Pretty useful and decent radio player. NHK stations are recommended by default but I've never gotten them to work, which is a bit disappointing. Occasionally blips in performance but these tend to be minor and in line with regular radio problems but otherwise the range of stations is really good and there are no additional annoying ads. Solid app.
It hΓ‘s a nice amount of stations,.. But on my (bad/low-quality) tablet many of the stations won't come in. While this is the case, my 5-stars I feel like is not too exessive. The stations that do come in, while connected to my home wifi, are clear and sound good. There is still a plenty good amount of stations that I've found quickly, without even searching for a long time to find them.
Broken app, tons of ads. Most of the stations don't work. You push play and nothing happens. Banner ads, ads pushed into the list of stations, and full screen ads that constantly interrupt you every time you click on something or try to change the station. Constantly opens the playstore to random app pages and forces open your browser with links to scam websites.
Literally unusable. I wouldn't mind an ad every now and then but every 3 seconds a giant ad appears and the screen has no x to close it. Can't even turn on a station.
The app seems good, but the ads are way annoying, some of them takes u stright to the play store without clicking on anything. Will stick with my old radio app at least it will play the radio then shows u an ad without sound while the radio playing. This app on the other hand when u click on a channel it will show u a video ad first then takes u to the channel which u have to click on again for it to play!
I really do like this app. I like the different music genres that it offers and it's also helping me to learn Japanese. The only problem that I have is that the seven broadcast stations that I tried to connect to never worked. The streaming stations work great.
I love it Sounds so cool I like it even if I can't understand it But anyway to the details It has multiple channels and it does have some English in it It plays even when you let your phone turn off (not power off or restart) but it also keeps playing if you go to text someone or play a game like for me Roblox and you just go swipe down to see your notifications and you can pause it but it's really good and I don't know exactly if you can still play it offline but I think so if you have data
Review update: As of April 21, 2020 (23:34) I think the AM stations are not working. Whenever I choose a station, e.g. NHK R1, NHK R2, etc. and when I press the play button, it just loads and then after a while it returns to the play button, (which means it doesn't play) All the other stations are on air/available/online while NHK stations are not. Are the said stations not open or is this a bug within the app?
Overall nice app. But some stations require vpn to access (jp restriction) Edit: too many ads, barely clicked one button and another ad pop out, can't be turned off and last for like 15s+ , another button and another ad and the cycle goes on. Can't be used at all. Disappointed with the recent change
this is literally the best Japanese Radio App out there. It gives you a wide variety of stations and you are able to set one for an alarm clock. The radio station plus alarm is the best. You can even earn the equalizer for free if you have a friend that joins via your download link!!!
This is one the best app I use so far and overall this app is pretty okay and this app is helpful but the ads keeps interrupting and it ruins the mood also is it just me or some of radio isn't working? Love having this access to the music and some great talk shows to practice listening of normal spoken Japanese. Love the alarm settings. Only snag is, a lot of stations either don't work for reception, or lays haltingly, like bad buffering. Otherwise, I love it.
I dont understand people complaining about ads. They only play when you pick a station and just apear in empty space. These ads are not like the mobile games where after every beating a 5 second level you get the ad. This app dosent have that problem. There is no ad issue and it works great.
New issue found in new release which the radio play will, after Play stop either manually or by an incoming phone call, resume for a while and then stop to play. Then, need to press play again manually again to continue listening. The issue can be workaround by Stop and Play manually, i.e. Phone call-Resume-Manual Stop-Play. The fix suggested by developer is irrelevant.
The stations are good, but there is a major problem with ads. An ad will come up CONSTANTLY and there is no way to get rid of them without exiting the app, making it near impossible to navigate anything.
I use this to help with my learning of the Japanese language. You can get quite a few stations. Not bad for being 11,000km away. You won't always connect to every station but I am pleased with this app. Much better than a few other apps that I have tried.
I wish they got more names of the songs they play right. There have been plenty of times where I've screenshotted songs to look them up later on YT only to find a different song lol. Other than that I love using this song to find awesome mainstream and underground JP songs!
Such an amazing app works perfectly with any alarm too! I wasn't sure it would work but I was sure proved wrong. It has great music and great compacity also. I really recommend it!
Music from japan, the ads are infrequent enough that their not a bother and can play in the background. Just needs some more songs.
This app really has great stations and podcasts that help me learn Japanese! It's also easy to use and free. Not too many ads and plays great in the background of other apps. 5/5.
Good overall, but the buffering could use a little work. Some channels would take some time to load, stop playing, or not work at all.
Great app has a good selection, though it could use some more hard rock/ heavy metal stations I was only able to find one station in that category but aside from that one thing a perfect appπ
Good stuff! Nice to use this instead of going to a radio's website stream. Found some good stations I didnt know about! Haven't tried every station but everything I've listened to sounds great and works.
Awesome music but the only thing missing is a "Last Song Played" list because I woke up to a song that I really liked but missed the name for it unfortunately. Excellent otherwise. γγγγ¨γγγγγΎγ~β€
A lot of radio stations don't work, and the ads are really annoying, interrupting the music and the mood. There's a similar app (for my needs) which even being free, had ads of course, but only while using the screen, and not interrupting the music. I paid for this other app that I'm talking about, only to support the developers, because THAT'S how it's done.
