OMG!!! This app is a piece of garbage. Very inconsistent when it was working. Now my doorbell has suddenly disappeared from the app, so when I try to reinstall, it reads "this device has already been added. You must first delete it from this account in order to add". Spoke to tech support (sounds like she was on a speaker phone...kept breaking up) and I've gotta send her a copy of the QR code on the device. Did it, but I ain't expecting much. Should've gotten a Ring!!

The QR scanner recognizes my device but the SN is not 9 digits. My device is connected to the network and successfully pinging at 64mbps. When adding my device, it does not take me to the verification code screen and just gives me an error stating its unable to configure the network. The app screens are slightly different than what is in the user guide and Ive never been able to use the app since day one over a year ago.

I'm not getting push notifications or door bell ring calls anymore since the most recent update. the event is still recorded in the notifications and call log history, just not getting the real-time alert. I tried enabling and disabling alerts. I tried adding and removing scheduled notifications and nothing works. my wife's iPhone still works just fine and no issue.

This app lets you view the cam and a few settings for the cam itself. The design and look of this app is very plain and the camera recording and reporting events is spotty at best. You can go to a date but that's it as there's no real fast forward, skip to next event or search by time options. You have to dig for it yourself by fist selecting a date then forever sliding your finger on a timeline. RCA's App dev team really needs to fix the look and functionality of this app.

Back up to where it was. I had made a review hours ago, rated at 1 star because I had a massive issue for the 1st time in a year owning these. Out of the blue both cameras decided to 'not exist' and it wasn't just a disconnection. Ive dealt with that before. The app was telling me to add my cameras. They were 'offline'. Although they weren't. Anyways not getting into detail. I spent 2 hrs trying to fix. Nothing worked until I decided to shut my internet off and then on. Then I configured them

The motion sensor notifications are almost useless because tapping on them only takes you to a password prompt that won't accept the correct password. The only way to actually see the video is to just ignore the notification and run the app directly, and navigate to the messages section in the app (which works fine without a password because the app has the password saved)

Setup and Install took longer than expected. Installation guide didn't say to setup WIFI connection to have Wired Door Chime inside home to start to work properly. The Video and Image from Camera is good, Chime on unit itself is LOUD, and the App is pretty user friendly. The bad thing is the most recent update is causing all the PUSH notifications for the live feed/interaction in Realtime to not go through to my Phone. I have a LG V30, and went through all settings, permissions, resetting unit, seemed they neglected some code when publishing this app version. It's a shame Hardware is only as good as the software...

The cameras installed easily but the programming is awful. I am not able to get notifications on my Android phone. Reading the other reviews now shows that this is a big problem. The online manual is useless and if you try calling for help, anyone that answers just transfers you to the next person. I was transferred 4 times. After an hour of holding for the next transfer, the last one resulted in a recording says they are in training and hangs up. Training to help us solve this problem I hope.

Tha application problem is mainly that you don't get notifications when someone ring your doorbell. As other people have mentioned, the tech support is very horrible, one lady that I spoke with told me that it was my phone, what she didn't know was that I am an IT for over 20 years and knows what I am doing. One of the post here suggested downloading "Guardian Vision", it is a better apps, just make sure that you uninstall the RCA and login with your credentials.

I love the camera the app works great. I just wish that the push notifications would come on with the lights as an option and not just motion. cars drive straight toward my house and it triggers constant notifications. The spot lights only come on when you walk around it.

I'm unable to set the area being monitored in the new version. It says I need to go to live view. After doing this I am still unable to set the areas that trigger notifications. I liked that feature because I am getting lots of unneeded notices for passing cars.

So far no problems. set up was simple and worked first try. The app has a lot of great features if you can find them. for me they weren't layered out logically. The two way voice is also sometimes spotty but this could be the internet connection.

There is no support for this app so don't bother! I only got this product because a coworker has it, except he has an older version and it works great. He doesn't have any of the problems I had. You have to manually connect to WiFi and you cannot log into the app from multiple devices. What little experience I have with this app because I just purchased the product is a negative 5 stars. I was hoping to purchase multiple cameras if this worked but now I'm rethinking this. Fix your app!

