Seat reservation:On some trains, a reservation is mandatory.Other reservations are optional, but it may be a good idea to make one. Especially in the busy summer period to ensure you have a seat or can sit together with a group of friends. Or, for example, if you have a connecting route or flight on the other end and want to play it safe.
In general, reservations are required for:- all European night trains- most of the high-speed trains
Here’s how to find out if a train needs to be reserved:1. Go to the ‘Trip Planner’ section of the App. 2. Enter your departure and arrival stations, as well as your departure date and time.3. Click on ‘Find you train route’ to view your different options for that route.4. A 'R' symbol will show if a reservation is needed.Note: In the ‘Trip Planner’ select ‘Options’ to filter by routes that do not require a reservation
Most trains, usually regional trains, don’t need a reservation at all.Just complete your travel report, hop on and enjoy the journey.Conditions of useAll rights, including the right of reproduction (except for the purpose of program execution onyour own Smartphone), distribution and processing in whatever form, shall remain vested in the manufacturers. Scam- you buy a eurail pass and then with only few trains allowing online reservation- you end up paying hundreds over hundreds or be stuck in every place you arrive until they sort out your reservation. Never again this horrible pass. A simple trip planned and now already paid more than 650 euros in tickets.
Great train planner app, quick and easy to use and plan trips weeks out. Was able to even reserve certain trains straight from the app. Has several options for what kind of trains you want. Served me well for traveling across Europe.
I couldn't get past the first screen of finding a trip. Kept getting the same failure screen message right before the app crashed " HAFAS system error - Assertion failed. File hafas/format c line 76."
Extremely comprehensive and very easy to use, indispensable during a Europe-wide trip.
Doesn't give train info accurately. Basically there's no point to the app because you can't book anything on it and Google will give you better information.
Won't update, says my device is not supported. I am running Android 6.0.1. Why have you dropped me? Will you continue to update my timetables?
As I see so far, a very expensive coupon. So far I have to pay a fee for everything.
I hate it. The app ever useless. The app wont save your trip the app gonna RUIN your trip. Never ever trust it.

Was a great app, but replacement wont run on many Android tablets, including mine. (and it does run Android 5). As there are so many complaints about the new version, why not just update this with the updated timetables. Surrly that cannot be difficult. Comments on the new one include that noone used the departure board. I used it regularly, and it was especially useful when in trouble due to late running/problems on the line ahead. It was a way of finding options. USELESS UNLESS UP TO DATE.
This app was invaluable on a recent interrail holiday. The offline timetables feature is brilliant, and this was really useful in working out alternative routes to places. One negative is that some information was inaccurate. We were traveling on a train from Belgium to Germany, and the app said that a reservation was compulsory on the Belgian part, which was clearly wrong. We also found some incorrect times on trains into Brussels Zuid.
This app is good for checking train times, however sometimes they aren't accurate so be careful. Also a big problem is the seat reservation option on the app does not work. When you go to pay for seat reservations it glitches out. Making it useless.
Tells me what I need to know and has useful options such as setting a minimum transfer duration.
Firstly, the app doesn't show the names of operating train companies, it only says whether it is a high speed train, regional train, etc which makes it very confusing for a traveller. Secondly, it says for some trains "reservation useful"- as a traveller i need to know for sure whether it is a must to reserve or not. I suggest google maps as a trip planner. This app is a joke.
The interrail planning guide and map show here are ferry routes between Greek Islands and he mainland as well as between greece and italy yet none of these routes show up when I am trying to make reservations. I have no idea if it is necessary to do so but I can't even check as the cities in question, such as Herklion are not even on the menu.
Unintuitive menu. Says compulsory seat reservations on some trains that don't need reservations causing unnecessary stress. Reservation option did not allow us to enter our pass number. Disappointing app.
It's a very useful as a trip planner but not much else. You can't make reservations, its glitches out, and it's terrible af finding alternative routes. It doesn't show all possible routes at once unless you use filters which is not very intuitive.
The app itself is currently not letting me make any train reservations, due to the fact that it's glitching out on the payment page (running android 8.0.0)
GREAT APP!!! Got us through a whole euro trip with last minute planning on the go. Our trip wouldn't happen without this app.
Very confusing n not very informative. Not user friendly.
Best of its kind at finding multiple routes between places. However, it has a "Trip Planner" feature but doesn't sync these trips. I did much planning on my tablet but now I cannot see them on my phone.
