Switched from the owl cam due to them going belly up and then doubling the monthly cost. The raven does everything I like but has some room to grow. I would love to get video clips, not still frames, of bumps sent to my phone via cellular instead of having to use wifi. Or at least be able to configure what gets sent over cellular and what waits for direct wifi.
video downloads while not directly connected to the device fail. i am not sure if this is by design or not (to save their LTE data), but imagine the frustration of witnessing a break in and not being able to download the evidence until they rip the cam off the dash and steal that too. i also see events in the app for car movement, but i dont get notifications on my phone for it.
I was an Owlcam user and decided to switch to Raven a couple years ago. The Raven cam and app have been a huge disappointment for me. In the 2 years I've owned it, the camera never detected anything when the car wasn't on. Because of this, I ended my subscription about 8 months ago. Soon after cancelling, the camera started to constantly reboot. I tried everything their support page said to do, but no luck. It's basically been as useful as a fake camera deterrent.
So close to perfect...but since this new update, my phone gets stuck connected to the raven and I get no calls/data while driving unless I disable wifi
Feature rich app with excellent support. Works very well and has potential to be even better.
So far I'm quite impressed with the Raven+ camera and accompanying app. I was an original Owlcam owner and hate to see the train wreck they have become. I finally committed to Raven and am very pleased so far.
I am not able to connect to my phone. App not accepting login information. Login works on the Web, not on mobile. Please advise.
Battery Killer I changed two batteries because of this dashcam, Not recommending anyone.
Uninstalled and reinstalled and app works as it should. Thanks to Raven support team for the assistance.
first I would like to thank Stephan for his patience, support and a great attitude THANKS BUDDY I haven't used it or got into the function yet YES it is hooked up so till then I won't comment BUT will soon
nowhere does it say that it is a subscription based app
Any New Updates for the Year 2022??
Edit 2018-10-31: The map app has been updated and now offers a more interesting usage. Considering it is third party, I understand you cannot directly modify it. Here are some ideas for features that could be interesting: - Some way to hold often-used addresses for the navigation - Functionalities with google assistant / Siri / Alexia - Display tires psi for cars with electronic valve system - Pre-acknowledgment of car start to avoid pointless alerts I'd also like to know if you managed to get acknowledged by any car insurance company. Thx! ------------------ The app works great, and it's fairly easy to setup the raven device with it. Easy to use, see livestream and share trip. Multiple features are 'coming soon', of which I am eager to hear more news about. I am a bit disappointed by the choice of third party map application. It's a bit jerky, tends to be a bit inaccurate for people watching it and finding an address to set up the nav output is really troublesome compared to what google maps could offer
Life changing app/device that truly makes your car smarter. This should be standard for every car in the future...Definitely worth it!
Just switched over from owl cam. I love this thing. It doesn't give me false notifications all day like the owl did but it does alert me when something is going on. The best feature for me since I have to log my mileage and trips for work is that the app does it for you. No more having to write it all down. It even gives you a map of the route you traveled along with the distance, time spent driving and even fuel mileage for the trip. Cameras are pretty good in day or night.
