Read Scripture

I have used The Bible Project App for over four years now. I was introduced to it by a co-worker & fellow Believer. It is absolutely wonderful! I especially enjoy that you can choose options to "read at your own speed" or a "daily reading". The videos are excellent as well! This App should certainly help you in your walk with the Lord, whether you are new to the Bible or have been a Believer for a long time!

Simple, but perfect for me. Four chapters a day to get through one year. The short videos on sections help me get into the headspace of the big idea. I've received a lot from this app. Have already recommended this to family and friends.

Would have been a 5 star rating...My only knock on the app is that if you get a new phone it doesn't save your progress. This is a major problem given that your whole idea is centered around reading the Bible in a year.

Update: the issue is resolved!! Simple and straightforward outline. Easy to use. I love that you can turn verse numbers on/off. When I turn the numbers off, it's easier to read like regular text. I enjoy the illustrations and prompts. One thing that's lowering the score: the videos aren't available to watch. I see a black void where the video should be. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but this did not resolve the issue.

Super great until now. Was using it for quite a while but then just yesterday I had a blank screen and no progress was showing. Even when I restarted the app and my progress nothing would pop up. Now I uninstalled it and reinstalled it with no fix to the blank screen. I would really love it if a developer would fix that problem! Edit: thank you for reviewing that!! It has since been fixed and able to continue my progression. Thank you for your quick response!!

Our church is using this app as a year long challenge. It works very well. I love the videos!! They are AWESOME and bring such understanding in how the whole story of scripture fits together. Con: The font is very light and difficult to read, Even enlarged there is not a lot of contrast between the type and background. (Use black and not grey print) I do wish there was an option to choose a different version of the Bible to read from.

Love this app, it's so great and super easy to use! Sadly the videos won't buffer (I have gigabit Internet so it's not my internet because they won't buffer on 4G data either) and so it takes almost 3 times the length of the video to watch them as I have to constantly wait for the buffer to load. I'd also like to see an option to make the vide full screen and also the scrollbar to change to white when it enters the black background of the psalms. Other than that, I love it! Great job team.

Quite easily the best reading plan for everyone starting their study of the Bible. Comprehensive, yet simplistic. Edit: This is a mere technicality, but I'm bringing it up because it comes off as odd among the other apps. I don't know if this applies just for my phone, but the name below the app's icon on my phone reads, "ReadScripture" without a space, with the 'e' at the end all by itself on a second line. Looks odd.

Bible project videos are very interesting and gave me new insight, particularly in the old testament in sections I have struggled to understand. Overall, works well, and looks great. Only issue I've had is that some times when my phone rotates screen orientation, the passage I was reading is reset back to the top. All in all, a minor inconveniemce.Thanks for the app!

This app needs to be able to hold your spot/allow you to put a bookmark for what you've read up to. Even if i just minimize the app, sometimes the app will restart when i open it and I'll have to find my spot all over again. It would also be nice if even just the scriptures were able to be read offline, but instead, there must be internet in order to use the app at all. Lastly, it would be nice if I could highlight passages that I'm enjoying or that are meaningful, but that is not an option

Love it!!! Just one thing- ive set the reminder to go off every day 8am but the reminder tab only pops up when I open the app. The one and only glitch I've found- everything else is amazing, the layout is beautiful and the videos are so professional and clever. I keep recommending it to my friends! Well done and thankyou for helping me get into the word each day.

I started using the app in Jan, 2021. I haven't missed a day of reading and I was really enjoying the videos and commentary along with my reading. When I opened the app this morning, my progress and the schedule were gone! I tried to reset, then uninstall, but nothing worked, so I just deleted the app. My daughter's app is working fine, so maybe it's just a problem with my phone. I'm very disappointed, though.

I love this app! It helped me read through the entire Bible for the first time! I'm doing it again (a third way through) but the home page is completely blank now (on both phones). :( galaxy note 8 and 10 -Update: started working morning of 2/5/21. Thanks 😁👍 keep up the good work! and that issue would not prevent me from continuing to read the Word! But it is a great guide!

I love this app, the Bible plan and the amazing informative videos that accompany each book. The illustrations brings it to life and helps you to visualize what you're learning. Thanks for all you do to make reading the Scriptures even more exciting... However, I look forward to an update which allows the use of the app across devices. It would further assist your readers on the go as well as become a more diverse tool that is flexible for users with more than one device. Thanks in advance.

*Edit- After the response from the developer, it is now working perfectly again. Thank you for giving me that tip on getting my progress back.* When it was working, it was great. I was through to Nehemiah when it just stopped loading, just white where the scripture list was. It was like it couldn't connect - cleared cache/data, reinstalled - and it won't work anymore. Same on different wifi and cellular. Will use the pdf to finish up. Still working on my kid's phone though, so I have no idea.

Shout out to these guys for making great videos and having a great and approachable user interface in this. I been using this app as a progress tracker and guideline even tho I do my actual reading from paper pages... So much of this reading plan is designed to focus more on content and context instead of pacing and accomplishment. I think my most favourite part is the prompt at the top of the page to take a deep breath before beginning. Good stuff.

Great companion app for daily devotionals! The videos for each book and themes are excellent resources, providing background and context. My only complaint is that after my Galaxy s9 updated, the app only displays a blank screen. Reinstalling it doesn't seem to do anything, and none of my setting changes impacts it either.

Awesome app that stands apart from most "one year bible" isque apps as it interacts the amazing videos from the bible project within it. The look of the app is great. Some suggestions would be to allow the videos to snap fit to the screen when played. Also the option of saving for offline use would be amazing too as I don't want the distractions that go along with the Wi-Fi.

Nice and simple design. A good reading experience and I like the reading plan that it takes you through. Having the videos embedded within is a nice feature too. It's a good app for reading through the whole Bible and gaining a deeper understanding of the whole narrative and where each book fits in. I still prefer paper though!

This is a good application, however a feature that would be great is for it to have user accounts. My phone got busted a while back, I used a temporary phone while until my phone is got repaired. I wasn't able to go back to where I left off immediately because my progress was not synced. Saving a user's progress in a server can do wonders :) Thank you so much for this app

Well designed app. Clean, simple, but beautiful. Reading scripture like a book instead of as a collection of verses has been a wonderful experience, and the videos add context to the daily reading without going too in depth or off topic. Nice way to change things up and keep from becoming routine in devotionals.

Good app apart from the animation when you open and close categories on the main page, they're a bit jittery on my phone.

I have finished reading the Bible through this app. I have loved the videos which give you the overall theme of each Book, how the Books are broke down into sections, what the author's desire to get across to the readers. That Jesus is the overall theme of God's Word to us!! Thank you for such an amazing tool that this app is. God bless you!! If I could add some feedback, it would be at the end. When I finished my last reading there was no conclusion. Something like, now that your done, do this.

For some reason my app is no longer showing the reading information. The "Your Journey" screen is blank and doesn't allow me to click on the calendar. I can only select the settings icon. I even deleted the app and redownloaded it but I am having the same problem. Can someone offer me a solution? I was really enjoying the app before this. In the mean time is there somewhere I can view the schedule online?

Thoroughly enjoyed this app and how focused it is on just showing the Word. But one day the video playback just started glitching. Audio is fine, just the visuals got very choppy. Not sure what's going on but hopefully it gets fixed. Thanks for all that you do!
