicious, fullscreen no exit ad bombardment. I tried to back out and it reset the process of bombarding me with ads and redirecting to the play store to install some stupid game- all over again. This app is a waste of time, dont pay for premium and enable more of this behavior. Find another app.
Probably the most impressive text editor there is, reading from the glowing reviews it gets. It seems hw that I misunderstood what it actually does. I was hoping I could open a file (epub), made using an app like Sigil, then make a few corrections to it, like putting in sub-headings, correcting text, adding italics or even a new image. None of this I could do, so uninstalled.
Great app in terms of functionality, but the ads have become horrendous and slightly invasive. Had one where it forcefully opened a Play Store link which I did not click on and I could not exit without clicking my home screen button and force closing everything via task manager. Loved this app some time ago, but thinking of looking for a diff notepad app now for my light coding needs.
I get that you need to get paid. But your app is too aggressive! Read the CAPS! Other developers apps don't do this! One extremely annoying thing it does though is while your in the middle of doing something - EVEN IF YOUR doing something IN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT APP - is to suddenly toss up a full page ad! If this was just within the app itself it would be annoying, but manageable. BUT BECAUSE it DOESN'T CARE WHAT APP YOUR IN while it's running in the background. Too aggressive!
really bad bug, whenever i tap on 'android' then 'data' it automatically brings me to the files inside of an app i have. theres no way to choose what app i actually want to use
I wrote a shell script with this editor and I got an error when executed. Try open the script with a hex editor and I find each line has an additional unknown character [0d]. Please fix that tq.
Its just like the hex editor, just texts and it reads everything Even MP3 text! although it takes longer depending on the size
Seems good and maybe worth paying but I'm not going to analyze further because it uses ads with sound. (Let me know if you stop that and I'll buy.)
Absolutely useless because adverts block anything the user tries to do. I connot understand how this app could possibly be given a 5 star rating - something is a bit fishy.
You have totally ruined this app with popup ads. Come on now, when trying to close app it throws u a loud full page ad without an option to exit instead each time click "X" to exit it keeps reloading self intil u must use another app to kill. Used this 5yrs & suddenly u made it unusable to point if run it accendtially will spend many minutes navigating close maze until finally must kill it. App went from Nice to Absolutely Appualing. Doubt u sold any as copies after added these ads!
Stop the annoying ads! I am so annoyed when the ads show up. I literally have to rush when I use this app because I have many other things to do, and yet the ads just slow my progress. Its annoying. Im tired of it....
Selecting doesn't work. Select doesn't do anything, and Select All will put the selection nub below the bottom bar, where you can't click and hold it. EDIT: Fixed.
Very good app for text editing and programming via mobile. It just, the ads is really annoying. Ads aside, overall this app is very good and lightweight.
Can you please fix that issue - When I choose any json file in file manager then quickedit not show in intent filter dialog. But it does for other formats.
The app has potential to be good I tried opening my Android data I did what it said and it didn't seem to work properly.
Five second ads when closing files only when connected to the internet. App is free and works great so I'm okay with that.
Most interruptive ads I've ever seen. Uninstalling it after 2 minutes of use.
Review downgraded to one star. Why? Because the recent update said that the auto save no longer makes the screen flicker. I thought this would be a great idea, because that happening also causes my Bluetooth keyboard to lose keypresses. Unfortunately, it seems that most of the time, the auto-save instead now triggers a full screen advert to display. Edited: It DID provide adverts whilst I was editing. Full screen ones, many with a 5 second delay. I downgraded to an earlier version of QuickEdit.
