Almost no devices are compatible with daydream anymore and Google is literally ditching the project soon. I hope that amd can still develop this app to work with their own better proprietary software though because I would really like to be able to do this with my OnePlus 8T. 🙁 As for now... Good luck devs on keeping this one alive because I would really like to see this working... But for now I'm just using RiftCat which doesn't work super great anyways.
Little complicated to setup but that was not too surprising. It turned out I just had to restart SteamVR as it didn't ask for network permissions on the first launch. Only tested with Subnautica but it ran rather well off of Vega 64 and Radeon VII
"Daydream ready phone is required" would be acceptable requirement if all (most) high end phones could be considered as daydream ready. However only a handful of such devices exist, because obviously companies don't care about getting that certification. Unfortunately this makes this app a stillborn for most of the potential users.
I got a Samsung Galaxy note 9. Say it will only work on a Samsung Galaxy S9 or note 8... This is almost the same phone, but nicer. 6month different release time different s.
Doesn't work on Huawei P20 because it doesn't support Daydream VR. Would be nice if I could try it anyway because I'm sure my hardware can stream 2 60fps videos fine. Also this app is under the wrong category in the play store (productivity?)
Still trying it out, having trouble setting up controller; but I think that's a steam issue.
Requires daydream to use so no newer device will be able to run it since daydream has pretty much been abandoned.
only supports a daydream controller. so I guess I can throw my gear vr into the toilet
Haven't used it yet easy to setup.
Said my phone wasn't daydream ready despite the fact that on the official daydream page is says the phone is daydream ready
Very impressive with Lenovo Mirage Solo :O
Daydream only... cool but i have a s10plus
Works well with daydream headset. SteamVR apps will need to support the controller type you're using (I had no issues with an xbox one controller). Could use better setup instructions. Very trial and error to get it working.
