Railroad Companion-Train Sound
Railroad Companion is a collection of train sound effects (including steam, diesel and line side railroad sounds) for use as an educational tool, for adding controllable sounds to a train layout, or purely for pleasure and fun. Also included are an explanation of whistle signals, a locomotive wheel arrangement guide (Whyte Classification System), and freight car and track classifications. A handy reference when visiting a tourist railroad or rail-fanning.
Now includes a "Random Mode" for playing random sounds as background and the ability to set sounds as ringtones and notification tones.
Connect your phone to some speakers (and a sub-woofer!) under your train layout and use the phone as a handy sound control panel. Complete train sound effects for your layout "on the cheap"!! Fun for model railroad clubs too!

The only complaint is even with the latest version, the bell sound doesn't loop seamlessly. It stutters when it loops back to the start of the sample. This is all i wamted this app for and ofcourse it doesn't work right.
too bad he abandoned it for the newer phones. had great potential.

Everything is great except for two things. The diesel speed step could use work, it sounds a little...weird...the further right you move the slider. Better air compresser and brake sounds would also be nice. Otherwise I LOVE everything else, the sounds are realistic enough that I can use my imagination to make of for the diesel slider, LOL
I can't read anything in this app because everything is cut off on the right hand side and bottom. Every app I have ever opened has fit my screen except this one. HTC desire 510 and Samsung tab S both have issues with this app.
I like this app a lot, but I do have a problem with it, and that problem is if I turn off the screen, lock the phone the sound stops so to be able to listen to it I have to have the screen on the whole time and I do consider that a problem.
Great app, BUT it would be really awesome if sounds would continue when the app is running in the background/minimized, rather than needing to restart every time i switch tasks on my screen
Great that you can blend diesel and steam sounds. That can really add a lot of depth for effect.
The best app by far..quality sounds.. LOVE the slider/ mixer option.. It has ambient & station sounds also. Only liked 1 of the free versions..and this is alot nicer. Very good app for less then a cup of coffee :)

This app is great but the screen is too big on my phone. Maybe add a screen adjuster?
The running engine sounds steam and diesel do not work. Neither does the wheel sounds or chug. Useless with out those. I am on the latest android release
I just downloaded this to my phone and I hooked up a bluetooth speaker to it and placed it on my model railroad. The sounds are just awesome for both steam and diesel. It will work well with any scale trains. I am going to hide a speaker under the layout somewhere. This is way better than the free one I got the other day. It is much easier to use. Thanks for developing a wonderful app for model railroad and railroad enthusiasts.
