McDonald's got these locators on their order numbers to help their high school dropouts find the order number displayed in big black bold font on a white piece of plastic. Your product failed them because the cashier couldn't find me, I was ten feet away.
Total JUNK! With 30 years of networking and wireless experience this is perhaps the worst piece of equipment and documentation I have ever seen. The claims of iBeacon, EddyStone, AltBeacon connectivity are useless as the app crashes 100% of the time on a Pixel XL with pure Android and the latest updates/patches applied. In order to even get the unit to turn on I had to remove and reinstall the battery, once recognized by my phone the device was incapable of completing the pairing to program the Beacon Dot. It fails at the hardware level, it fails at the software level and fails at the claims and support level. Do NOT buy the RadBeacon Dot.
The app constantly crashes. I have multiple beacons from your company and I can't configure them.
Can't configure BeaconDot, app crashes every time I scan on my Google Pixel XL 2.
Just got my BeaconDot and the app crashes everytime I try to scan for a connection.
The app is 100% broken. Waiting on a response from support
Crashes when I scan... every time.
Either the dots don't work or the app doesn't because calibration never completes after 10 readings. And the distance meter doesn't work. Something is wrong.
I am configuring dots. When the beacon is in configuration mode next to my phone, I have to try 3 times before it responds without erroring out Very tedious process.
Would give zero stars if I could. Beacons don't hold settings and randomly stop working. Bad hardware and bad software equals stay away!
Worst App. unstable. doesnt detect beacon and even it does, configuration fails.
Horrible. Crashes non-stop
You can't read the text...at all on android it's needs bold text...hello
I've never had this work well given that it's been 13 months since the last release I'd guess this has been abandoned by the manufacturer.
Sorry about the earlier bad review - user error!
Works fine! Will be great a message explaning how to set the beacon on setting mode
Cannot configure the beacons I bought from Radius. What's up with that? Trying to connect always ends in a error message.
I need to change the frequency of sending a signal, but I can't? Calibrate Measured Power (iOS only) Measure Proximity (iOS only) What is the reason that it is just possible with the iOS app?
Unstable and unreliable. It crashes every time I pick the "Calibrate" option from the action menu. It will arbitrarily report that my beacons are unconfigurable. And when I pick the same beacon again a moment later, it will be configurable. So it sorta gets the job done for development purposes, but I wouldn't rely on this for production use.
App does not configure Eddystone properly, "support" is evasive and dishonest regarding ETA for updated and usable version. There are plenty of others beacons to purchase, I'd stay away from Radius until they get their act together. Wasted money on five of their beacons.
Works for a beacon for a few minutes, then you can no longer connect. You might be able to get one setting change in, but then you run out of time, and can't save or reconnect. (You can see it in a scan, though.)
Have the same "Calibrate" crashing issue as others.
You can't find any helpful documentation. You can't configure the name of the beacon, it always reverts back to 'RBDot'. Distance configuration is a pain, you have to allot at least 30 minutes per beacon to get the optimal -Tx reading, even then the beacon still spits inaacurate distance readings regardless of path loss. Expect your dev projects to be late if this is the beacon you have invested in.