UPDATE For those that arent getting any notification when someone is ringing the door bell, download GUARDING VISION. This has resolved the issue for me, I got the app from the RCA company directly. The app is a third party option, it will automatically transfer the information from the RCA APP into the Guarding Vision app. You'll get every notification on the Guarding App. You can customize the alert when someone is near the doorbell it can sound a small alert or an emergency scarce alarm.

It works...for some reason, one day, 2 of my 4 cam system started going to black and white at night. Checked settings against the ones that didn't go b&w and everything the same. I can still see content. I did cycle the cams but it made no difference. I don't think rca has updated this app in a long while.

Installed the RCA HSDB2A doorbell unit and upgraded to the latest version of firmware. As others have mentioned no notifications are working at all on latest firmware - v 5.2.4 build 190124. Running Samsung Galaxy S9+. They appear within the RCA application but no notifications pop. Kind of an important feature for this product to not have it working. I decided to download the EZVIZ app and it allows for push notifications to operate properly on Android devices.

Can not add notifications to others... Even if they try to log in with your original username and password. The doorbell camera is great but the app is terrible (all fixable) and no way to interface with Alexa or Google home. Fix the app and it is a decent product. Oh and it fails to send me notifications. Hence rating 1 star.

I am no longer receiving video notifications. This app has many flaws. In many instances when I try to open the app I get a "software exception" error. Please fix this app. Doesn't make sense to have a security camera and not receive the videos in the app

The camera has to be power cycled regularly for this app to connect to it. Both the app and the camera need software updates to make them work better. Other rebranded cameras that use the same identical hardware have been updated but RCA is choosing not to do the right thing and support their own product.

I'm not sure what's going on with the app all of a sudden, but im not getting notification on my phone anymore when there is a detection of movement at my doorbell. What is going on? I've gone into my phone/settings ans app notifications and tried everything, but nothing seems to work.

App works great now. Push notifications work smoothly. Password prompt to view PIR event images straight from the notification doesn't work, but still works when you open the app directly. Thanks for fixing the issues with the app.

Works fine. Easy to view live and clips off the camera. I just wish there was a way to get a push notification for a doorbell ring, but not motion detection. Unfornately, it's all or nothing.

The doorbell camera itself it great. The app functions correctly on my work iPhone with notifications but it has never worked properly on any of my personal Droids (first Samsung, now Google). A notification is obviously the most important part of the doorbell.

To say this app is bad is an understatement. Logging on to wifi via the app, next to impossible (use the manual method).Login from another device doesn't work. Setting the notification doesn't work. No cloud recording. Basically these cameras are CHEAP and the app is garbage

Camera is nice, with great video quality... WHEN you can get it to work. The app completely sucks. It will crash at random and recalibration involves having to delete and re-add.

Disappointed that it cannot be installed on Android tablets. Limitation is not documented, so I didn't know until I purchased the HSDB1 doorbell and the tablet, and modified the siding on my house to make flat space large enough to mount the doorbell. Although the tech service guy was prompt and friendly, I'm also disappointed with RCA policy, which is apparently to limit the usefulness of their product. The doorbell is also labelled and marketed by several other companies, including Hikvision. The HikVision "Hik-Connect" app also works with the RCA doorbell, as do several independent apps, such as iSpy, which CAN be installed on Android tablets, but RCA was unwilling to provide necessary details to use them. Eventually, found that Hik-Connect does connect to camera similarly to RCA Security, and works well.

The app crashes about 50% of the time. Its unreliable, you may, or may not, get notified right away when the doorbell is rung. Streaming video quality is low, 480 maybe, definitely not "ultra hd".

DO NOT BUY. Unable to playback motion sensed video. Worked fine for one month. Support is useless. Do not buy this product. Recommended solution was to take the doorbell camera apart and reinstall the SD card that was already installed and previously working. Unreliable junk. Did what the support petson said. Still does not wotk. Junk. Taking it back to he store. Will tell them to stop selling this product.

Constantly crashing, and doesnt even offer a way to extend the floodlight timer. Disappointed in the app so far. A camera this expensive should have a better app to control it (that actually works)

I'm no longer getting push notifications to my phone. I reset the unit and it's still not working! Oh, and I no longer get pinged when someone rings my doorbell. The latest update made this app USELESS!!!
