Great workout app...probably the best I have ever used. This darn thing has me going up and down my ladder constantly. What an awesome workout in my attic! Oh wait this app is supposed to help me control my QuietCool fan. Well for that task this thing is total garbage. It works 1 out of 10 times. Terrible, terrible, terrible! I have a brand new mesh wifi and a Samsung Note 9. I will be adding a hard wired switch this weekend and deleting this app.
will not consistently connect to fan. even if you change it to station mode and connect via your home network it disables it like you never changed the settings at all. even tried removing password completely from controllers wifi network.. works for 2 min then suddenly it has a password again and i cannot connect to my fan. this makes it so i cannot use my fan at all
The app.is not worth it. It wont switch speeds whem you try to change it. You have to be at home near your phone. Just get the switch or better yet the wireless RF switches. This app has never worked and still they never improve it.
I regularly have to force stop, uninstall/reinstall, or hard reset the fan to get the app to work. Don't waste your time, just get a wall switch instead.
Was working for a while then not so well. After upgrade, it won't connect every time eventually becomes unresponsive.
Connect, reconnect, can't find, never works the way it's supposed to.
I now get message: Unresponsive. Wish I had just hardwired it to a switch.
dysfunctional. save the trouble install an actual flip switch, not on the attic.
Works great with our fan but annoying that this app is unlisted making it hard to find
not very user friendly. needs more work.
Terrible. It wasn't great before but even worse now. I have to reconnect it daily.
50/50 works on android. Currently not working. Probably needs an update.
I don't recommend it at all. The remote does not work, even after downloading the app and reinstalling it four or five times. It has a serious software problem as you can read from the other reviews. It was a waste of money. Now I have both a Whole House Fan and a very hot house.
Very disappointed in this app. I spent the extra money for the WiFi controller and it doesn't work as advertised due to this poor app. The only way to make it work is to keep it as a separate WiFi network and change back and forth to this network when I want to turn the fan on and off.
I am using Version 1.4 on Android. For the first 6 months (when it was hot and i needed the fan on), the app worked on 3 Android phones in the house. Then the bugs invaded. All 3 phones stopped working. it was impossible to connect to the fan, either directly or through the house WiFi. I was constantly going up into the attic to factory reset the fan WiFi. it still never worked. I spent a few hours on the phone with Quiet Cool over many phone calls. They were patient and dedicated to fixing my problem, but it ultimately came down to APP SUPPORT. There are obvious problems with the Android app. I ended up digging an old iPhone 5 out of a drawer, and tried running the Apple app on it and guess what?? IT WORKED. SO - QCM and Intermatic (the maker of the WiFi box on the fan) PLEASE UPDATE THE ANDROID APP. I do not want to use a different device solely for running my whole house fan. PS - BIG THANKS to Mr. B. at Quiet Cool for taking my issue seriously and trying to get it fixed.
The quiet cool is great the few times it actually works. This app is always having problems as is the quiet cool itself. It doesn't even work in the high setting anymore. I never should have gotten wireless.
The app does not allow me to change the fan from a three stage fan to a two stage fan.
I paid extra money for the network controller so I could have remote control over the fan the thing only works some of the time. The worst part is to rest the control you must crawl in to the attic to rest it what a joke

This app still has a lot bugs. It usually works (but not always) on my older android devices. However it does not work at all on my galaxy s8. Lately the hub has been disconnecting from my wifi and reverting back to its own wifi connection. Quietcool support services is also non responsive. I have called and left messages as well as sent several emails with no response.
It locks up and says "Updating, please wait". Now it will not work at all on my Galaxy S8. Stuck in the updating loop. Uninstall and reinstall will not fix. I tried another WiFi fan controller with same results. Odd thing it works on my Galaxy S6 work phone. That provides its not the controller hardware. Totally useless on S8.
I could not possibly be more unhappy with this. The app hardly ever works. It either says it's updating (endlessly) or says my network controller is unreachable. It's useless. We paid $1000 for this fan and it's basically nonfunctional due to this.
This is an awesome product that keeps me cool and the air is always fresh when my systems on. Best whole house fan I've seen. I highly recommend.
Same issues as others, worked untill we got new Samsung phones. Good ideal if they ever get the bugs fixed.
Ok, I agree. The app is very buggy. I have been struggling with it like everyone else: Super annoying "updating, waiting..."!!!Finally, I think I have figured it out: Router settings. This is with the latest firmware update (1.03.16). 1) make sure 2.4 GHz is set at Auto for channel and 20 MHz for channel Width; 2) Set quite cool wifi device IP address as static on your router. To help you identify which one (oui: Newport Media, Inc.) After these changes (who knows which one is more important), I can quickly find the fan from multiple devices and control it simultaneously (I know!). Anyway, good luck. p.s. I have Tomato Router control. So all these settings are available.
Looks like it's time for a class action lawsuit. We've been told that the app would be fixed months ago and still not a dam thing done.
My brand new phone is incompatible with this app rendering my fan useless

Had my reservations after reading all the bad reviews. Contacted QC support and was told that the problems all relate to older firmware. So I believed them and glad I did. Zero issues in the 6 months I had it. Had it working from day one operating from two different phones, both android. The app is pretty basic and has its limitations. Integration with alexa/google nowhere to be found. Can't turn on the fan until you are on the home wifi. Besides that, no problems.
