Radiolab

Radiolab is a show about wonder, curiosity and big ideas. Hailed by critics as “best radio show,” Radiolab presents a potent elixir of science and philosophy, first-person storytelling and radio theatre, all woven together with the most innovative sound design to ever spill out of the radio. Hosted by Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich and produced by WNYC, the show is heard on more than 300 public radio stations around the country.
The Radiolab app is all about curiosity, too. More than just a companion to the broadcast, the app is an extension of the Radiolab experience and its spirit of exploration, possibility and play.

By downloading the Radiolab app, you can…

· Listen to every podcast of the show from the very beginning to the latest release.

· Make your own audio effects, text and photos based on specific requests from Jad and Robert and upload them via Soundcloud.

· Read blogs and updates from the show.

· Share podcasts via email, Facebook and Twitter.

· Receive push notifications of news, new episodes and Radiolab events.

· And Access all of the above through a truly unique user experience that’s not just about navigation, but exploration.

While I love your content, your app hangs; it won't close, even when swiped away. It just hangs in the background and refuses to close. I admire its dedication to spreading knowledge and entertainment, but would definitely appreciate it more if it goes away when I ask it to. Pixel 2XL, Android 9.0. also, the listed developer email address doesn't work.

The content is great if you are a radiolab fan, but the UI is pretty terrible. Just give me a list of episodes to choose from. And is there really no way to exit the app without digging through my phone settings and doing a force stop?

Google Play says it's been 40 weeks since I used this app last, but recently I'm getting errors every day that "Radiolab has stopped working". Maybe I'll change my rating if they ever fix it so this POS quits trying to use my phone's resources without my permission. How does a podcast relating to science and tech have such a terrible app in 2019? Jad, Robert, and WNYC should be embarrassed to have their names associated with it.

Interface is convoluted, playback cuts out in the middle of shows frequently and resuming from where you left off is near impossible. Just frustrating and I love radiolab so it just makes it worse when it fails

I love Radiolab. The app isn't without glitches but I love that it exists at all. It is glitchy though, it crashes a lot. Can someone fix the bugs pretty please? ❤️

Can't find the preferences within the app. Also, downloading episodes only works periodically.

This app is fine, don't know why everyone is whining. If you want to go back to your spot on the podcast, then download it, it's free. Radio is wonderful, I don't mind giving them $3.

Can't seem to download podcasts. Low resolution. Overall, disappointing.

Keeps Crashing...and I paid for it. Galaxy S8+ Android 9.0

I LOVE Radiolab's content but this app is very frustrating to use. It just seems a bit clumsy and counterintuitive. On my Oneplus 5t when playing an episode the controls for stopping or pausing the stream cannot be seen as the buttons are the same colour as the background. Also, there is no apparent way to exit the app without killing the process in app controls...or maybe I'm missing something?

For an app that costs $3 it could REALLY use a face lift. I love the content, but the interface is just awful. If I don't finish an episode and try to play from where I left off, it plays a different episode. I suppose downloading could be a solution but it doesn't seem reasonable to download a 30 minute episode. It's 2028, but this app seems like it was developed in 2010

The app's interface is just awful, what where they thinking... The content is great and that's why I use it. Please return to a normal interface that you can actually use.

Only seems to work well with a strong Wi-Fi connection. Really struggles with 4G or weak internet.

love the content but the app is trash

The app itself is cool, if it would only work. It has been buggy for years. Right now I'm listening to a full episode using it with no way to pause, rewind or fast forward. The whole download function is totally cryptic. There isn't room to describe all the buggy things about this app. I expected them to continually improve this app but they haven't at all.

This app is an abomination. It is almost unknowably bad. You literally can not quit it without forcing a stop or disabling it in settings. I don't understand how the producers of such a great show tolerate an app that delivers it so poorly. It would really be better to take it off the market than to infuriate admirers in this way. Whenever I am tempted to contribute to the show all I have to do is think about this app. If I knew who created it and got paid for it I would sick Buster on him.

I love radiolab and donate every month, but the app is horribly glitchy. The podcasts will start playing with 10 or 15 seconds glitches in it. If you go back 30 seconds, the same glitch will play again. You can download the podcast and then go into airplane mode and it says the podcast isnt there. Super glitchy. Just nacigate radiolab in browser mode on your phone.

This app is very confusing to navigate. The graphical interface is clumsy and makes it difficult to find any actual content. Also, and as far as I can figure there isn't any way to close the app. Once you launch it it always shows a notification that says it is running in the background. I love radio lab but this app is very poorly done.

I already had the app on my iPhone and at first it worked great but then I couldn't download anything. Now I have a fairphone which runs on android. I downloaded and paid for the asp again but nothing works. I can't download any podcasts, sometimes can't stream them either. Make section didn't even open even though I have all updates. Please fix it, I really love the show and the app is beautifully designed

I love radiolab, but this app is a hot mess. The graphic user interface is convoluted and counterintuitive. The tap icons are small and if you miss, you have to watch animations and deal with annoying things to get back to where you were. And glitches abound; it often deletes episodes I've downloaded and quits spontaneously. Please entirely redesign this app!

The Make section scripts do not show up on my GS7edge. I am going to try on my GS5. The podcast works fine but seems pointless to have the app. I'll just go back to listening through Stitcher. I thought it would be cool to record some audio for you guys but the app is prohibitive of that.

I hate this app. While I love Radiolab, I'll have to just rely on the radio. After. Closing the app, it takes over the lock screen. I don't want the green Radiolab screen but the only way to get rid of it is to restart the phone. Then, even after turning off the app and removing headphones, the notifocation bar shows they are still plugged in. Again, only way to turn it off is to restart. Fix this app. Please.

Sigh. Trying to use this app is very frustrating. I have a monster phone, brand new: 4 cores, 3GB of ram, unlimited 4G and this app runs horribly on it. The interface is clever, but way overblown and not well tested. It is unclear how to download anything and more unclear how to find things that you've downloaded. You're better off just donating $3 to radiolab and downloading the podcasts separately and listening to them in a generic MP3 player. That's how bad this app is.

App crashes all the time, it's choppy, it never downloads the content when requested to, and often plays the wrong episode when you clearly selected the one you wanted. It will keep replaying the same episode no matter what you select if this happens. To avoid this you have to stop the app and reopen it. It would be better without the gimmicky effects and just the content. Please delete this app asap.

All the reviews I've read on this app are spot on. I love Radiolab, absolutely love it, but the app is seriously disappointing. There's no need for me to go into detail, because the details are covered in many other reviews of the app that I've read. Seems there are two different standards at work here, one for the podcast and one for the app. If you could bring the high standard of quality that you bring to the podcast to the app, then you would have a winner. But your not there as of now.

Love radio lab, but this is the worst and least stable APP I have ever used. I've used it on three of my Android phones and an Iphone. It has never worked right on any device I have ever used over the years. I wish they would get someone who knows what they are doing to code a proper app. Especially since this is a paid for app.
