As of September 2019 this app stopped updating. Has no schedule old or new. Posted a review stating this. Developer instantly responded. Had to go to setting to force an update. As someone who also does this for a living would recomend an auto update when the app itself displays "no schedule available from metra". Its not apparent that user has to find a setting to get a schedule. (And yes I see that maybe it would have done it 5 days later). In general the best metra app as far as usability.
Late notification of 1/2 hour delay caused me to miss a very important event. It was too late to drive. I was notified by the speakers at Edgebrook stn before any info appeared on app. Blaming it on METRA doesn't help. This was not the first time. Accurate and timely reporting of delays is crucial... No matter who is ultimately responsible for the data.
Great app, I can travel about town on public transportation with great confidence of where I'm going and when I'll arrive. I don't use public transportation that often but when I do it's reassuring to know I can count on this app to plan my route with accuracy in real time with timely updates. Thanks and keep up the good work.
The only issue I have is that when Metra is running special schedules, the app does not update for the departure times for trains running or not running on that date. You have to refer to the special schedule, which is not easy to find either online or hard copy at the Chicago station.
I'm very pleased with this app. It's nice to have a list of favorites on the first screen so I can click on the exact stop I need for my commute, since I usually take public transportation only to a few of the same places. I've also found the estimated arrival times to be very accurate so far. Glad I found this!
It doesn't show holiday schedules you have to go online. I ended up missing the train this morning because I rely on this for any schedule changes. The schedule is still not up to date. I've switched to Ventra, the trains are live on this app. Hasn't been wrong so far
Great app that I use daily for a variety of bus routes and train schedules. The shortcuts and customized labeling is a nice touch along with the ability to click a button and put a route in the calendar.
I have utilized this app almost everyday for over a year now and find it to be completely accurate. In the rare event my bus or train didn't show I checked the CTA, PACE, or METRA tracker and found the exact same information as was on this app, therefore making it the tranportation company providing wrong information. This very rarely happens and I am happy to have real time scheduling information at my fingertips with this app. Thank you for developing it and allowing us to use it for free.
A very easy to use and reliable app! I especially appreciate being able to rearrange any saved transit option to create customized, easy to find results for my travels which varies all week long.
I love the fact that it includes real time status right on the initial schedule it gives you. A great, convenient and well-thought app. (And they do an excellent job of keeping it current.)
All Metra schedules are part of the app. Routes are easy to look up. Very useful for commuters new to a route.
Wonderful app that i have been using for few years. Lately, I have noticed that train tracker for Milwaukee west train is not working properly. Train times are generally not accurate 11/8 issue is resolved now. Thanks
Hi Mark, love the app!! Thanks for putting it together. A feature request: Is there any way to get a notification/text/etc if a favorite train is delayed? Sometimes I forget to check the app before leaving for station only to find out it's delayed. :-(.
Quick response to the concern about the Pace schedule. Prior to this the app worked great and was very dependable. Hopefully a fix will be available soon.
Fantastic app. Disregard previous review. I recieved a reply to an email instructing me how to update the train schedules. Real time updates and very convenient app. Love it
this is an awesome application. It works very well. and sometimes I just want to travel without being bombarded with ads, I truly appreciate this application
No longer reliable for Metra RI line. lately the train has been up to 10-15mins late but the app doesn't reflect that. Very annoying because I'm left standing outside with no clue how late the train will be.
**update**7/20/19-Noticing that I'm not getting the full outbound weekend schedule from Aurora to Union Station. Stops at 3:20, but I know that there are more trains after that time going into the city. Please fix...thanks!
I used to love this app, but there must have been an update and the bus times are always wrong. Still good for Metra. I have to find a dif app for the bus.
I have been using this app for years and I love it. It alwats has the most updated times, including holidat schedules and weekends.
BEEN USING IT FOR ABOUT 4 YRS. STILL THE MOST RELIABLE AND EASY TO READ!!! THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE IS WHEN I PUT MY FAVORITES IN ORDER, THEY AUTOMATICALLY REARRANGE THEMSELVES WHEN I EXIT THE APP. FRUSTRATING 🤬
This app used to be my go to. Always spot on. Since it no onger gives updates for any Pace routes, it's completely useless. Deleting.
I gave it 3 stars because the CTA Greenline is wrong. When you go to Ashland & Lake to Harlem it shows trains going east, when you click on train from Ashland to the loop show's trains found west instead of east.
Edit:5/31/2021 I have given it the full 5 stars as i have been using it for many years and all problems have been fixed. The app has been fantastic and everything is up to date.
Most reliable app for Chicago transit I've found. I moved here from Seattle 7/2018, and was used to the transit app created and managed by the transit districts so I assumed Chicago would have the same. That is not the case and their stuff is clunky, and just cumbersome if it works reliably at all. I am so glad I found this app! You have saved my bacon. I know can plan my fun trips into downtown and not hope I can catch a train back. the alerts on Metra are HUGE! Thank you!!!
